Who: Batman, and those others that show up.
What: First annual vigilante meeting.
Where: Corbinian's Original Location, and The Bat's Chosen Location, and it ain't no office space. Blueprints.
When: Wednesday/Thursday Evening. Midnight forward. (Meeting was scheduled for 1 AM at original location, but with transport time your character may arrive later--unless they went early, as the information to the actual meeting place was posted just after 7 PM.)
Notes and Warnings: (See OOC info post.) Also: 1) There have been rumors of other locations. Attendees need to have received the information from Corbinian, or from someone he gave it to directly. Logical NPCs can be used for this purpose, I think. 2) There are hidden charges in the basement ceiling. Details were given to Robin here.
Corbinian's original location now sported a door peppered with flyers and old Seattle Times articles. Passerby (though in that area, there were few) would find nothing to see, but those that were there for a meeting could look close and see that the flyers made a pattern. There was an article on the rumored Batman, and right below that there was a flyer for a real estate open house; the flyer boasted an address and a photo.
Twenty years ago it was a suburb, but now it's no more than a mile away by foot, and that's if you take the streets.
The reality was far more run-down than the photo, which hadn't been inspiring to begin with. The front door was bricked up, forcing those who arrived to move through the weedy yard and take an obviously open door down into the basement, which opened up, unbelievably, into a pool. The smell of chlorine was strong, but the pool definitely didn't look sanitary. Arrivals would find cell phones, ipods, radios, electronic sensors, incendiary devices with electric triggers, digital watches, and anything that worked with a signal or drew power from electricity go out with faint popping noises as they got within range. Batman's electromagnetic pulse was an impossibly strong little device hidden in the walls of the house, and the otherwise harmless pulse went off about every two and a half minutes. All it takes is one pulse to take out a device, and it stays broken. So much for staying connected or recording anything that is said.
The light is low inside, but not so much that it's impossible to see. Batman has made himself fairly visible, standing by one of the pillars with his cloak drawn back and his torso, hands and legs clearly visible--if you didn't count all that armor. He was tense as a bowstring, but he was there early, and he had made this place as safe as he could considering the circumstances.
