There was a connection with nature mankind had once had and still craved.
Who: Bryte, Andrei and Ares
What: Lunching and discussing church issues
When: Wednesday, noonish
Where: Hollywood sandwich shop
Bryte had been busy, as most anyone would expect. The ministry at the film festival had been wonderful, very effective and had brought in many curious and excited new members. The local leaders had seen more numbers coming to their meetings, despite the fact that LA had seen rather warm weather of late. People appreciated learning about the Creator while settled among his creations, it was a simple fact. There was a connection with nature mankind had once had and still craved. There was something that made you understand about a benevolent being when you were seated among the grass He made, warmed by the rays of the sun which He lovingly stretched toward you, cooled by the breeze He set into motion. It was part of what made the Church of the New Crusaders so effective.
"It was a good call," he nodded, icy blue eyes staring across the table at one if his High Priests. "I am sorry you met such resistance, it was an excellent ministry opportunity." Andrei had come against enough people who had not wanted to attend the film festival and Andrei had needed to fight tooth and nail to get the church there. "I promise you'll have more voice in the future." It was perhaps a weak statement, but Bryte had never been known for glowing words which inspired warm fuzzies all around. That was why he had charming, charismatic people such as Andrei working for the church.
Smoothing down his shirt, Bryte took another bite of his club sandwich before setting the remainder back on his plate. The food here was good, he enjoyed local cafes as opposed to restaurant chains. He was not anti-corporation, but he swore you could taste the love in the food of those who made it because it was their passion, not their job. If only he could put such thoughts into words the church just might have a larger membership base. "Do you have any other ideas for future ministries? Anything which has happened since you want to share?" He did not look like a head of a religion, dressed in dark jeans and a pressed collared shirt. There were no extravagances about him, his shoes simple and functional, his grooming neither fussy nor scruffy. He looked like any other person, a fact which endeared some to his ministry and caused others, who wanted to view their leaders as saints and borderline divinities, real problems.
