Upon hearing that Ariadne had been abandoned by her loser of a date, Tuck had wanted to offer to show up and try to salvage what was left of her evening. She could rant to him and he would try to make her night not a disaster. Of course then she went and invited him and offered him dumplings!

What a delight!

He pulled on what he hoped was a nice shirt and was out the door before he could think twice about it, but not without a goodbye snuggle from Flora. When he walked into the restaurant, he found Ariadne easily. "Hey, you," he said, offering her a hug if she wanted it.

The evening wasn't turning out all bad; Ariadne was very used to dates not working out, and though the frustration remained that some people could be so - just ugh about their views on other people, she had some good friends in the city, and it was hard to be disheartened.

"Hey you," Ariadne said cheerfully in return, pushing her chair back a little (there wasn't a lot of room before it hit the exposed brick wall, but there was enough) so she could stand and hug him. "Mm, thanks for coming, honey," she said, enjoying the hug. He was still all angles, but there was a great antidote to that; their food had arrived moments before he had and the spicy beef dumplings and rich curry was steaming on the table. "I already stole one momo, so you better dig in. I hope you like spicy food."

	"Ah, annoyed," she admitted, since he was asking. "I didn't see this one coming. I never really see them coming, to be honest. But then, he didn't see me coming either, and now I'm the one eating his momo and hopefully he'd thinking about his life choices a little deeper," she added, with a blend of pride an optimism. "There is curry," she agreed, trying to put him out of her head. Maybe she'd come on a little strong, maybe she could have got through to him better if she'd been gentler about it but then again, maybe he'd needed a bit of a slap in the face. You just couldn't tell, and she hoped he was rethinking all his views but maybe he just thought she was crazy. Best to put it out of her head for now and move forward. "And how is the church, and your baby!" she reached out and batted him on the arm, light and friendly. "I haven't seen you in person since - congratulations, daddy!"

	"My baby!" Tuck grinned. Just the mention of Evie was enough to manifest Tuck's phone so he could flick through his photos. He found the one Will had taken of her resting on his chest and he showed it to Ariadne. "Look at herrr! Isn't she perfect?" 	"Of course she is," Ariadne smiled, leaning forward and smiling at the phone. "Oh babies! I do miss having babies - there's no way I'd have another one where my life is, at the moment, but I loved having children. Look at her, that mouth. Oh Tuck, well done to all of you. 	"Little curveballs," Ariadne echoed, amused at his understatement; it was so charmingly British. "Some days life is nothing but curveballs, doesn't it feel like? Tonight, for example." "It's so nice, listening to someone talk about the people they love with such genuine enthusiasm," she told him, with a smile. "So - thank you for coming!
