The hero is exposed when his crimes are brought to the light of day...
Characters: Xavier, Rogue
Location: New York City
Content/Summery: Xavier attempts to reach out to Rogue. Possible language if it goes bad.
He sat at the small coffee shop, a warm cup on the table before him. His helper for the day was at a book store across the street waiting for his mental call to come and get him. Or an alert if there was trouble.
Xavier didn't expect there to be any. Rogue may have run off, but he firmly believed she was a good person at heart. The entire situation was his fault. If he had taken more time to help her instead of putting their sessions off for increasingly longer periods of time out of his own frustration at not being able to find a way to help her quickly, she would never have taken Sinister up on his offer. The scientist was a manipulative man and did have a chance of succeeding where Xavier had failed.
But his methods would not be in the morally right. They would surely be detrimental to Rogue. He shouldn't have let her leave during the crisis in New Orleans. He should have insisted that she and her mute charges stay at the mansion. He should have tried harder to help her.
At least she had agreed to meet with him. She wasn't so entrapped by Sinister... not yet. And not ever if he could help it.
