Aureliana had to remind herself that the grand opening for the storefront was supposed to be a celebration, but also laid-back, with the focus on the brooms rather than the party itself. A meet and greet with Jason took place several times throughout the event and kids could come in and enjoy the Build A Mini Broom station where they could "customize" a little palm-sized toy broom.

The centerpiece of the store was Jason's new racing broom for everyone to admire. If you were interested in purchasing a custom broom yourself, someone was available to make an appointment. For everyone who was not in the immediate market for a new broom, there was also a line of accessories available for purchase. Gloves, goggles, broom maintenance kits, and the like.

There is a selection of finger sandwiches, cheese, veggies, cupcakes, and Scottish shortbread to snack on. Butterbeer and sparkling wine are also available. For favors, there are little goodie bags filled with chocolate candies fashioned to look like brooms.

"You stopped her from WHAT?" Florrie says, and it's only because they're discussing medical information that Florrie is not actually yelling. She grabs Maggie by the arm and drags her into the loo, locking the door behind them.

She's furious, but not really at Maggie.

"She knows better. She took a bludger to the HEAD! I am going to KILL her. Thank you for keeping her off a broom at least. With all the beater injuries we've had this year ..."

This is the day Maggie dies. That's braw. Her headstone will read,

SHE PARTIED TOO HARD
AND PROVOKED THE MCGONAGALLand, you know, that's fine. She's made her peace with it. Bon voyage, world, it's a shame she never got to see the Rangers win the Stanley Cup.

Except... Florrie doesn't chew her out, not does she give Maggie such a disapproving look that her will to live stops right then. (It's close, though.)

The younger one crosses her arms but doesn't say anything — she's learned already that the more information she offers unprompted, the deeper the hole gets.

Maggie leaned back against the wall and took off her sunglasses to pinch the bridge of her nose. Remembering everything from the night before was... a chore.

"Too many. Dozen, maybe, after shots." She sighed, eyes still closed and fingers still pinching her nose. "Few fags. Nothing harder, then the potions you sent over– which, ta, an' nothin' harder. Food was shawarma an' a fry-up." Reliving all of these experiences wasn't making her feel her best.

Florrie buried her face in her hands for a moment. "Merlin's wrinkly ball-sack."

Someone rapped on the door and Florrie straightened up and yelled, "Back up the broom, I'll be out in a mo!" which was probably more than Maggie needed to hear at that volume at this moment.

"It's not on you. She knew better for the drinking and the partying and the fags and the getting on a broom. She's not a wee bairn any more and has to live with her choices. Thank you for stopping her from getting on a broom, at least."

Small blessings seem even smaller when someone's just shouted in the very small room you're a co-occupant of.

Wincing, Maggie can manage nothing more at first than acknowledging Florrie via finger guns with her free hand. Eventually her other hand leaves her face and she looks up at the blurry form of the Montrose medic. Yeah, she's pretty sure she's making eye contact. "S'not my place to say, but..." she pauses and waves in the air pointlessly. "She's havin' a rough go of it. Emotionally. We may've... exchanged words."

	"She has to be, with George and Oighrig, and freshly married and all. I get the feeling she doesn't hear the word 'no' a lot," Florrie said. "I'm not surprised she took a refusal badly, if that's what you mean. Some people don't solve their problems. They just try to outfly them. And this one, she can't." 	The topic of players retiring due to injury was one she was aware of but not intimate with until recently, and it still made her uneasy. Now that things were back in focus and she could actually make out features again, her eyes fixed on Florrie instead of whatever piece of scenery was available. You know, in the WC.
