Opening Night!

The opening of La Sirene, Little Wakanda's first nightclub, is finally here! Dinah has worked very hard to make sure the opening goes without a bang, and her hard work has definitely paid off!

Doors will open at 8PM, and as it is the opening weekend, cover charge is waived. There are drink specials all night, and a dj playing music for dancing. There bar and kitchen are both fully stocked and ready to go. While the opening is a 16+ event, anyone under the age of 21 will be carded, and Dinah has the best technology to detect fake ids, so probably not really smart to try it. Don't make her sic Helena on you. Trust me, that won't end well for you.

At some point, Dinah would taking the stage to perform a set, backed by a house band.

"Trust me, Zari knows. All of this," she indicated the dress by running a hand down the length of it, "was part of an evil scheme of hers to get me here tonight. She's a good friend." Darcy took a second, smiling at his words and making a note to actually pass the on to Zari, before adding, "You don't look so bad yourself."

Fun was... relative. And she knew it. Especially with what was going on, but every so often a brain break was needed. And for all her touting of self-care, she was really bad at taking care of herself.

"That's what you meant when you told Clint you'd be busy until after the opening!" Darcy put the pieces together from the netpost she'd seen the other day. Peering over the side she saw the register. "Honestly, if that's the one thing that goes wrong opening night, I think they can call it a huge success. No falling lights, no drunk people smashing up displays. Just one procedural upgrade? They'd be golden!"

She paused for a moment before looking back at him. "Wait... you- you mean you were going to do the upgrade now?"

"Well, I should be thanking Zari, then." Henry grinned, letting it go at that. When she complimented her, he looked confused for a moment, then glanced down at his own outfit. For a dude who was so at home in cargo pants, band t-shirts and flannels, Henry could dress up if he needed to. Tonight he was in a button-up shirt and a pair of slacks. Not super dressy, but way more than he would normally do. He almost asked her why she meant by that, but she went on.

"...yes? Yes. I was really busy setting up the cameras." He motioned again. "It took... well, a lot of time." Especially considering he had to mount them all and drill holes and run the cable. But it was worth it: the building was way, way more secure with the cameras on. "I haven't been doing much of anything else. I had to assemble the hardware because this world doesn't have exactly what I was looking for."

Then he shook his head. "Oh no! No. I just wanted to know what I'm dealing with. I think getting some iPads would work better than these register things. They're flimsy, and I think I can design stronger software on the Apple platform. It's gonna take me some time, though."

"Given how big this place is, I'm not surprised it too you so long, but you did a good job. If you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have known there was a camera there at all." Which was what you wanted in your security. She moved, turning so she could lean her side up against the bar, a slightly more comfortable position than having to lean forward against it.

"Would you be surprised to learn that this world doesn't have the equipment that some of its natives need either?" she asked with a small smirk. "I feel that every time either me or Jane need something for sciencing we either need to make it ourselves or cobble it together with pieces of other things and a ton of duct tape." Which, as she'd said before, was her friend in the forest.

"Don't let Tony hear you say that. He might try to get you to use a StarkPad instead. He's been trying to get me to switch to their version of the Ipod, I think I'm slowly killing him that I refuse to switch." It was more of a playful argument at this point, because she would never give up her ipod. Ever.

"So, you going to be sticking around?" she nodded to the party still going on behind them.

The cameras around the Club's rooms weren't entirely hidden, but they weren't super obvious, either. And they were high-res. The images that were being recorded onto the drive in the back room were really clear. Henry was proud of his work, though. Especially because he had to do some fancy tech stuff to make it all work.

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I found myself doing the same thing where I come from. Lots of duct tape and pulling apart old tech to make something new. I had to create a lot of weaponry on the fly." Henry was really curious about Jane. Maybe some day she'd show up here.

"Ah. Well. I'd have to learn the OS on the StarkPads, but I'm sure it could be done eventually. Do they run Linux? Truthfully, Apple makes really good tech for this world. We had something a little different in mine, and that's what I would normally go for." He grinned again.

"I... guess?" He said, looking over her shoulder at the party, then back to her. "I mean, I think I owe you a rum and diet, anyway. I don't have any other pressing engagements tonight."
