TIME UPDATE [23 Apr 2009|12:33am]
DATE: Monday, January 4, 2010.

WEATHER: Warm and sunny! The clouds have passed! Whether or not that's a good thing, well... you be the judge.

EVENTS: Houston... we're fucked.

No, seriously. Where to begin? Well once the clouds start to clear, those in charge realizing that, judging by the position of the sun, they're going in the wrong direction, so they turn around. Problem is that every couple of hours, the sun is in a drastically different place. And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know - that ain't normal. What's left of the crew is running around in the engine rooms all day trying to figure out if something is broken - but nothing is. The ship has not changed directions and has been going dead straight ever since the captain's announcement. But that can't be possible with the way the sun is moving around! Does... not... compute. Any crew members seen today will look like they are on the last leg of a bad acid trip, frankly.

But wait, you ask. 'What's left of the crew?' Oh yeah, that. Well as you may have guessed, there have been more disappearances. Let's cover this in small groups, shall we? About two dozen members of the crew are gone. Yes, you read that correctly. Two dozen.

Security, which previously had about 45 people, is down to 15. All senior ranking security members are gone. Lower ranks, like Ronnie? Are in for a big surprise. The senior ranks had been hiding a little secret - all security equipment, like surveillance cameras? Are non-functioning, and have been since New Year's Eve.

The medical staff? Once again, we urge you to watch for Leto to learn their fate when she does.

Oh, and one passenger, Deacon, has disappeared. Kevin will notice that five members of his staff are gone as well. But let's recap. That means over 50 people disappeared in one night. While many were previously believing that someone was killing people, one has to sit back and think how the hell is it possible for 50 people to be killed and thrown overboard without any witnesses? It takes some hardcore denial to hold on to that idea. And if you're willing to let go of it? What then? There is no reasonable, rational explanation for what is happening around you. Thus, the fucked part.

What's left of the crew and security is going to be trying desperately to hide the sudden decrease in security in hopes of preventing total chaos. That might last for a few hours, but fifty missing people are going to be noticed. A few members of the crew have switched over to security to try and bulk things up, and if nothing else, protect the captain, and keep people away from him.

If being shorthanded in the kitchen isn't insulting enough, Kevin will find that there has been a robbery overnight. Of... three lobsters? Okaaaaay....

But that's not all! It's not all bad. There are more miracles! Today Cami, Megan, Riffraff, and Nikko the dog have been healed of their New Year's Eve injuries. Yes, you read that right. Nikko the dog. Doggies deserve a miracle just as much as the next meatbag.

And now for the biggest miracle of all. In the sitting room of his room, Gor will find his jade dice on a table, along with a note from housekeeping explaining that they found them in a vent. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Problems [23 Apr 2009|01:00am]
Who: Leto and Genny the NPC
When: Way too early
Where: Leto's room

There was knocking.

Leto felt like she had just gotten to sleep an hour ago, and there was knocking. She rolled over in bed to look at the clock and frowned. Shifting again, she looked over at Levon, who had been sleeping with her. Mercifully, he was still asleep. Leto smoothed the hair on his forehead before climbing out of bed, and hurrying out of the bedroom. Once she made her way to the door, she threw it open. She did not expect to see Genny, looking very awake, wide-eyed, and very nervous.

Well fuck. )

choices [23 Apr 2009|02:18am]
Who: Hector and Leto
When: Shortly after 9
Where: Exam room at the medical station

If he was dead, Leto wanted Dr. Taylor resurrected, just so she could kill him all over again. His notes were burned into her memory, and once Genny had helped her get a basic grip on the situation, the first thing she had wanted to do was see Hector Treves for herself. She'd been hoping against hope that Dr. Taylor had been wrong, even though she'd known that was probably ridiculous. And seeing Hector for herself confirmed it all. This was bad.

Hector had not gotten better since New Year's Eve. He was in pain, real, awful pain, and it wasn't going nowhere. He felt weak, and he wasn't keeping anything in his system. When he'd been woken up and told to come down to the medical station right away, he was hoping that he finally had an answer. Hearing the situation from this nurse was not very encouraging though. "So they're all gone." he repeated. She'd told him that much. And that Dr. Taylor had left a note about him. "But Dr. Taylor knew what was wrong with me?"

Scream [23 Apr 2009|03:01pm]
Who: Maddie, Kaz
Where: Main deck
When: Early Afternoonish
Content: Here be much cursing and possibly some obscene gestures.

Maddie had waited until Slav left her alone. Finally. He was a real sweet boy and he was probably rightfully concerned that she shouldn't leave her room as drunk as she was. So she let him think she was ready to sleep it off.

Small Miracles [23 Apr 2009|03:58pm]
Who: Az, Jean
Where: Attendants of Aphrodite
When: Morning

Jean hadn't woken up Az, even after he read Leto and Sean's notes. He was still in shock. People were missing. No, check that, the entire medical staff was just gone. He wanted to offer aid to the lovely woman who was asking for anyone's help who had any medical training whatsoever. He did. He knew first aid and CPR. But he knew the second there was a single bloody drop of blood, he'd be utterly useless. Best to just stay out of her way. She had enough troubles as it was without him fainting.

So he'd asked the FBI man who'd taken a head count if he needed any help. Not that he could think of anything he could do off the top of his head. But it was something. Something more than just sitting here wondering who was next. When it would stop. What else could go wrong.

Jean sprawled out next to Az, not wanting to wake her, but bloody hell, he didn't want to let go of her either. Ever. But she needed to know. She wasn't some bloody shrinking violet who needed to be coddled and protected all the time. Hell, she'd probably take this better than he was.

Besides, he had some good news as well. Nikko's leg was all better. He had no idea how or what happened, but the huge beast was bounding around on it as if it'd never even been sore. He wished he could be more pleased about it. He really did.

"Azzy," he murmured, nuzzling her cheek. "Wake up, love." This was not going to be easy.

the cut [23 Apr 2009|06:02pm]
Who: Hector, Alex, Micah, Jack, and Leto
When: 11 AM
Where: the medical station

Leto was painfully aware of the fact that the medical station had not meant to be used for surgery. She and Genny had found all of the instruments needed, and cleaned and readied them. After what was to be their operating room was prepared, Genny had promptly high-tailed it out of there, explaining that she was terrified of blood. Leto changed into a pair of scrubs, and put a few more pairs out for the men who would be helping her.

She was as ready as she was going to be.

There's Not Enough Beer For This [23 Apr 2009|06:56pm]
Who: Cathair, Ronnie
Where: Cult of Dionysus
When: Early evening

The dimness of the club was a welcome relief to Cath's exhausted eyes. All day, he'd been holed up in the bloody library, reading. He hadn't done that since university, even when preparing for a mission. And reading a bunch of blarney, as far as he was concerned. It wasn't that Cath didn't completely disbelieve in the supernatural. He was quite certain there was a God and a Devil, angels and demons, and ghosts. But some much of what he'd read was romanticized nonsense written to be entertaining, not informative.

Beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer! )

tinker tinker tinker [23 Apr 2009|11:26pm]
Who: Abbie and open
When: Late morning/early afternoon
Where: the library

Abbie had never fixed a copy machine before, and she felt excited by the new challenge. Okay, technically her mom had told her and her sister to stay put for the day so they wouldn't disappear, but... nobody seemed to be worry about a killer on the loose, so if she was gonna disappear, it didn't matter where she was or who she was with. Right? Abbie thought it was a sound theory. So after talking to that guy on the computer, she and Esper headed down to the library.

Of course, Abbie's version of fixing something for the first time first involved gutting it entirely. Hey, that guy said she couldn't make it more broke. So she sat on the floor in front of the copy machine, surrounded by bits in pieces as she put them back together. Esper, who was very used to this routine, had fallen asleep out of boredom long ago. Abbie scratched at her face after putting a component back in, smearing ink all over her skin. Lesson for next time: copiers have lots of ink. Don't wear anything you care about.
