Across America, just beneath the world we see, exists another world. One full of gods and monsters, of immortals and saints and demons. They walk among us every day and although we don't know it, our every thought fuels their lives. Nevermore is a well-established, long-running game set in the world of American Gods. This particular game has been kicking around IJ in one form or another for years - at the moment our player base is quite small and so we're looking for fresh blood to come join us.

The '16 - '17 academic year is well underway and students are looking forward to the year's first holiday tradition. Hallowe'en is a big deal at this school. According to the Christian learnings, it's when the gates of Hell swing open and the restless spirits haunt the Earth. It's half-true. Hallowe'en is when the restless spirits that haven't yet passed on come out of their resting places and hunt the earth. Problem is, the Academy has lots of those, and not all of them have been buried in the graveyard. On Hallowe'en, all of them will come out. While they're not evil, these spirits, ghosts and phantoms can be mischievous and loud, which makes falling asleep on Halloween practically impossible. Will your costume fool the spirits? Crescent Cove, Maine. A coastal, maritime city with hundreds of years of history, established industry and a typical, if isolated, east coast city. Beneath its outwardly normal appearance, though, it harbors dark secrets. The real city is the one seen in the corner of your eye, the momentary reflection in the mirror, the feeling of being watched on a lonely street. Founded by witches fleeing the horrors of the Salem witch trials in the 17th century, the city has always been a beacon for the supernatural. Today, vampires, werewolves, witches and other things without names live, work, plot and scheme alongside each other, not always aware of the other but always just under the notice of the mortal world. On the fringes, mortal hunters stalk the magical and the monstrous relentlessly, driven by obsessions both pure and tainted. Greater powers, still, influence events, and an impending feeling of fate hangs over the old buildings and creaking docks of the city. Bound Secrets is a play-by-journal roleplaying game (RPG), with an urban-fantasy setting. It features daily activity, original storylines and an open-world format. We look for quality plotting, intelligent characterization and creativity in our players, ones who are willing to help build a fun, enjoyable story and community through active participation and friendly interaction. The game is managed by mods with decades of collective experience, and receives frequent updates in terms of species on offer, locations, plotlines and more. The creatures of the Earth have always been separated into two distinct categories, the Supernatural, and humans, otherwise known as the Children of Eden. Supernaturals are comprised of the superior races; werewolves, vampires, and witches. Humans are considered weak. This, of course, meant that they needed to be protected from themselves, and the best way to protect them, was to enslave them. After all, a human couldn’t eat the apple of sin, if their hands were bound. This is the story of Crescent Hills, a town tucked away in the Rocky Mountains, where the Supernatural rule without fear, and their human slaves obey them without question. But times are changing. The rift between the Supernaturals is growing. Werewolves and witches consider vampires to be abominations. Werewolves and vampires think witches are too human. Vampires and witches think werewolves have no control. Human slaves are witness to it all, and some have decided to use it to their advantage. It has always felt like the Supernatural races and the human race are at war, or at least that the humans have been rebelling against them. The three power houses of the Supernatural have kept them at bay until now, and they believe they are winning the war against the humans. In another part of the Mountains, camps of renegade humans have developed, making it their goal to disrupt Supernatural society in any way possible. Over the last year, attacks on outlying estates, slave “rescues”, and theft of supplies have skyrocketed. Several camps have been raided, and the humans sold into servitude. Little do the owners know, these slaves aren’t just content to serve. Now they are working from the inside, trying to bring down the great Houses of the Supernaturals. Some ‘born’ slaves have been convinced to turn against their Masters, while others remain loyal. A storm is brewing, and only time will tell which side will be victorious. Will you give orders or will you submit? Apply as master or slave and enter the world of supernaturals and humans. Original characters are welcome and encouraged. The game started on September 29th. South Peak National Institution or Supernatural(SPN)High as it's not so affectionally called, is a place where unruly children, teenagers, and adults are sent by either by choice, their parents, or a court of law, to reform and rehabilitate their not so pleasant behaviors. South Peak is special, taking in only the toughest cases. Weres, Shifters, Vampires, Witches, Gifted Humans and other Supernatural beings are taught to control their instincts and blend in with society. Here a talented staff of teachers, Hunters, and officers provide a safe learning environment for all enrolled. Some have rap sheets a mile long, others have been bitten and turned against their will and some were just born with their gifts. But all have one thing in common, they are all stuck in this secluded reformatory high in the Catskills. Can they all learn to coexist? No one knows for sure. | |
