Ice Skating
Who: Billy and Teddy
Where: Wollman Rink, Central Park, New York City
When: (Forward) December 24th, 2012, before noon.
What: Teddy's never been ice skating before, so Billy is taking him!
Rating: Pg to PG-13.
Teddy's stomach was still doing butterfly flutters as he rented his skates and started putting them on.
Oh, sure, he had roller skated before. He had never ice skated. It wasn't that he was nervous of falling on his butt. It wouldn't hurt him much. He was more nervous of who he was with and how much of a clumsy oaf he was going to make of himself.
But was he happy to be here?
He glanced at Billy as he laced up his own pair of skates. Yeah, he was super happy. It was hard to keep from having a constant grin smeared on his face. There was a very special effect of being around Billy in that all troubles seemed flown except what was directly in his face... which currently was none aside from the prospect of looking foolish. Yet, there was also the perfectly sensible reasoning that he may as well get looking foolish over with in front of Billy. It was bound to happen, and he couldn't pretend to be cool and suave like Kate or Tommy.
Besides, this did look fun! He looked up at the pale sky with its drifts of clouds, puffed out a breath. It was cold, and he had wrapped himself up accordingly, comfortable with hat and scarf, as well as gloves. Least with the sun out it wasn't near as bad temperature wise.
And not an ice giant in sight!
"Well, let's see how ice hurts compared to concrete," he said with a grin, tottering up to his skates. His hands whirled for balance briefly before he steadied. Okay... not so bad! Right?
