Who: Nature Center team
When: Somewhere between 10-11am
Where: The nature center, onward
"Are we almost ready? Are we going? Are... You guys good?" Edwin was having a hard time keeping cool. He'd finally, finally heard from Oliver after a night of worrying and not sleeping, and as relieved as he was to know that his boyfriend was, at least for the most part, fine, his desire to wrap himself around him and spend his day with him and just be near him was through roof. He knew he'd be with him soon enough, but... Well, that wasn't soon enough.
"You guys need help packing or anything?"
The nature center had been a good place to hide for the night. Aside from the ride down, which was normally powered by electricity but this time by an emergency hand crank, Edwin hadn't felt particularly unsafe. There had been a moment, at some point late at night, where they'd been aware of one of those creatures standing at the top of the cliff. It had looked down at them for a while, at the fire that they'd built out in front of the center, and then had disappeared without bothering them. That had been their only problem over the course of the night. Other than the constant worry.
And now, after a nap and a few network posts to Oliver, Edwin was beyond ready to get going. He'd helped Pam cram all her stuff back into her bag before she disappeared into the bathroom for a while, and the building wasn't really big enough for him to feel like he really needed to keep tabs on the others, but... Man, was he ready to go.
He just needed someone to help him get back up on the lift. As much as he wanted to get to Oliver, much like how he'd wanted to get down to the nature center in the first place, the suspended platform still made him shake so badly that he wasn't able to operate the damn thing by himself. Even with it being powered electrically again, he knew that at the top, he wouldn't be able to step off the damn platform because it was still suspended too friggin' high in the air.
So, he'd fallen back on trying to herd people into going. And thankfully, the others seemed sympathetic. That or they were just also ready to get back to their own beds.
"I need to steal one or two of you to go see if we can find Harper once we get past the river," Pam announced as she reappeared from the bathroom. She held her phone in her hand, which she'd thankfully been able to charge enough for it to not be a problem that she wasn't going straight home. "The GPS is back up, by the way. I think this dot might be her? There are a few dots that I'm not sure if they need to be found too or not." She showed it to Edwin, even though she knew he wouldn't be one of the people going with her. "Gosh, what was their night like, I wonder?"
Edwin was, admittedly, glad he didn't know, but also glad that Pam had taken up the task of finding them. He was reminded of when he and Lennon had gone to help Marco after Oliver had been found at the tower thing, and how many hours that had taken. He was sure that he didn't want to do that again, even if he'd feel guilty about not having helped later.
