The stranger couldn't have possibly known all that had been taken from Bryte. It wasn't exactly splashed across their numerous (and quite huge) advertisement boards. His Father's death wasn't a reason to fear the One True God, however. At least in Andrei's opinion. It was a reason to hold onto His love with a tenacious grip. So many people questioned the Father, questioned his motives, his compassion.. and yet one had only to look at the cross to know exactly how much He loved them all. The ultimate sacrifice, given so that each and every one of them could be forgiven for all of their sins.
"Fear is not borne of mere malice or violence," the Elder Priest stated softly. His cerulean orbs were gentle as he gazed across Bryte, and it sharpened slightly as it returned to their 'guest.' He steepled his fingers together after laying his sandwich on his plate. "Pride is the root of all sins, and it is often why people have turned away from Him. Or never seek Him to begin with." And it certainly seemed to Andrei as though this man had a fair amount of pride within him.
