WHO: Everyone! IC/OC
WHEN: Thursday, 21 December 1999
WHERE: The Manor House, Macmillan Park
SUMMARY: Mid-Season (Christmas) Party hosted by the Montrose Magpies at Macmillan Park, cocktail dresses and blazers suggested.
RATING: Low

The Macmillan Family welcomes you to to Macmillan Park for the Mid-Season Yule party for all of Scottish Quidditch (and then some).

The Manor House is decorated for the season, with each room on the first floor having a display of its own. The public areas of the garden are also decorated and kept at a comfortable temperature (as long as you are wearing a cloak) with plenty of warming charms. Christmas crackers are available on all of the tables for all of your paper crown and terrible joke needs.

Finger foods and drinks (alcoholic and non) are plentiful. Eggnog can be made either way and if you want a hot chocolate with a splash of whisky, nobody is going to bat an eye. Entertainment is provided by the Tomnahurich Quartet and the Calanais Singers throughout the night in the main hall. A selection of seasonal songs in the muggle and wizarding traditions were planned, but both groups will take requests. They will be performing both together and separately.

For any children who joined their parents in the festivities, they have their own party going on upstairs in the rarely-used nursery (think very large and extensive playroom with bedrooms nearby and a schooling area). There are kid friendly foods, including sandwiches, personal pizzas in seasonal shapes, a Hot Chocolate Bar, and cherry flavored fizzy drinks. There are, of course, plenty of sweets to be had as well.

What they are like (if they're Angus): fun, energetic, allergic to being serious. He takes her down the floor in an impromptu reel, which is a dance he only halfway knows how to really do but he does it with enthusiasm!

"How're you liking Scotland?" he asks. "Bit different from Canada, eh?" (He is 100% fishing for info about Canada for reasons of his own.)

Anais makes a surprised sound, but finds it easy enough and seems to go with it. Spontaneity!

“Actually, less so than we thought. Quebec especially,” she says. “Home is colder, but generally speaking the weather and scenery are quite alike. We’re enjoying it so far, at any rate.”

"Aha," he answers thoughtfully. "Weel, that's good." He spins her out for a minute, and when he brings her back in he asks, super casual, "Ever been to a place called Charlottetown? Prince Edward Island?"

"Once or twice," Anais shrugs, her facial expression showing it's clearly of little consequence. "Not much room for Quidditch there."

"No Quidditch?" He acts dramatically appalled at the very thought. "Poor folk, I dinna ken how they survive it." He grins at her. "I'm headin' out that direction in the New Year for a wee visit. Want me to pick you up anything from home?"

She raises an eyebrow a little, because it's not often that people go there from the UK in her experience. "Oh really?" she enquires.

Then Anais politely declines with a shake of the head. "Pip and I are going back for the day itself," she confirms. "It's his birthday too."
