RETRIBUTION Event 06
Characters: Boom Boom, Teddy, Billy, Nick, Remy
Setting: Mutant Town, NYC
Content: Disturbing stuff, probably
Summary: The Mutants in District X have gone crazy and are killing one another and sacrificing people and it's all around gross and frightening.
Objectives:
[Find a way in past mutant power barricades and actual barricades and guards and fires]
[Rescue the hostages! (I'm seeing a trend here, or a running joke, as you will)]
[Clear the area of living mutants]
Notes: Very Lord of the Flies, here. They've probably killed a fat kid with a rock. Anyway, it's like dealing with rioters but these ones are far more dangerous.
The area between Houston and 14th street, spanning Avenues A through D, had long been a primarily mutant neighborhood. It was referred to by the people as "Mutant Town" while authorities labeled it "District X." Over the years it had suffered the same trials that any minority-inhabited city quarter would, but terrors of the past were nothing compared to the horror there after the Bugs began their assault. In start of the second week following the Bugs' message, a powerful mutant proclaimed himself "leader" in Mutant Town and began organizing its inhabitants to prepare for an attack. They built a barrier around the neighborhood, comprised of anything they could find with mutants to stand guard. The police had enough to worry about with the world going crazy and the mutants seemed to be handling themselves perfectly fine. They were left to their own devices.
In only a few days time, by the technological black out, the situation in District X degenerated into chaos. People were terrified as the Bugs continued their sweep Eastward, hitting South America and the West Coast, and Mutant Town was not looking as safe as it had only a few days before. The self-appointed leader, however, decided that no one could come into the neighborhood- or go out. His poorly organized "troops" and those trapped against their will began to rebel. Mutants began slaughtering other mutants and decided to make "sacrifices" of human hostages unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was difficult, even in the midst of so many other problems, for authorities to ignore wanton murder and mass property destruction. Order needed to be restored and District X needed to be cleared of its hysterical residents.
