True to her word, Julia had an entire evening of pampering set for Tinsel. She had given Tinsel a few days to just relax after arriving home from Aspen, and then she had packed an overnight bag and hauled her way to Manhattan to spoil Tinsel rotten. She arrived at the apartment at around 4pm, which would give them time before the masseuse arrived to get reacquainted with each other. Then Julia was going to cook Tinsel dinner.

She shouldered the bag of groceries so she could knock on Tinsel's door, having already been buzzed in. Julia was so excited to see her girlfriend again after so long, she couldn't wait. Tinsel had been busy, and understandably so, but Julia had missed her!

Tinsel emerged from her room like a shuffling monster, making her way to the front door dressed in her January uniform: messy bun, yoga pants, oversized hoodie, and big comfy slippers, and not a lick of makeup on her face. January was "no effort" month through and through, although she had almost shaved her legs that morning, knowing Julia was coming, but stopped at her knees. And she showered before returning to her burrowing, so she was clean at least.

"Heeyyy," she said, smothering a yawn as she opened the door, the hood of her hoodie pulled down over her forehead. "Long time no see, girl." With a smile, she leaned in for a kiss before she looked at what Julia had brought. "What is all this?"

	"Pampering supplies!" Julia said, grinning madly. She was so happy to see Tinsel again, and the messy bun she was rocking was hot. "You are a sight for sore eyes, hottie," Julia said with a smirk. "Lemme put these bags down so I can give you a real hug." Which she did once her arms were free. "I missed you!" she said, burying her face in Tinsel's neck. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Tinsel hugged Julia back. It was so nice to see a face that didn't belong to someone she was related to or employed. "Mmm, you too," she said, closing her eyes and giving Julia a squeeze. "How are you? Good? What exactly are the supplies?" She tipped her head to look at the bags, unconsciously starting to try and manage the situation and arrange where things were to go.

	Julia followed Tinsel and she chuckled a little, "I came over to pamper you! I brought supplies to make an easy goulash since it's delicious and good winter food. It's my mother's recipe. 	"Oh, sounds great!" Tinsel went to pick up the bags to take them into the kitchen, but then paused and looked up at Julia. "Wait. Do I have to get changed or anything?" 	"Yeah, it's great just... not answering the phone." Tinsel laughed a little and ruffled her hand in her hair. "January is always such a weird moment. Everything just stops and I retreat into my cave. Christmas is always so full on. Especially this year." She pulled a face, the image of Krampus hanging around making her grimace. "Oh-" Tinsel rolled her head back with a groan. "He's just such a massive bag of coal," she said, great angry emphasis on the last word because she couldn't make it sound any worse. "Imagine giving people adult toys for Christmas! In front of my mother!" She flopped down on the sofa with an irritated growl. "It went straight in the bin of course, no way I'm touching anything he gives me. And he's so rude to everyone because he thinks its funny and that everyone else thinks he's funny. Poor Donna was mortified."

"Donna's my niece, technically," Tinsel said. "Though she's more than twice my age. Carol's daughter. She really doesn't like Krampus but she's not as aggressive about it as me, hah." She smirked. She knew how angry she'd been, ranting about dear old uncle Krampus to anyone who would listen. But that reminded her about how her mother had acted. "I don't understand how forgiving of him my parents are. I asked Mom to tell him to leave and she made excuses and wouldn't do it, kept deferring to Dad, who always thinks he has everything under control, of course. It's so frustrating!"

Tinsel made a sound of disgust. "Gave inappropriate stuff to my brother Henry and his husband too. Kind of embarrassed Iestyn quite a lot. He ended up being asked to leave on Boxing Day after he made one of the elves cry and Poppy threatened to stop working if it wasn't dealt with. And I mean, that's like, that's big, for one of our little helpers. They never make big stands like that, so for Poppy to speak up like that was really something. Mom had to listen." She sighed gustily. "Aside from that, it was a usual Christmas. Did a bit of skiing. Haven't done that since last year."

Julia made a face at that. "So he was embarrassing people right and left and only got asked to leave when the elves spoke up. Don't get me wrong, good on Miss Poppy! And I am glad your mom listened when she did, but she should have listened to you too. Sucks that that guy could hone in on your family time like that."

Julia ran her fingers through her short hair before saying, "I have literally never been skiing in my life. Is it fun?"

	"She should've. But she has a history of thinking she knows best." Tinsel shrugged and rolled her eyes. "But skiing, yeah, it's something I enjoy. I've been skiing since I was a kid, so I learned early. It's a steep learning curve, if you ever want to try it!" Watching people learn to ski was always an exercise in humility for the new person. 	"I have seen people ski into walls, so wear pillows strapped all over or something." Tinsel smiled back at Julia. "Missed you too. It's nice having someone, like, outside of all the festive madness, you know? And it doesn't hurt that you're amazingly hot." She grinned, and nodded to the bags. "Oh hell yeah, girl!" Julia jumped up and headed for the bag of groceries. She pulled the bottle out and opened it up, letting it breathe for a second as she located wine glasses in Tinsel's kitchen.

Once she returned, it was with two glasses of a full-bodied merlot. "Here you are, beautiful. Hope it hits the spot. I spent Christmas with my sister and her family which was pretty cute. Low key and refreshing."

Tinsel glanced at the clock and yawned, due to lack of activity, not because she was tired. "What time's this person coming?" she asked, and looked at the messy coffee table. She'd told Misty to take some time off with the other elves in Aspen, mostly so Tinsel wasn't disturbed by anyone in her hibernation state, but it did expose areas where she'd grown a little too used to having someone around to pick up after her. "Do we need to clean up first?"
