Party thread!
-Who: Everyone!
-What: Party time!
-When: Day 27, from 5 in the morning carrying on until 5 am the next day when everything will get cleaned up by the golems
-Where: Ballroom, club, bar, places around there
-Status: Complete
-Rating: Who knows! Could go from anywhere between G and R!

If one were to walk into the ballroom after 5 am, they would find brightly colored streamers hanging across the walls and from the ceiling. Confetti was constantly fluttering down from the ceiling, as if the tiny pieces were snow themselves. Tables had been set up along the wall with plates, silverware, and all sorts of food imaginable. The Planet had made sure to include everyone's favorite food on the menu. The dessert table was huge. There was also a drink table nearby, complete with a bar and a few golems manning it to monitor the intake of drinks as well as serve them up. The Planet seemed to be either apologizing for all the people missing or wanting the remaining people to get together and meet each other again.... or perhaps it was a little bit of both.

Wrote in the journal? Check. Had another bongload? Check. Change of clothes? Check.

Andy asked the Planet for a pair of boots and figured, when he slipped them on, he could always take 'em off and leave 'em at the door in favor of his sneakers, but happily skip out on the wet socks and soggy jeans.

The Ballroom seemed to have the loudest music, at least from where he was standing outside building D, so he headed that way.

As soon as he made his way inside, he stopped, tugging off the boots and setting them off to the side as he slipped on his sneakers again and surveyed the room. Dude...dude...cute blond... He stood up straight again. Looks like Doc won't need me after all; he's got a hot blond of his own already... That was quick.

He made his way further inside and spotted a punch bowl, immediately thinking to himself how bad he'd like to spike it just for kicks. There was a cute girl over there and while normally Andy probably wouldn't have found her terribly approachable since she'd clearly gone out of her way to be away from everyone, Andy had a little help of the giggle weed, so as far as he was concerned, anyone was game.

Crossing the room, Andy ignored her at first - his attempt at being aloof and suave - as he got himself a glass of punch and then leaned against the table, surveying the room again. "Bit of a bust so far, huh? Think it'll pick up later?" he asked, finally looking over at her and offering a lopsided grin.

A skinny guy in a suit came in, followed by a blonde chick who pressed herself on him like they were two parts of the same person. George thought that, as usual, eveyone knew everyone else, except for her. Rolling her eyes she noticed yet another guy coming in and switching boots for sneakers - not weird or anything, could've been dancing shoes - and much to George's surprise, he seemed to be talking to her now.

She took her time to stare at the guy with no emotion at all, unsure of whether to send him packing or taking the opportunity to make a second acquaintance. Eh, might as well do the latter.

"Ah... Yeah. It probably will. I...guess." She said, still sort of emotionless. The guy seemed to be in high spirits, and god knew George needed a bit of cheering up right now.

Nodding, he looked back out at the small crowd - if, that was, you could call it a crowd at all. "Hopefully, because otherwise, this is gonna be super lame and I'm going back to my room," he muttered.

He'd seen the way she'd been looking at everyone. She must not know anyone, yet, he thought and decided she was going to know someone now, at least.

"I'm Andy," he offered, holding out a hand to her to shake. She hadn't brushed him off, so that was a plus. "How long have you been here?" he asked.

George nodded, thinking she'd probably do the same in about five minutes if this was all there was going to be. They weren't even playing anything good, as far as she was concerned.

The guy introduced himself, and George felt a little thankful for that. At least she knew the name of one other person now. Grrreat!, she thought, smiling awkwardly and with a hint of sarcasm from her own thoughts.

"George." She was introducing herself to everyone by her real name. She had no idea whether they were seeing her as her or as the 'other her', but her family was most certainly not there and neither was anyone who knew her, so it didn't matter. George shook Andy's hand. "Not long. A few days..." She didn't remember. Everything was still a bit hazy.

"George?" he asked, nodding appreciatively. "That's cool, I like that. Nice to meet ya." He gave her a genuine smile and took a sip of his drink. "Don't know a lot of people?"

Something about the way she was looking around, looking less than enthralled, made him think she probably knew no one in the room. It was less about avoidance and more about being a wallflower, maybe. "Me either," he offered before she could answer one way or the other; he was fairly convinced in his own mind that he was right about her. "I haven't been here long either. Less than a week.

"Seems like everybody here is from weirdo places, though, that I've never heard of. Except Sam, dunno where exactly he's from, but I know he's from the US, because I met him once. Well, twice," he said, his words coming out in a rapid rambling. He smirked and giggled. "Not good times," he added, sobering almost instantly after. "God this music is lame," he said as an afterthought, more to himself than to her.

George actually tried to reply to Andy a couple of times, but he seemed to talk faster than she could think. Instead, she nodded, and nodded, and nodded again.

"Who's Sam?" She finally asked, because she hadn't seen him greet anyone, so he must not have been there. Andy was giggling on top of all the fast-talking, and that fact tipped George off that he was probably not completely sober...Or maybe it was just her missing Mason and his stupid ways already that made her almost wish this guy was high on something. He rambled almost as much as Mason, albeit without the London accent.

"Weird places like where?" She also asked. She wanted to know more about this place and the people in it, because it had started to become clear that she wasn't getting out of there any time soon.

"Sam?" he asked. "Oh! Yeah, Sam...I don't really know him that well. Like I said, we just met a couple of times back home. Two ships passing in the night and all that jazz," he replied with a shrug. "Nice guy, though."

Andy shifted slightly and took another drink. His head was still swimming a little and his face went slack as he zoned out, staring into the middle of the room at everything and nothing at all. He only just registered George's second question. "Uh...someone said she was from Andalasia, but I dunno where that is," he replied lazily, shrugging.

Suddenly, he looked back over at her. "Drink? I mean, like an actual drink?" he asked. The punch was nice, but it didn't have any sort of kick and Andy was in the mood for a kick. He'd almost asked her if she wanted to blow this pop stand, but he was still a little curious about how Doc was making out with the blonde girl who'd flung herself at him.

George shrugged, content with his answer. However, upon mention of Andalasia, George turned her head completely to Andy and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm not big on Geography, or anything, but I've never heard of Andalasia. Ever." She told him, finishing her punch. Wasn't bad.

He'd offered to bring her a real drink, but George didn't remember ever having drank alcohol, not even after death. Then again, now seemed to be the time to do things she hadn't done before, since her after-life seemed to be shaping up to be much more exciting than her real life already.

"Why not." She replied emotionless as ever.

"Yeah, me either til she said it," Andy replied, shrugging.

She'd agreed to a drink and Andy took a few steps before pausing. He looked back at her almost quizzically. Even high, Andy could tell she was disinterested at best. "Or, you know, I can fuck off and leave you alone, if you'd rather..." he said quietly, not wanting to be a bother if that was, indeed, what he was being.

George raised both eyebrows and opened her mouth, though no sound came out of it. She didn't know whether she was interested in hanging out with this guy, or being alone, really. Well, it was a party, so she supposed being alone would be lame at best. She might as well try to talk to this Andy guy a bit more. Maybe let herself go a bit more, too.

"Like I'll have more fun if I'm alone?" She told him, tilting her head to the left. Then, she tried her best to give him a genuine smile. God, she was awkward sometimes...

Andy laughed. "Ain't that the truth," he joked. "What's your poison?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at her.

Honest to God, if she said she wanted beer, he'd probably have to kiss her. ...at least by the end of the night. Because chicks that drank beer were hot as hell and she was already cute. Ten points for beer, seriously.

George didn't reply for a while, and looked over at the drinks table.

"Beer...I...Guess...?" She answered with a slightly puzzled look, making pauses between words as she had no idea what to have, really. Beer seemed to be the default, the standard. The only time she probably had anything stronger (George didn't remember) was when she'd been drinking with Mason after the whole Tripp thing. George wouldn't want to think about that now, so she nodded at Andy decidedly.

Andy's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Fuck yeah," he breathed and nodded back at her, giving her two thumbs up before scurrying off to the bar.

All right, so what if she didn't sound sure she actually wanted beer? She'd said it, so that was good enough for him.

It didn't take him long to retrieve two bottles of beer from the golem manning the bar and he was on his way back, still grinning stupidly when he gave George hers. He raised his bottle. "To fuckin' lame parties and the cool people who haven't anywhere else to go," he joked.

George found Andy waaay over-excited at her request for beer, but said nothing of it. He was almost definitely high.

Suddenly she noticed who was tending the bar and looked at the being with her head completely tilted left and both her eyebrows screwed up in a frown of sorts.

George took the beer from Andy but didn't stop looking at the being, even though she clanked her bottle with his when he raised it and made some overly excited toast.

"What is that?" She asked, despite not being as weirded out as she should've been - she'd seen gravellings and all sorts of human souls now, some level of desensitization was paramount.

Following her gaze, Andy gave a small half-smile. "That would be a golem. Weirdo lookin' things, aren't they?" Andy asked, pulling a face. "I think they're the ones that leave the notes on our doors. For stuff like this and the group activities and everything," he added.

Andy took a pull from the beer bottle and gave a small sigh. There were few people, still, and there was nothing - absolutely nothing - to do. He couldn't dance and wouldn't wish watching him try on even his worst enemy, so that was out. He'd left his stash up in his room - stupid, stupid, stupid - and, well...Andy was out of ideas.

Part of him had the urge, once again, to ask her if she wanted to leave, but then what would they do? Go to another part of the resort to see if there was anything more interesting going on there? It was still morning and most of the Planet's residents were probably sleeping. Andy, himself, would have been, if he hadn't been woken up by a nightmare of Webber. He just hadn't been able to fall back asleep, so he'd gone out to the snow fort to have a toke and mull things over. Then the Doctor had come and that was that.

"So where are you from, anyway?" he asked George, trying to think of something to talk about with this girl. She seemed less than enthralled with his company, but Andy wasn't huge on mingling, either, if he was honest, so it wasn't like he planned on going anywhere unless she told him to. He took another drink and looked over at her, raising his eyebrows slightly.

"Golems. Of course." George said, pursing her lips together, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. She hadn't received any notes yet, but she'd heard of them. She wondered when her turn was going to come.

Andy seemed like he was having as much fun as she was, and George wished there was something to do in that god-forsaken place, but she wasn't one to lead or get any good ideas. She looked back at Andy, sipping on the beer, as he asked her where she was from.

"Seattle." She answered. Plain, but true. "You?" She thought it was polite, maybe nice, to ask. Poor guy was already thinking he was imposing, which wasn't the truth at all, she was enjoying at least exchanging a few words with another human being. Seemingly.

"Guthrie. ...Oklahoma," he replied. "Nice to meet an American girl for a change," he admitted with a smile.

Andy wondered if she'd be interested in sharing a joint, but he thought it in bad taste to ask so soon.

"How'd you end up here?" he asked. "I was taking a nap in one place and then I woke up here, in the garden, a few days ago when the weather didn't suck so bad," he offered, whether or not she cared to hear it.

George smiled back. It was nice to meet anyone, really. Andy seemed normal, at least, not waving pieces of stick around casting spells, or anything. It gave George a bit of hope and security.

She widened her gaze at his tale about happening upon the world they were currently in, and she decided to offer hers.

"Walking to a waffle house where I usually meet my...co-workers. Then, I was here. In the middle of the snow." She said, still a bit bitter about the whole thing.

Andy laughed and gave her an apologetic look. He hadn't meant to, but... "damn, that sucks!" he declared. "At least when I got here, it was sunny and warm...sorry to hear it," he added.

Another girl had wandered into the party and Andy raised an eyebrow. Green hair. Interesting choice. Not really his style, but to each their own.

"Dude, is it slow as hell up in here," he sighed. "You wanna go do something else?" he asked. "Like, I don't know, hit up the game room or something? I'm real bored... We could come back later and see if it's picked up..."

George really hoped Andy wasn't asking her o get away from there with other intentions, else she'd be forced to punch him in the face and maybe in the balls, too. He didn't look the type, but who knew?

Still, she could defend herself pretty well, and the party blowed anyway.

"Uhm...Sure." She said, but didn't move from where she was standing, still holding a half-warm beer.

Andy shook his head and held up his hands defensively. "Honest to God," he said, noting the look on her face and the unsure tone in her voice, "just video games, George."

He supposed he'd be wary, too, if the tables were turned. Especially knowing what he knew from his own point of view: she was hot, she drank beer, and he'd been trying to figure a way to get the two of them out of here for a little while, now.

But, that wasn't his intention. Not so soon, anyway. As much as he liked to pretend otherwise, he still really had Tracy on his mind. ...and he still really missed her. Even if he wanted to, he didn't think he'd be able to fill her place in his heart anytime soon.

"Or, you can pick somewhere, for all I care...anywhere but here. This is boring, but video games were the first thing that popped into my head," he admitted.

George smiled. "Alright. Videogames." She said, despite knowing next to nothing about videogames, and not having played them in about ten years. Anything would be better than to stand in a room full of strangers nursing a hot beer.
