Minor Injury Meme

A meme for those minor injuries that won't leave you down but make it hard to live your life. The breaks, sprains, and the hurt/comfort that comes with them.

INJURIES

1. SPRAIN: you stepped the wrong way, twisted the wrong way, and something has gone terribly wrong. Just remember RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

2. FRACTURE: You step off the sidewalk, working in the backyard, and suddenly BAM!! But it's not a sprain, oh no, you're in a cast for the duration. Good luck trying to get to work.

3. PULLED: It's not bad enough for medical attention but it still hurts something fierce. Break out the tiger balm or someone to give you a hand because you've pulled something. That awkward moment when you think you want vicodin...and nobody will give it to you.

4. MIGRAINE: Light hurts, air hurts, moving hurts. All you can do is lie in a darkened room and pray for the pounding pain to go away behind your eyes.

5. THE FLU: Maybe you're physically fine – well… all your limbs are working. You just feel like death warmed over.

6. WILDCARD: Anything else you can think of.

SCENARIOS

1. INJURED! WHAT NEXT?: You're out working, you're out having fun, you're out doing something when suddenly you step, twist, move and our bodies demonstrate just how fragile they really are. Quick! someone call the ambulance!

2. THE EMERGENCY ROOM: All the fun of a waiting room with rewards that include crutches, casts, X-Rays, vicodin, and sometimes just that one nurse who says "Yeah there's nothing wrong with you that'll be 400 dollars."

3. HOME AND SETTING UP THE NEST: Hurt, trying to make a space for you to get around. Hopefully someone is there to help you get to your crutches so you can go to the bathroom and make yourself something to eat.

4. PHYSICAL THERAPY HOME EDITION: The obligatory smut option. Do you not see that I'm wearing this cast?

5. OH GOD HELP I'M GOING TO DIE: That awkward moment when the fact that you are bedridden is crushing down on you and you're terrified you'll do something to make the injury worse. Snappish, angry, and rude - who are you going to take it out on?

6. DRIVE ME TO THE DOCTOR THIS SHIT IS COMING OFF: It's time, they say you can come in, take it off, and begin the next stage of recovery. Failing that, you’re going to grab a saw and cut the damn thing off yourself! Will there be joy, laughter, crying, happiness?

7. WILDCARD: Anything else you can think of.

Terry knew that Daniel was scared. He could tell. He stepped forward, brandishing the gauntlet. "I could kill you with this. All I have to do is put it on." He told him, not breaking eye contact. "I heard you have a little boy now. And he has powers too. Do you think he'd like to meet his Uncle Terry?"

He liked his lips, eying Daniel up and down. "You look like you could still take a nice long hard cock, LaRusso."

Daniel swallowed hard, forcing himself to look at Terry. Wide brown eyes staring into steel blue ones. "You could. But I don't think you will. I think if you were going to do it, you would've done it already."

He flinched a little at the mention of Lukas. "Leave him out of this. You wanted me. I'm here, aren't I?"

He wanted to shrink away from Terry's gaze, to hide from view, but he forced himself to stay absolutely still. "Of course. You taught me well."

Stepping up to Daniel, he ran his hand along the gauntlet. "No. I want to kill everyone you love. How are Sam and Anthony? How do you think Sam would like it if I gave her the same initiation that I gave to you?" He asked, wondering if he should hit Daniel with the gauntlet, without putting it on.

There was a noise then, and Thor was slowly getting down the stairs. "Leave, Mr. Silver." Thor said, and lifted his hand, and his hammer came flying through the air into his hand. "And if you threaten my boyfriend or our son again, I will take great pleasure killing you with my hammer."

Silver just looked at him, as thunder began to sound, and Thor lifted Moljnier, the noise was deafening. Thunder crackled out of his hammer. "Leave." Thor repeated, ignoring the migraine in his head. He was gearing up to hit the older man, as Silver reached out and yanked Daniel towards him, wrapping his arm around Daniel's waist.

"You go near any of my kids and I will kill you," Daniel promised with the venom that which only a protective parent who would do anything to keep their family safe from harm possessed.

He would die for his kids.

He would die for Thor.

His family was everything to him.

He had never been more relieved to hear Thor's thunderous roar. That relief quickly turned to fear as Silver grabbed him. Wide, frightened eyes fixed on Thor as he tried to slither out of Terry's grip.

Thor growled, and ran the rest of the way down the stairs. He noticed Louie on the floor, and he knew that Daniel had had to take that hard. He grabbed Daniel easily away. "Go get somewhere safe, sweetheart." He told him, and snatched the gauntlet from Silver.

Who, to his credit, did seem to be looking scared now. Thor dropped it to the floor, all the while, ignoring his pounding head. He smashed the gauntlet to smithereens, breaking all of the stones. Even if he wanted to, Silver couldn't use it to hurt anyone.

Pressing the hammer against Silver's head, Thor said, "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." The man remained silent, but his cocky grin was gone.

	Daniel tried to calm himself down, even though he was trembling like a leaf. He made no move to leave the room though, just watched Thor and Terry. He knew Terry deserved a slow and painful death. He had murdered Louie. He had threatened Daniel's family. But Daniel didn't want Thor to have to live with that burden. "Thor... Don't..." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Thor kept his gaze on Silver, who was about to pee his pants. "I have killed before, love, I was a soldier." He told Daniel, as if he was reading his boyfriend's mind. "But I think we'd better call the cops, it's the only way to keep Lukas from finding out." He said, but he didn't like it. "Call the police, you witnessed him killing Louie." He wished that he could change that. If only because he was Daniel's family.

"I'm not going to take my hammer off him until they get here." He said, he wanted this man to pay. "Although my head is killing me." He wished it would stop, if it was a premonition, it wasn't Terry they were being warned about.

Daniel pulled out his phone with shaky hands and called 911. He relayed what had happened. Just saying the words made him feel sick to his stomach. He tried not to look over at Louie's corpse, the way his skin was paling as the heat left his body.

He was terrified that Terry would simply be able to buy his way out of trouble. He probably had cops and judges in his pocket all over America. But he couldn't just let Thor kill him.

He hung up the phone and slid it back into his pocket. "They're on their way." He took a step closer to Thor and Terry, looking Terry up and down. "Every second of every day of the rest of your life. You'll know you're only alive because I was taught the fucking meaning of mercy. You've been in my head all these years. And now... now I'm gonna be in yours, you motherfucker."

Thor looked at Daniel then, wishing that he could put his arms around him. "You will be okay, Daniel. And you're right. You're going to be in this fucker's mind for the rest of his life." Terry was quiet, Thor could tell that he was too scared to open his mouth. Thor kept his hand tightly on Silver's arm, not letting him go anywhere. Thor blinked, if this wasn't hugely important, he'd be lying down with his head in Daniel's lap.

"I'll always be in your head, LaRusso." Silver said, and then Thor pulled the hammer away and slapped Silver so hard he almost fell to the floor. "Do not speak to him. You've lost your speaking to Daniel privileges." Thor told him, glad that Sam had Lukas upstairs, and Silver didn't know what either of them looked like.

Silver was quiet, and then he looked at Thor, holding a hand to his face. "Then maybe you'd like to know that Lucille is in danger as well."

"Bullshit." Daniel felt like the walls were closing in on him. Like someone had pressed his lungs into a vice and were cranking it tighter and tighter. This could not be happening. It just couldn't.

What if he wasn't bullshitting.

He pushed by Thor and grabbed Terry by the shoulders. "Whatever plan you have in motion - put a stop to it! Now!!" He tried to keep his voice commanding but there was an unspoken please that lingered in his eyes.

"I can't stop it. It's already in motion, little boy." Terry told him, and Thor hit him again, Silver's eye was swelling. Thor didn't care, this man was lucky he was still breathing. Thor knew that Daniel couldn't handle losing his mother, not permanently. Which he supposed technically had already happened, since they hadn't heard from her in months. Thor knew her being dead was a completely different thing though.

Thor gave him a look. Silver shrugged a shoulder. "She should be running out of oxygen right now." Silver said, and flinched as Thor pulled the hammer back up, pressing it against Silver's chest. "Where is she, motherfucker?" Thor asked, pressing Silver up against the wall, just shy of pressing too hard to cut off his air.

"Where is she?!" He repeated, growling.

Whatever facade of bravado Daniel had been able to pull off completely shattered. All these years later and Terry Silver still had an iron grip on him one way or another. His chest ached, he felt like his heart was going to break, and his lungs crush.

Those big, brown Bambi eyes settle on Terry, begging, imploring him. "Mr Silver... please... where is she? Please just make it stop... I'll give you anything. Just please... spare her..."

Silver looked at Daniel, the eyes weren't going to work on him. Thor's huge muscles flexing, preparing to hit him again, that might work. He looked at Thor, measuring up if he wanted to be struck again, and he really didn't.

Sighing, he turned his gaze back to Daniel. "She might already be dead. One of my associates went to her house, was instructed to kill her."

	Tears rolled down Daniel's cheeks as he thrust his phone at Terry. "Call them and tell them it's off. Tell them to back off, that there's been a change of plan. Please, Mr Silver..." "Look at it this way, Silver, do you want to be on the hook for two murders?" Thor asked, still pressing his hammer into the older man's chest, and giving him a glare. That was true, and he hoped that Silver would take that into consideration.

Sighing again, Silver took the phone, and said, "Look, I'm not going anywhere, I think your little girlfriend needs some comfort." He looked at Thor briefly as he said this, and brandished Daniel's phone. "Look, I'm calling, so don't hit me. I can't talk with a broken jaw."

That was true, and Thor hated it. He removed his hammer from Silver's chest, and tugged Daniel to him, he was crying, and Thor hated for him to be so upset, even if he knew that the situation warranted it. "It's going to be okay, love." Thor whispered to him, wrapping his arm around Daniel's waist tightly.

"Graves? It's Silver. Call off the LaRusso thing." Silver was saying into the phone, A beat of silence, and he said, "Okay. Sorry, man, we just got caught. I'd suggest you run. First degree murder is a bitch." He handed the phone back to Daniel.

"Sorry, little boy. Too late."

Daniel saw red. He tore himself free from Thor's grip and flung himself at Terry, fists flying. He poured every ounce of his anger and pain into that one-inch point of his knuckles, driving into Terry, over and over. With that same relentless, venomous ferocity that Terry himself had unlocked in him all those years ago.

"You fucking sonofabitch."

Thor let him hit Terry, but then he had to pull him off. "Baby, you don't want to have to deal with the fact that you murdered someone, okay?" He said, easily lifting Daniel off of the older man. Who now looked like he couldn't stand up. Which Thor thought was justified. He hopefully was going to spend the rest of his life in jail, however short it may be.

He wrapped his arms around Daniel. "It's gonna take some time... and it will never be completely okay. But it won't hurt as much." Thor told him, both of his parents were dead, and he knew that he could reasonably say that, and it was relatively true.

"Plus, sweetheart, do you want Lukas to be able to suss that out? That you killed someone? However justified it may be." Thor told him, crushing Daniel to him tightly, completely understanding the impulse.

	Daniel went limp against Thor, like someone had taken all of his bones and replaced them with jello. His mind shut down. Those usually so expressive baby browns dull and devoid of any emotion. He had well and truly clocked out. The lights were on, but no one was home. He didn't even seem to acknowledge the sirens as the police showed up. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The police asked a million questions, which Thor knew that Daniel wasn't really present for. Not that he blamed him. This was awful. And it was only going to get worse, there was going to be a trial eventually, and Thor knew that losing both his mother and his cousin on the same day was going to pack a huge wallop.

Not to mention Daniel already had PTSD. Thor left the police and CSI team downstairs to do their job and then insisted that his boyfriend was going to need some time to adjust to what had happened, and took him upstairs.

Thor settled Daniel on the bed, ignoring the pounding in his head. Lukas and Sam had been waiting for them to come up, and Thor could tell they had questions. "Sam, why don't you take Lukas to his room and play? I promise, I will come and answer questions in a bit, okay?"

Looking at Daniel, Sam nodded. Holding Lukas, she went over to Daniel. "Dad, whatever happened, we're here for you. Anthony will be when he gets home from next door, but you know we love you." She held Lukas down so he could kiss Daniel's cheek and tell him that he loved him, and then they left the room.

It was that bad that Daniel barely even acknowledged Sam and Lukas, just gave a soft sound to let them know he had heard them and appreciated it. Once they were out of the room, he curled up in the fetal position and cried himself to sleep.

When he eventually awoke, he made no attempt to move. He still felt numb and listless. "... Did they find my Ma? Do I need to identify her?"

Thor hadn't left Daniel's side more than he had to. He was at the dresser, his long blonde hair hanging down his back, wet. He was only wearing a towel, he had just gotten out of the shower. "No, baby, but we need to go and answer some questions at the police station. You've been asleep for twelve hours." Thor told him, turning to look at him.

"I was trying to let you sleep as long as possible." Mostly because he knew that once you woke up, it was still real. Thor leaned down to caress Daniel's cheek. "Are you okay? I mean, I know you're not, but can you handle what you need to handle?"

Thor ached for Daniel, but he ached for Sam and Lukas. They wanted to be there for Daniel, and Lukas understood what Daniel was going through, to a degree. He just wanted his papa.

Daniel didn't want to move and he definitely didn't want to have to face the police, but he knew he had to. He still looked ashen, his usual olive glow faded. He had huge bags under his eyes. Oh and those baby browns were lacking their usual sparkle.

He withdrew from Thor's touch and pushed himself up and out of bed. "I'll get ready." He grabbed some clean clothes and headed into the en suite. He got washed and changed. When he came back out, he didn't look much better. If anything, he looked worse. The whites of his eyes were red. He'd definitely been crying again.

"I should call someone to watch the kids but... I haven't... I don't have anyone to call..."

Thor had changed while Daniel was gone, and he said, "I called my friend Tony. He's bringing his kids, they can help keep Sam company too." He said, his long hair was held back in a half braid, the rest hanging down his back in a beautiful golden wave, the longest hitting the small of his back.

He crossed the room, he was working to be to strong for Daniel. It was hard. Thor wasn't far away from when he'd lost his own father. Thor willed the tears in his blue eyes to go away. He wrapped his arms around Daniel's waist.

"I know it doesn't seem that way, but it will be okay. It just takes time." Thor told him, kissing Daniel's forehead.

"Thor, babe, I know you're trying to help but please... don't. Right now I don't feel like anything will ever be okay again. That sonofabitch is still breathing while my Ma died alone and probably terrified. And she died hating me."

He knew Thor was only trying to help him feel better and he appreciated it, but right now everything was too raw. He had lost his cousin and his mom in brutal ways. Both of them died hating him. His whole world had fallen apart.

How was he supposed to even start to explain it all to Sam and Anthony when he could barely make sense of it himself?

Stepping back, Thor was hurt. He was trying to make Daniel feel better. "My mother was killed, too. And I wasn't there, either. I couldn't do anything to stop it." Thor gave up on the tears, they fell. He backed up even further. "I do know a little bit about how you feel." He told him, and turned his face away.

He said, "I'm going to go and start coffee." He left the room, feeling guilty, even if Daniel had told him to stop trying to make him feel better. Thor went downstairs, and he fell at the bottom, he had been crying and hadn't seen the toys Sam had been getting out in anticipation of babysitting the kids.

He cried out. "Fuck!" Hoping that little ears weren't near.
