WHO: Everyone! IC/OC
WHEN: Thursday, 21 December 1999
WHERE: The Manor House, Macmillan Park
SUMMARY: Mid-Season (Christmas) Party hosted by the Montrose Magpies at Macmillan Park, cocktail dresses and blazers suggested.
RATING: Low

The Macmillan Family welcomes you to to Macmillan Park for the Mid-Season Yule party for all of Scottish Quidditch (and then some).

The Manor House is decorated for the season, with each room on the first floor having a display of its own. The public areas of the garden are also decorated and kept at a comfortable temperature (as long as you are wearing a cloak) with plenty of warming charms. Christmas crackers are available on all of the tables for all of your paper crown and terrible joke needs.

Finger foods and drinks (alcoholic and non) are plentiful. Eggnog can be made either way and if you want a hot chocolate with a splash of whisky, nobody is going to bat an eye. Entertainment is provided by the Tomnahurich Quartet and the Calanais Singers throughout the night in the main hall. A selection of seasonal songs in the muggle and wizarding traditions were planned, but both groups will take requests. They will be performing both together and separately.

For any children who joined their parents in the festivities, they have their own party going on upstairs in the rarely-used nursery (think very large and extensive playroom with bedrooms nearby and a schooling area). There are kid friendly foods, including sandwiches, personal pizzas in seasonal shapes, a Hot Chocolate Bar, and cherry flavored fizzy drinks. There are, of course, plenty of sweets to be had as well.

Georgi is here! He is dressed in the nicest robes he brought with him from Bulgaria, which are a slightly updated version of wizarding belodrešnik ("white dress", a traditional style of costume). He's pretty shy around cameras even after all this time and doesn't smile much, but he greets everyone he knows cheerfully and is cordial when introduced to new people.

And yes, please, he'll take a drink.

Mel finds Georgi a bit after he's arrived and starts introducing him round to younger girls that he's known forever, eligible under the age of about 25. The Parkinsons who own Wigtown have a some-remove-of-niece, that kind of thing.

Between introductions he points out other girls that might be of interest.

Aw, buddy <3 Georgi does his best to make a good impression while also being both shy and nervous, so mostly he falls back on being formal and polite and extremely proper. I doubt that good impression is VERY good, but his family status in terms of both purebloodedness and wealth makes him a lot more attractive (and also, I mean, some people find shyness and big ears cute; also he's a Quidditch star, so bonus?).

He doesn't make an instant connection with any of these young ladies, but he wasn't really expecting to, and at least the intros have been made and everybody's intentions are on the table, so there's that. He's very grateful to Mel for his help.

Mel's operating theory is that the more girls Georgi meets and the clearer it is that he's looking for connections, the more likely he is to have further opportunities to get to know the girls and make second impressions.

Also the girls need to make a good impression on Georgi, which is something that will eventually come up.

If he meets a half dozen or so girls and has a chance to maybe dance with them later, between team members and staff and the McGonagall and Macmillan ladies, Georgi will have had a successful party in Mel's opinion.

Georgi is a little tongue-tied because Kenna looks so pretty D: But he manages to say hello and compliment her dress without fumbling too much, and is happy to meet her father.

Owen makes it a point to introduce himself to Georgi, and asks how he's enjoying the Magpies so far.
