Everyone’s coming back for something
Characters: Cassie, OTA
Setting: A crowded coffee shop in New York City then who knows?
Content: Nothing bad
Summary: Cassie is running work errands because even a super hero has a day job.
"And could you pick me up an iced mocha?" was a pretty simple request and one Cassie was happy to oblige when it came directly from Pepper. Or rather, she was happy to oblige until just about everybody on that floor of the office decided she needed to pick up drinks for them, too. "Don't we have interns for this?" she muttered sullenly after she'd taken the last order. The guy who’d just asked for a caramel macchiato (a guy, Cassie realized, that she didn’t even recognize) only shrugged in reply and Cassie turned to hurry towards the elevators before someone else accosted her with a coffee demand. Because, apparently, the coffee provided by Stark Enterprises just wasn't good enough for everybody.
Miraculously, she made it out to the street without any further interruption, grumbling to herself. She was pretty sure she’d come to work at Stark so she wouldn’t have to be a waitress anymore. At least, she consoled herself, she was getting out of the office for awhile and getting paid for it, so that was probably nice. Nice, that is, until she actually got to the coffee shop and found a line to the door at one end of the place and a knot of people waiting for their drinks at the other. Getting the drinks was going to take forever and she was going to have to be that girl, the one with a long list of orders that would get her dirty looks from the people in line behind her and probably annoyed frowns from the baristas. There were a billion other places Cassie would rather be and a billion and one other places she could’ve been right now as Stature. This was definitely not how she’d intended to spend her morning.
