New Alliance - OOC

Hello everyone!

My name is Brett, and I'll be writing for Luke Cage in the game. It's been years since I've last done something like this, and the site feels a bit foreign in design, so please forgive my learning curve (it'll be a quick one, I have no doubt)! I have previously played on a few X-Men board sims, but the bulk of my online fiction experience came from some old Star Trek PbEMs.

Huge comic fan, grew up with Marvel, slowly integrated DC over the last decade (it appears the player make-up is heavily DC oriented!). If I do a second character, I'm tempted to write Madrox... also worried Peter David's shadow looms large. I also saw a request for magic people somewhere... would love to try my hand at Dr. Strange if the opportunity arises!

Everybody knows Gotham's crazy. Batman once told Superman that he - that no one could understand or handle Gotham the way Batman did. But now that we've got SHIELD agents going into it to try and restore order, I was thinking we should discuss what they're in for.

What makes Gotham different from any and every other city? It's run by seven mafia families, it's overridden by street gangs, the politicians are corrupt, but that could be Chicago. What makes Gotham special?

There are a lot of crazies running around in Gotham, but it's not just them, either. Our crazies are just as special as our city, so please - think up some of the best examples (with explanations) of why you think SHIELD might be walking into it's own Waterloo in Gotham, and then let's discuss the city we all know and love, in spite of it all.

Hi everyone,

It's Rose again, bringing in my second character, the man you all love to fangirl (unless you're a villain or Jac/Zinda): Captain America! He is the best of Batman and Superman in one package, and is going to be Clark's new best friend. Of course, his unlikely bestest friend will be Tony Stark (I'm looking at you, Deb), so Bruce, you don't have to worry. Steve was found in frozen in the ice, in suspended animation, by S.H.I.E.L.D. 8 months ago (when the movie came out in real life. I like meta). Since then, he's been in their custody, living on the Hellicarrier and working as a liaison. After talking to Mel and Nick, I've decided that his return was kept under-wraps for the first four and half months, as they brought him up to speed on everything post-WWII and made sure he got over the a lot of the culture shock. People who knew about his return before everyone else: any S.H.I.E.L.D. characters, as well as Lady Blackhawk, who was brought in as a consultant to help him adjust after S.H.I.E.L.D. messed it up with the hospital room.

For Steve's background, I did use the movie as some inspiration, and some of the events take place the same way, but I also wanted to include aspects from the comics like the Invaders and have him involved in the war effort longer. You can read more about all that in his background here. I'll be making a prettier profile later, but for now it's there.

Cap has been out and about publicly for just over 3 months, and as I said, he's affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D. His return was probably a big freakin' deal, and they probably made a point of making it clear he was a government man. Photo op with President Obama and Nick Fury, say what.

Anyhow, give me your plots! I wants them!
