Making good on a bet

After the immediate celebrations were over, Ellie - still quite proudly in her Montrose kit - wasn't surprised to see Florrie and Merc making their way over. She did, however, take pause at the fact that Maddock was with them. Now, she knew full what she did when she picked this shirt to wear today, but she didn't quite have the full foresight to consider what would happen or how it would read if he saw her in it after a match.

Ellie also was sure that she fired the first shot. "Now, now, now I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have to turn down any recruitment offers - despite what might be going through your mind right now."

Florrie offered a big hug if Ellie was taking.

"That was a good match. And Dibble deserved that quaffle, I don't care what the referee said."

Ellie hugged Florrie back because at this point, Ellie remains blissfully unaware about how much Florrie is potentially spying on her team.

"What can I say? I'm a good influence," she said with a grin.

It wasn't completely out of the ordinary for Maddock to show up at a Portree match... but he was worried about Ellie since the Fall Classic, so this is a rather spontaneous. One of those doing instead of thinking of the consequences/implications decisions.

"Your team did good. I'm all for Chaser interference." Maddock offered Ellie a hug (Because that's not awkward right?) if she wanted it. "You always looked good in my shirts," he said with a wink just to her.

No, it would have more awkward not to hug. Or just stand there attempting to hug. And while it would pale in comparison to her more typical approach of jumping off her broom at him after match -- that was a different lifetime ago.

Ellie returned the hug and also gave him a good punch on the arm -- because that is quite obviously what adults do. "I seem to remember a different opinion, but I think we can all agree you look best topless."

Hugs are good. Not as good as the tackle hugs, but that was not their life anymore. And he laughed at the punch he got instead. "I do have more than one opinion. There is a time and place, MacFusty," he said teasing. "Now you're just stroking my ego."

"Sure that's not all you'd like me to stroke."

"You're going to make Florrie blush and get me in trouble. Besides, you're the winning coach today. It's lady's choice."

Merc laughed. "Well as much as we all need a ball of chaos in the lineup, I'm afraid there's no openings. But, for posterity...picture in case one comes up?" He gave a teasing smile and held up the wizarding camera with him.

Ellie had just been around to volley back to Maddock when Merc spoke. Right. Not the time or place.

"Bet's a bet, right?"

She then looked back over to Maddock. The only warning that she was jumping at him and expected to be caught was a slight grin and a tilt of her head.

Not much of a warning but that's what Quidditch reflexes are for, right? Maddock caught her first of all and laughed. Getting the idea of what she wanted, he hoisted her up to his shoulders so she could get up on his back.

Once caught and appropriately raised to the right position, she threw her hands in the air and yelled 'DRAGON!'

(Merc now is your first photo opportunity.)

First picture right there! ....with Maddock cropped out.

(and then one with him because it's too ridiculous)

"Well let nobody say you don't honour your bets now! By the way, congrats on the win. On the snitch too I noticed!"

Florrie was willing to take the picture since Elsie was posing!

Once all desired pictures are taken, Ellie makes a clicking noise and instructs Maddock to carry her away. "Onward!"

At this point, Ellie doesn't really care too much about the pictures or what Merc is going to do with them. Her team won today, it's hardly some great insult to wear this Montrose kit, and there is still the back half of the season to worry about.

She'll be back. (And she might even be reasonable to deal with over Christmas in terms of team rivalry.)
