"I'd like some music," Edwin spoke up, his voice pitched up a little more than he expected it to be. He wanted to laugh, because the sound that had come out of him was ridiculous, but the laugh didn't happen, and he just continued to grip the railing and stare upwards, watching the edge of the top of the cliff get closer and closer. "Whatever you want to put on. I trust your taste."
Pam would never understand why Tobias still found her so frightening, especially after he'd found her and Kiley at some of their lowest moments, but she'd try to keep her frustration over that to herself until later, and then maybe she'd ask Lennon about it. He probably had some insight on it. It shouldn't have bothered her, but both of them had been there long enough that he should have come around already. She looked to Felix instead. "You let me know if you need me to come check up on Shark when we get back, okay? If she seems off at all, you let me know."
And then, moments later, the platform reached the top of the cliff, shuddering and shaking before it came to a stop next to the ledge. Pam hopped out of the cart, figuring that since she was the first onto it she may as well be the first off, while Edwin started trying to convince himself to release his white-knuckle grip of the platform railings.
