Enough already

Iris had enough. Steping off the small porch of her small home off the highway in Oklahoma. First the coup, then their powers went all out of whack and now things were back to normal but all the mortals seem to have been frozen in time. Normally, Iris was laid back and let those in charge do whatever they wanted without question but now that things were directly affecting her she was rapidly getting annoyed with them.

"POTHOS" she shouted wondering where her beautiful son was at, seeing as she hadn't seen him at the meeting at Dite's temple.

Waiting, she calls his name again finding it odd that he did not appear in anyway or form. Frowning she shuts her eyes and reaches out for her son, hoping that when she finds him, it won't be any sort of embarrassing situation. Instead, she feels absolutely nothing not even a faint trace of her son.

Worried now she quickly vanishes from the dry plains of Oklahoma and reappears in the front of Dite's temple, intent on getting some answers. Hurrying up the steps, she is quickly met by an attendant that informs her of Dite's absence. With a sigh, Iris wonders if anything is going to go her way today as she allows the attendant to show her into a sitting room to wait for the mistress of the temple.

Madness...Raving Madness.

Apollo pushed past him, his arms around Eris as he laughed at Hermes. They all left him in the entry way alone, Dite's voice in his head as he tried to make sense...

Everything felt wrong. His hands were shaking as he reached out for the the door, only to pull back a moment later and look away.

It is all wrong Dite, he said softly, Apollo...

He drifted, stumbling back as groaned. It was wrong. It was all wrong. He moved from the entry way, and through Dite's more private quarters. A servant came running toward him, and Hermes jerked away, surprised and startled as he pushed her away.

"I know you were behind it, just fix it all." The girl hissed it at him as he back away, "Die...Die....Poor little Hermes."

"Get away from me!"

She stopped looking at him Maliciously (or that was what he saw) before she turned an ran out of the room, Hermes falling to the floor and crawling into a corner where he hide, curled into a ball and rockin'.

Its all wrong...I didn't do it....I...

Only he wasn't so sure anymore.

And the meeting can finally begin...

Chin up and full of confidence, she walked out of her salon into the main audience chamber, escorted by Deimos. She paused once inside, taking a quick inventory of those there... some were expected of course, and others posed quite the surprise. She pat Deimos arm lightly and released it with a smile.

"I'm going to make the rounds... if you'd like to rejoin your brother, that'd be fine."

If he wished to go with her he was of course welcome, but she doubted he was really in the mood. Seeing as how she already felt a pang of guilt for what she'd asked of him, she saw no need to torture him further. She decided to start at the back, moving to each group of individuals quickly, greeting each deity in turn, offering each a welcome of some sort, stopping only for a moment with each.

"Iris, thank you for coming."

"Anteros, please stop scowling... it's hardly flattering."

"...Flidais. What a surprise.. welcome to my home."

"Artemis. It's good to see you. Thank you for getting the ball rolling with the refreshments... There may have been riots. It's appreciated."

"Hephaestus..." To him she said nothing, just smiled as patted his cheek lightly, thumbing away the lipstick mark left by Artemis' kiss.

She moved closer to where the bulk of her children were gathered, and a small stand off seemed to be happening.

"Harmonia.. Do sit up straight, please.:

"Strife" She offered him a wink. "You're still here and sitting still? Wonders may never cease."

"Ate - It's been a very long time since you've graced my temple."

"Elpis. Welcome."

"Zelos... You already know I'm glad to see you."

"Limos.... my, you've grown up quite handsome, haven't you?"

"Lethe, a pleasure."

She bent down to kiss Phobos, the only one of her children present she'd not seen recently, on the cheek lightly. "You're plotting something, darling... I hope it waits till we're done here."

She straightened and smiled at everyone again, surprised at hose she noticed were missing.. Hermes, most obviously, and Thanatos - though she expected he'd return. Hermes, though - one could never be sure about. He could be dealt with later, though.

"Thank you all for coming. I do appreciate your patience. I wanted to say first that I realize everyone is being affected by this... and I kno no one is very happy. I do not know what has happened - but I plan on working hard to find out what it is, and restore everyone to their rightful selves. I know we're all anxious for answers, and while I can't promise any today, I do hope that maybe collectively we can perhaps pool our knowledge, and see if together we might be able to discover anything."

Psyche, Ant, Flidais and Iris

Anteros escorted the ladies in his company to the right side of his mother's parlor that was thankfully away from his immature brothers who he had noticed was making eyes at Lethe before deciding to join his sister in law in a separate sitting area.

Anteros released Flidais and waited for the ladies to take their seats while he greeted Psyche, "It's been a long time."

Was Flidais right in assuming he was always a gentleman?

Had his personality stayed intact as much as Iris thought?

When faced with Psyche, who he had mixed feelings about, there was something a bit sinister in the words he had just spoken to her.

Frustrations

After the visit to Eris' house Iris was beyond frustrated. She felt disoriented and wasn't sure where to go next or who to speak to next and to make matters worse she couldn't seem to find anyone using her normal process.

"HERMES I QUIT!"

Oddly it felt good to yell, even though she highly doubted that Hermes could hear her. If he wanted everyone to meet at Dite's then he'd have to do the message delvieries since it was clear Iris' days as a messenger were over. Heading back at a snail's pace the way she came Iris decides to just go directly to Love's temple. Perhaps Dite needed a secretary or some other position that would require her to stay in one place.

On a Mission

After parting ways with Hermes, Iris wandered off to start the task of locating everyone to have them head over to Dite's temple. Deciding it would be easiest to start with those on the Mount she transports herself to her first target's home.

Walking toward Eris' front door she hopes that she'll get a lucky break and find some of the Goddess' children here as well. Upon reaching the door she knocks twice and then waits, hoping that all inside will be willing to go meet with Dite so that they can attempt to get a handle on the situation.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Iris had felt it, hell she was pretty certain that one would have to be nonexistent not to have felt it. The big question was what exactly was it? Iris, peered out the window of her small humble home curiously trying to see what was going on but unfortunately all she saw nothing really out the ordinary. Everything looks the same as it did when she arrived.

With a loud audible sigh, Iris steps away from the window and head back toward her sitting room, wondering if perhaps she should return to her little town in Oklahoma again, until this most recent of events has blown over. Then something happened, almost as if a little switch was thrown and before she could question what she was doing all of her colorful decorating schemes are changed to various shades of black and white.

Who says you can't go home?

She had left when the fighting started. Didn't think twice about it, just left and covered her tracks as she fled to some godforsaken town in Oklahoma. She hadn't even had taken the time to let those closer to her know where she was going before she cut off her connections to them all.

In Oklahoma the people whispered behind her back, wondering who was this stranger that seemingly appeared out of the blue one day. The one who lived all by herself on a small parcel of land off the highway leading out of town. Eventually she made a friend or two, those who had were led to believe that she had fled New York and an abusive husband with nothing but the clothes on her back.

It wasn't the best story but the people believed it and soon she was considered to be one of them. She went to the festivals in town and the fairs, she was even asked to the church dance by the local high schools football coach. Being Iris, she was unable to turn him down and surprisingly she enjoyed herself yet she knew later that night that she couldn't stay hidden forever and that the time had come to return home.

Arriving with dawn, Iris surveys the quietness of the mount before slowly restoring the connections she had severed so long ago. The one to her son was first, followed by a heartfelt apology for any worry that she may have caused him. Hermes was next, her message to him was neutral since being out of touch for so long she had no idea how he had faired and finally Thanatos to let him know that she was back and willing to help collecting souls if he should need it.

When she was satisfied that they would know she was back, she made her way to her home to see if any of it remained.
