Who: Pride of Portree Players & Staff
What: Hell Week -- to challenge and test the endurance of the team because did you see the Falcon v. United match? 20 hours! Also with the Golden Neep and Post Season, they are going to be busy. (Use this as planning or threading fun!)

GENERAL SCHEDULE

6a-9a »» Captain’s Sessions
A mix of running, strength training, and agility drills with Lorna and Alasdair at the helm. Other staff members are at the pitch to oversee and be available as resources if needed because Ellie won’t be there.

9a-12p »» Break!
Nothing official planned. Nap if you need it. (Please nap!) Time for one-on-ones if needed.

12p-2p »» Strategy Sessions
Lunch strategy meetings. Menu by Maggie. Reviewing old matches. Focusing on styles of other teams, with a bit more focus on Montrose. One day might even be media training/PR stuff, just to cover all bases here.

2pm onward »» Coach’s sessions
Lots of scrimmages in weird variations. They will be playing down, she might challenge players to play as if they have an injury, not using an arm, or any other weird thing you might think of. Most days players will be out by 5pm.

Exceptions:
Saturday, 3 February, training 7am-1pm
Sunday, 4 February a day of rest. (you're welcome)
Thursday, 8 February team will be dismissed just after 9am.
Friday, 9 February is the day at the Dragon Reserve.

	Ellie nodded. "Because you're a first year player. Can't say endurance is your strongest suit." She meant nothing bad about it. Facts were facts. "And you'll be starting against the Harpies. Plus seeing more pitch time the back half of the season and with the Golden Neep." "So, yes, I want to know how you're doing because I'm pushing everyone to the limit." "No, pushing everyone to the limit would have been letting us off over an hour ago because we're having twelve-hour practices for a week straight," David replied, and dusted off his hands. He knew endurance wasn't his strongest attribute. He was working on it. "This? Is not safe. Nearly eighteen-hour practices? No. You're not testing endurance, you're running people into the ground under the guise of endurance." There were a lot of other things David could say, and wanted to say, but he just shook his head and started moving towards the water coolers.

Be Braw. She heard the voice and might have looked across the training pitch to actually catch Maggie. Be very, very braw.

"Your concern is noted. I am working close with Maggie this week to ensure this is as safe as possible." It was brutal, yes. There was some level of risk, and the exhaustion was intended. She also expected push back. "However, the reality is that quidditch matches can last for days. Just this week the Falcons and Puddlemere match went on for over 20 hours."

"I am asking a lot of you, but I don't want anyone blindsided or falling apart during a long match especially as our schedule becomes tighter."

David almost rolled his eyes. "Yes, I'm aware. I'm also aware that any match over twelve hours entitles plays to a two-hour time-out, and that there's been at least one case where a World Cup match lasting over a week allowed for substitutes. And prior to the Falcons and Puddlemere match, the longest one had been eight hours, less than half that time. I'm not saying don't prepare for it, but I am saying that you are very close to the edge of what is legally permitted under federal work laws." He said tersely.

"Yes, very close but not over." Ellie doubted very much that between Owen, Bart, and Cav they would actually violate those laws. The team had breaks every morning from 9am to noon. And then even their longer sessions had brief periods of rest every 2 hours, more depending on need, with at least one thirty minute block for meals. Ellie thought it was practically civil.

She paused a beat.

"Is there something else I should be made aware of?" She said, expectant. Ellie walked a fine line with David, especially with who his father was. But right now she wanted to know if this was her player speaking, or ownership.

	David doubted Bart would actually cross the line. Whether or not Owen and Cav would, he wasn't as confident. Biting back a scowl, he said, "Nothing that should be addressed at this moment, in this particular setting." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Alright. Thank you for voicing your concern. If there is something that needs to be discussed I do hope we can do so in the appropriate time and setting before it gets out of hand."

She wouldn't press the issue, but rather just file it away and probably ask Bart for his read on David later. This was exactly the sort of position she didn't really know how to navigate.

"I'll leave you to your break, but there is an end in sight."
