Day 3- White Water Rafting
Who: Austin, Legolas, Ace and Brigitte
What: White Water River Rafting
When: Mid-Afternoon
Where: The Boathouse/River
Rating: TBD
Status: Complete

Austin cracked one eye open. He heard the rustle of paper on the other side of his door and his eyes shifted to the door. It was a garish mustard color, and the rest of the colors in the room were just as bad. Sitting up, he crept toward the door in a pair of red briefs with the British flag plastered across his butt. He opened it a crack and peered out from behind his thick glasses. Seeing no one, he stuck his head out and looked down the hall. He saw a golem sticking envelopes on other doors as well and looked to his and saw there was one with his name on it.

Plucking it off the door, he shut it as he slipped back inside and went to his rotating bed. It was currently rotating and as he tried to sit down his butt moved but his feet didn't and that caused him to land on the floor with a thud. Getting up quickly, he looked around, even though there was no one in his room. A fact he quite regretted. Straightening his glasses he hopped on the bed and sat down to read the enclosed message.

Go to the boat house. You will be taking a rafting tour down the river. This is mandatory. If you do not go, a golem will find you and take you there. Don't leave until the class is finished, or a golem will take you back. "Hmm." Austin had yet to see one of these golems. The only person he'd seen had been Tonks. Austin grinned thinking of her.

The activity wasn't until later that afternoon, so he decided to figure out what to wear. That took a good part of the afternoon, but he finally settled on another pair of briefs similar to the ones he wore currently, but in a lycra material and bright blue. His swimming shorts. He pulled them on and then found a green and yellow button down shirt and a pair of brown cords. He brushed his hair, his teeth and cleaned his glasses.

By the time he was finished, his stomach was growling and breakfast was over and lunch hadn't quite begun. He found the restaurant and ordered tea and scones. Settling for some food in between meals. When he was satisfied he went out to wander the grounds until it was time to go to the boat house.

When he arrived at the boathouse, he found himself face to face with one of these golems. His eyebrows shot up and he got into a protective stance. "Hey, man. Something wrong with your face, I think." But he noticed that the man's hands were also afflicted with the same abnormality that made his skin look like a dark brown clay. He shifted his eyes around him and then back to the mute Golem. "Say something, man!" But when the golem still didn't speak Austin relaxed, wondering if maybe it was a statue.

And then it moved and Austin jerked back, jumping a few paces away. "Whoa!" When the golem directed him into the boathouse, Austin looked at him suspiciously. "What, go in there?" The golem nodded and Austin scowled. "You can't kill me, right?" The golem shook his head. The plaque hadn't said anything about not hurting people, though. Reluctantly, Austin proceeded inside and was relieved the Golem didn't follow.

He sat down on a bench and looked toward a rather nice looking television. Better than any he'd ever seen. It was looping a video about life jackets and safety on a raft. There was a pile of life jackets against a wall and Austin went to get one. Watching the video carefully, he put his on and adjusted the straps. Then sat back down to watch the rafting portion.

It looked dangerous, the way those people bounced about in the rubber boat and jerked over the white water. But, they looked to be having fun. And Austin was all about having fun. He rubbed his hands together and laughed. "Yeah, baby."

Brigitte had meant to get up early but her alarm didn’t go off and the teenager found herself awakened by the sound of someone outside of her door. ‘That’s one good thing about being a werewolf’, Brigitte thought as she climbed out of bed. ‘Extra sensitive hearing makes it difficult for anyone to sneak up on you’. The teenager peered out the spy hole on her to see a golem staring back her.

“Shit”, she muttered as she backed up. “What does he want?” Brigitte moved to unlock the door but she heard the footsteps moving away and by the time she had gotten the three locks open on her door the golem was gone. The only evidence that proved he had even been there was a note with Brigitte’s name on it. Grabbing the note, Brigitte slammed the door shut and tore open the envelope. Pale green eyes scanned over the message quickly. White water rafting? Was this some sort of joke? She re-read the message once more and debated what to do.

First of all, Brigitte did not want to go rafting. She wasn’t the outdoorsy type at all. But then there was that other part of the message, the part about the golems tracking her down if she didn’t go.

Brigitte chewed on her lower lip. If she was completely honest with herself, Brigitte would admit that the golems freaked her out. She didn’t get any normal scents from the golems, like blood, but only the smell of earth. It made her wonder how they could exist and what they were capable of but Brigitte wasn’t interested in discovering that while being dragged down to the river kicking and screaming.

With a sigh, Brigitte decided that she might as well just go down to the river this afternoon and have the whole thing over with. She dressed casually in jeans, a black t-shirt with a cardigan and sneakers. Her clothes were light enough for the warm weather but covered her arms and hide her scars.

Brigitte spent an hour simply puttering around the resort, managing a quick breakfast before she headed down to the river. ‘Why the hell am I so nervous?’ Brigitte thought as she reached the boat house. A golem met her and pointed at the boathouse.

“You want me to go in?” The clay faced man nodded once and after a shrug, Brigitte went in. It was obvious she wasn’t the first to arrive as Brigitte spotted a man sitting on a bench and watching an instructional video. “Uh…hi”, she said awkwardly. “I’m Brigitte. Are you here for the rafting too?”

The Elven prince had awaked from his state of reverie that was almost, but not quite, sleep, with a start. His hand reached for his bow. Too often, since the war had begun, he'd awoken into danger, and it was reflex at this point. His eyes opened, and he saw a woodland grove. His soft, comfortably bed, all in shades of green and brown, of course, was inside the tree in the middle of the room. Just as he had seen yesterday.

This brought a smile to his lips, and humming an elven song, he stood up out of bed, clad in a thin white tunic. Stripping it off, he went to the corner of a room, where there was a waterfall that fell into a placid pool. He touched the water, and was delighted to find it was warm, just the perfect temperature. He smiled and stepped under the cascading water. When his shower was complete, he dressed in his normal tunic and leggings. He was just tightening his belt and thinking about finding breakfast, when his sharp elven ears heard something from outside his door.

All song left his lips and heart as he grabbed his bow and ran over to the door. Yanking it open, he drew back the string, setting an arrow ready to fire. Glancing down the hallway, all he saw was a golem sticking papers to the doors all along the way. He glanced at his own door, and in fact, there was one there.

Curious, now, more than anything, he picked it up and unfolded it. Glancing within, he found he could easily read it, though of course it was not in Elven nor Dwarven runes. When he was finished, he gave a delighted laugh. Rafting? He knew a thing or two about that!

There was quite a lot of time before he was expected to be there, and though that very fact, being forced to, rankled on the free-spirited elf, the promised activity sounded very fun, so it sort of balanced out. Deciding the outfit he was wearing would be sufficient, after all, it had seen him through many things and remained intact, the elf braided his hair back in the customary way, and prepared to go. Regretfully, he left his bow in the room, as water was never good for bow-strings. His knives, of course, he kept safe in their sheathes. Only an infant of Mirkwood would go forth from there unarmed. No elven warrior would do so.

He left his room, feeling naked without his bow, and made his way to the restaurant. It was early, and he had much time to explore before he was required to be anywhere. Maybe he'd make his way to see the Lady Giselle... that thought brought a slight smile to his lips. In the end, though, he made a quick, but sufficient breakfast of berries and venison, and sweet elven honeycakes, before deciding to explore the grounds. He made friends with all the horses, speaking to them softly, and in other ways amused himself until it was time to go.

Then, following instructions, the elven prince made his way to the boathouse. Once there, he was directed by a golem towards actual building. Fascinated, he just stared at the being. A giant, perhaps? Not tall enough. An Orc? But he had seen many orcs and this was nothing like it. In the end, he had to just shrug and enter the building, as directed. He looked around, tilting his head curiously at the man who was already there, and nodded warily at him. Then, he settled down, sneered at the life-jacket, and watched the movie with a sort of amused tolerance.

"Well, it seems a little silly, all these precautions. The Fellowship and I went over much more intense terrain and managed without any of these magic moving pictures, or those floatation devices."

Ace stood outside the boat house for a few minutes, flipping the letter over in her hands, then glancing back up at the golems waiting there. "Not late am I?" She said to the stone creature, not expecting much of an answer. "Didn't think so." It seemed she'd found the right place. The brunette had only been on this planet for an hour or so now. Generally she would be more upset with being taken someplace against her will, but she'd been brought to a resort planet from the looks of it, and she'd read the tablet -- Honestly, she wasn't all that concerned with the not being able to leave part, believing her motorcycle could get her out of here later. A bit of tinkering with her bike, which was likely still resting in the middle of the resort lobby where she had appeared, find the transmat or whatever was used to bring her here in the first place...How hard could it be? It's not like it was the first time she'd been whisked off to another planet either, and she'd faired well enough the last time.

Stepping inside the boat house, Ace turned her gaze to the three already inside. This was certainly an odd bunch, but she figured if she played nice on this little rafting trip that they could talk, and maybe Ace could get some answers. Getting them the easy way, through friendly chat, was always preferable to the alternative. It looked more likely that she'd have better luck getting it from one of the two men though, as the girl looked rather unfriendly.

She set her rucksack down on a table, as well as her bomber jacket so it and the trinkets in it didn't get wet, leaving her in a simple pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. Well, that and the thin black devices strapped to her wrist and forearm, and the belt at her hip with several small pockets, and the gun held against her back, and the blade in her boot --- heh So she was well prepared, but she lived a life where it was necessary.

"Rafting, eh?" Brown eyes flickered towards the video, snatching up one of the life jackets, and pulling it on. Other then that she paid little mind to the safety tips. Really -- She could fly blindfolded through asteroid fields, a little rafting ought to be easy enough. "I take it this is mandatory trip for you lot too? Are leisure planets nowadays always so demanding?" She'd never heard of required activities before, but who was to say it simply wasn't custom? Hell, she'd been sentenced to death once before because she hadn't realized that blinking in the presence of certain alien nobles was insulting.

She was still suspicious of this whole thing. After all, this 'planet' had taken her while she'd been in the time vortex. Ace hadn't realized that was possible. It warranted at least a little investigation, but she could enjoy the rapids for a little bit, right? And if they, be it the three out of place looking sorts, the stone men, or anything else that was likely hiding around here, try and pull anything funny -- well, she had nitro nine on her belt, that would certainly pack a punch if her other weapons weren't enough. Sure the tablet had said not to kill, but if it was self-defense...It could hardly expect her to just stand by. "I'm Ace, by the way." The spacefleet soldier greeted, friendly enough with people she didn't see as a threat.

Austin stood up and pulled his pants off, revealing the bright blue swim trunks. It was then that he heard footsteps. Draping his pants over his arm, along with his shirt, he looked at the girl who entered, and the tall fair haired man who entered shortly after her. "Heeeey. Allow myself to introduce... myself. I'm Austin, Austin Powers. Brigitte did you say? Lovely to meet you, baby." She was a little too young for him, but lovely to look at nevertheless.

Austin's brow rose and he smirked at Legolas, who had neglected to introduce himself. He ran his hands over the life jacket, out of which massive quantities of chest hair were peeking, and let them settle down on his blue clad hips. "Magic moving pictures?" Austin looked back at the television and he got it. He nodded and laughed. "Right, the television. Huh." Shrugging, the International Man of Mystery looked back toward the door as another strode through.

This one was more his style, and he flashed his most mojo-filled smile at her. He chuckled and murmured, "Yeah, baby." Pushing his glasses up on his nose, he moved toward her as she picked up a life jacket and pulled it on. At least someone else was taking the video seriously. Unlike the fair haired man who still hadn't said his name.

"Ace, baby. I'm Austin, Austin Powers." He grinned again, but was interrupted when the golem appeared in the doorway. The golem beckoned and Austin wasn't about to argue with the clay man. He looked back at the others, then followed the golem out of the boathouse toward the raft floating at the end of the dock. Austin headed for it and stopped with his toes hanging over the edge of the wooden dock, looking down into the raft.

He tried to recall all the instructions from the video, then climbed on in. He put his hand out to help anyone who wanted it into the boat, looking up with his crooked toothed smile. "Rafting, baby. Yeah." Austin was kind of excited about the activity. It was going to be fun. And, since the Planet said no killing, he was fairly sure that it wasn't going to allow him to get hurt, either.

Brigitte eyed the blond haired man warily as he entered and sat down. He looked like he had come from some where in past with his clothing but she said nothing and turned back to Austin. At least the blond wasn't just wearing a pair of swimming trunks. 'Jesus, is he a werewolf too?' Brigitte thought sarcastically as she noticed his incredibly hairy chest but again, she kept her mouth shut.

There was no need to insult these guys.

Brigitte gave her attention to the movie for a few moments when the fourth person arrived. It was a tough looking brunette woman who seemed to have way too many weapons for Brigitte's comfort. Still, when the woman offered her name, Brigitte politely replied. "Hello, I'm Brigitte and yes, it this is mandatory for all of us", she said in her usual low voice. "Maybe it's the planet's idea of fun". It sure as hell wasn't Brigitte's and her tone showed that.

Still, when the golem appeared and beckoned them outside, Brigitte followed obediently after Austin. The raft looked safe enough and Brigitte had managed to get enough information out of video to know what not to do on the raft. She had snagged one of the flotation devices on the way out of the room and pulled it on.

The others might not be so worried about drowning but Brigitte didn't survive this far in life to be offed by drowning. Since she was still a little nervous, Brigitte let Austin help her into the boat. "Thanks", the teenager replied unsteady, giving the British man a small, nervous smile before settling down into the raft and waiting for the others.

She grabbed one of paddles and glanced down at the river they would be traveling on. "God I hope this isn't some plan for the planet to kill us", she muttered out loud, blanching at the sight of the rapids they would be traveling down. "Have any of you done this before?", Brigitte inquired of the others. She wished to god she didn't sound so nervous but the girl couldn't help it. 'Calm down B', she silently told herself. 'It's just a river and you're not going to drown'.

There just really was no accounting for humans, and Legolas knew that if he worried about every single strange thing that one of the short-lived race did, he would most likely go completely insane trying to figure it out. The man, Austin, he called himself, was definately an odd one. He wasn't sure what the purpose of those thick glass things on his face were, or why he was comfortable wearing so little clothing, yet felt the need for the bright orange floatation devices. As for the two women, well, one of them was a child, really, and seemed to have the same attitude problems that all children, Elven or otherwise, go through. The woman, he looked at with a certain amount of respect. Clearly, she was no one to trifle with, human or no.

"My apologies, Austin, Ace, and Brigitte, it seems I have neglected to introduce myself. Legolas, I am called, and yes, I was told to be here, just as I gather you all were."

He nodded politely to all of them, and when the golem came, he gave the floatation devices one more scornful look at stepped lightly out of the boathouse. The television he gave a more interested look, although he was curious about why none of the others seemed impressed with it. The screen held moving pictures! It was delightful.

"Lady Brigitte, I have, indeed, done this before, in a much more treacherous river. You have little to fear, if you use common sense."

With that, he sprung lightly from the dock onto the raft, neatly avoiding anyone else, though the small raft was fairly crowded now. He settled down gracefully, easily, and gave the humans a faintly amused look as he took up an oar. Elven reflexes and dexterity were really a wonderful thing.

Ace couldn't help but smile as Austin moved towards her and introduced himself. He was obviously quite the character; bright, hairy, cheerful, easily looked to be the most enthusiastic about all this. She couldn't even bring herself to be angry at him for calling her 'baby' of all things, which was quite the feat. Her attention was drawn away from him as the other two spoke, introducing themselves and answering her question about the activity being mandatory. The brunette nodded slightly at the comment about the planet. The idea that a planet could think, and have a will of its own was strange, but not totally unbelievable considering the things she'd seen. Perhaps it wasn't even a planet, just some ruler with a bit of an ego problem, or even a computer of sorts -- she'd heard tell of a companies in the future invested in artificial planets.

Ace did as the golem instructed, going outside with the others and finding herself a seat on the raft, taking hold of one of the paddles as well. "I doubt that." She replied at the thought of being killed on a rafting trip. "There would be no point in bringing us here, sending us off on a rafting trip, floating devices and safety video included, just to kill us. Especially when the planet could just get the golems to do it." Killing them this way would be a very out of the way method of doing so. Ace smiled at the younger girl, and patted her belt -- more then enough in the pockets there to defend against nearly anything. "Besides, you're safe with me. Nothing, human or alien, has been able to do me in yet. Some rapids certainly won't."

Brigitte was young and seemed nervous, and Ace wanted to at least put her at ease. Especially if she'd been taken here like Ace had, alone and against her will. Things like that hit a soft spot for her. She would certainly protect the girl if things went wrong, and the others if necessary though the blond, at least, looked capable of taking care of himself. Austin, she couldn't be sure of, but appearances alone were never good enough to go by. However, like she'd said -- this didn't seem like a very likely attempt on their life.

"Nice to meet you, Legolas." Austin adjusted his glasses again and reached up to help Brigitte into the raft. The others seemed to manage just fine. He liked strong women, and it seemed Ace was right up there. The way she patted that utility belt made him smirk slightly.

Austin had never gone white water rafting before, but he too had been through worse things. "It's alright, love. Like Ace said, I doubt the Planet would go about killing us this way when the Golem's seem capable." He patted her arm reassuringly, giving her a crooked toothed grin.

"Let's get this underway then, shall we?" He looked up at the golem who untied the raft and shoved them off. Austin took up an oar and stradled the side of the raft, watching as Legolas did the same. "This'll be fun, Brig. You'll see. Yeah." He laughed as they began to float leisurely down the river.

The white water wasn't too far away, so Austin looked over his shoulder at Brigitte. "Look, baby, hold your oar like this and dig in when we hit the water. It will help steer and keep us from tipping over. And hang on tight with your thighs. You can do it." Grinning, he turned back as the rapids approached quickly.

Looking over at Ace and Legolas, he raised his oar in a bit of a salute, winking at Ace and nodding at Legolas. "Ready?" A splash of water washed up and over Austin's legs. It wasn't exactly freezing, but it was enough to shock him. He tensed and almost gasped. His bright blue swim shorts darkening as the water was absorbed. "Not ready!" He stuttered.

The others seemed to doubt that this was all an elaborate scheme of the planet’s to kill them so Brigitte was able to push away her paranoid thoughts. Legolas claimed to have done this before, Ace swore that no river was about to kill her and Austin offered advice on how to paddle the raft. All and all, their words were helpful and allowed the youngest passenger to calm down a little. Austin’s causal reference to both her and Ace as Baby actually gave Brigitte an amused smile. Neither of the women seemed like the type you’d call Baby.

The raft drifted down the river before reaching the rapids and Brigitte felt her stomach tighten with excitement as the water swept them further down into the rapids. She followed the instructions given to her earlier and paddled hard.

Perhaps a little too hard.

Brigitte often forgot that being a werewolf gave her increased strength so after a few rough paddles, she eased up a little. The water sprayed up, hitting some of them, most noticeably Austin. Brigitte shivered and resisted the urge to shake the water off for fear it would appear too dog like.

It was a strange experience. Exhilarating but frightening at the same time. Brigitte’s knuckles were white as she clutched the paddle.

“Which way are we going?” she called out over the noise of the rapids.

Legolas was having a great time, he would readily admit that. He laughed as the quick-flowing river pulled them along, and though the raft shuddered as it approached the white water, he was unconcerned. He was absolutely convinced that he could stay on the craft, so what was the use of a life jacket? As the speed of the water increased, Legolas laughed once more, his eyes sparkling with delight that he didn't even remotely bother hiding. The girl, Brigitte, had sprayed them all with water, but on him, it was only a fine mist that made his skin and hair faintly glow, and was quite refreshing on the warm day.

"Hold on tight now, friends! This is going to be a bumpy ride!"

He spared a quick glance for the teenager, wondering if she'd be able to hold on. The older woman, though, seemed quite competant, and would surely grab her if needed. Still, he was fairly certain he was the only one who'd actually done this before, so he kept a close eye on all of them as the river swept them along. Austin, he noted, was doing an excellent job, which wasn't anything that the elf would have expected from the odd man. But he shrugged and let it go. People, even humans, could clearly always surprise you.

Everything was about to be put to the test as the lightweight, but sturdy, raft was swept into the first of the rapids. Legolas, his sharp eyes best for the task, found submerged rocks and pushed with his paddle away from them, and otherwise, just laughed as he helped guide the raft through the swift moving water. This was a whole lot of fun!

Ace sat ready to go, glancing back at the others, and watched as Austin winked at her shortly before getting splashed by the cold water when they shoved off. She chuckled at his reaction, smile remaining at noticing how much Legolas was enjoying this. She supposed it was fun, perhaps not what she was used to, but certainly exciting nonetheless. Ace dug her paddle into the water like the others did, doing her best to help guide them through the rapids, shuddering a bit as she was splashed with the cold water as well. At least she had her jacket back at the boat house that was still dry and warm.

Absently she wondered exactly how long this river was. This was fun for now, but she wanted to get back to her bike before nightfall. She didn't trust people enough to leave her things alone when they were left in the open like that. There were things in her bags that could start a whole lot of trouble. Not that she could do much about that now. The brunette would just have to go along for the ride, and hope it didn't take too long. She still had to ask these three how they ended up on this planet too. Surely she wasn't the only one to be taken here out of nowhere.

Brown eyes continued to flicker between her new companions and their surroundings. Everything was going smoothly thus far though, Legolas and Austin were doing swimmingly, and Brigitte was doing well despite having been nervous. Even she was getting the hang of it, but it didn't require all that much skill -- hold on, use the paddle, stay away from rocks.

"Let the rapids guide you, baby! Yeah." Austin had paid very good attention to the safety/instructional video. He thought that if they put too much effort into guiding the raft that they would likely tip over or get stuck on a rock. But, with Legolas seemed to see the rocks before anyone else and was able to steer them away from them without too much trouble. Austin was having a brilliant time of it all.

He enjoyed the people he was with and the excitement of hitting the roiling white water. The jerk and bounce of the raft beneath him reminded him of being on a bucking horse. Which, now that he thought about it, he probably had never experienced. But he supposed this might be what those cowboy types felt when they were being bounced around in an arena on the back of an angry bull.

Austin spared a glance backward to nod with a cheeky grin at Brigitte, noting the white knuckles. He looked back to his own and saw that they were the same way. True, this was quite exciting, but also frightening at the same time. As a particularly choppy blast of white water hit the raft, Austin lost his grip and bounced forward and then out of the raft. Still clutching his oar.

But, he wasn't in the water two seconds before the next batch of rapids tossed him right back in. He landed on his side with a thud and expelled a whoosh of air. He could have sworn that rapid pushed him back into the boat on purpose. "Cheeky!" He barked at the water as he attempted to be graceful in climbing back into position.

He shivered lightly, but the cool water was quickly warming in the heat of the sun. Regardless of his recent dousing in the river, Austin was grinning. "Everyone alright?"

“HOLY—“ Brigitte broke off as Austin bounced out of the raft. It had happened so quickly the werewolf hadn’t time to react but just as quickly Austin was back in the raft. “How did you do that?” she blurted in a bewildered voice before the brunette shook her head.

The how wasn’t really important. All that matter was that he was okay, something Brigitte quickly asked about. “Are you okay?” He seemed to be as he straightened up but seeing someone fall out of the raft so easily didn’t help Brigitte’s nerves.

“Okay, where are we going?” Brigitte repeated, looking further ahead down the rapids. She guessed they didn’t really have a choice of direction. It was more of a matter of avoiding the rocks, which thanks to Legolas, they seemed to be doing rather well. Brigitte settled back into her seat, clenching with her thighs just as Austin had instructed earlier.

The river swept them further down into the rapids and Brigitte decided just to relax and go with the flow as she paddled. They had to reach calm water eventually, right?

Even with his quick reflexes, Legolas didn't have time to so much as move from his position on the raft before Austin was safely back in his place, shivering and wet, but unharmed. The elf frowned thoughtfully. He'd never heard of anyone being pushed back onto a raft they'd been shaken off of. It was like... if a horse that had just bucked off a rider leaned down and picked them up again. Very odd.

Carefully, gracefully, the elf rose to his feet, and before anyone could be sure of what he was doing, he dove right over the person in front of him and into the chilly, rapidly-flowing water, still clutching his paddle. As he had expected, he was almost immediately shoved back onto the raft by the raging waters.

"It seems we really do have nothing to fear, friends. The river will not let us come to any harm."

Just as if he wasn't completely soaked, he calmly seated himself again, and continued fending off the submerged rocks. The water felt really good, actually, in comparison with the warm sun. Mischieviously, he considered doing it again.

Ace watched as Austin and then Legolas were both thrown back into the raft by the waves quicker then she was able to react. The first time she could have shrugged it off as good luck, but seeing Legolas dive in and a wave rising practically against the current to toss him back into the raft as well kind of squashed that idea. It seemed the planet was more talented then she'd figured. She was curious how it worked. The brunette still wasn't buying into the sentient planet thing; she had nothing against the suggestion that the planet could think and feel, but as far acting on that -- taking people from other times and planets, controlling everything on its surface -- not so much.

The idea that the planet was an artificial one run by computers had been more plausible, but she had never heard of computers able to control water. Unless there were jets on the surface beneath them that reacted when one of them fell out...Curious or not though, Ace was not about to launch herself into the cold water to test her theory.

She glanced back, seeing the blond's expression. "Let's try staying in the boat regardless. The river may be helping keep us in the raft, but as far as I can tell, you're the one keeping us off the rocks." Ace said, sending an amused glance at Legolas. She'd rather not hit one of the rocks, have the raft deflate, and strand them here for however long. Ace was already itching to go explore the rest of the planet.

Austin grinned up at Brigitte, his teeth incredibly crooked and nearly buck-toothed. "Yeah, baby. I'm smashing." Re-arranging himself back on the edge of the raft, Austin tried to keep a better grip this time. He was nearly naked and a little time in the sun quickly warmed him and dried the droplets of water from his pale skin, but his trousers were still wet and his winky had shrunk considerably. It was embarrassing.

Keeping his legs together would prohibit anyone else from noticing though. There wasn't much point in answering Brigitte's next question, because he wasn't even sure himself. He just knew they were going down river and the fair haired one with the strange ears was keeping them off the rocks.

Austin's eyes widened as said fair haired one with the strange ears dove off the side of the raft, narrowly missing some rocks, and was just as quickly propelled back inside the raft. He laughed nervously, thinking that it had been a fluke that had pushed him back into the raft. But apparently, the Planet had a different idea.

He stared at the elf for a moment before shaking his head and returning his attention to the rapids, and trying to steer as best as he could. And then Ace spoke up and Austin had to nod emphatically at her statement. "Right! Keep us off the rocks, Blondie!" Austin chuckled, thinking himself rather clever.

Up ahead, he could see a calm patch of water. That must be where it was deeper and the rocks below the surface didn't disturb the water as much. "Oy! Up ahead!" He pointed with his oar and grinned back at the nervous werewolf. "Look, love! Calm water." He turned back only to see that there were more rapids after the patch of calm.

“Whoa”, Brigitte breathed as Legolas gracefully rose to his feet and dove into the water. The planet wasted no time in pushing him back on the raft and witnessing that made Brigitte think more about the rules the planet had set down on that plaque.

Her earlier suspicious that the planet could take a drastic hand in punishing the people for breaking those rules was cemented but strangely enough, that didn’t scare Brigitte. If anything, it made her feel relieved. First of all, she knew nothing bad would happen on this rafting trip and was finally able to relax and enjoy the wild ride. Second, it meant that there was less chance of her hurting anyone when she eventually transformed again. Somehow Brigitte knew the planet would prevent it.

Not that it meant Brigitte was about to give up on her hopes for a cure but at least it one was one less worry preying on her mind.

Austin called out, breaking Brigitte out of her train of thought by pointing out the calm water up ahead. She sighed in a relieved manner before noticing the rapids beyond that. All she could do was chuckle. “It figures”, she laughed. “Whatever, you and Legolas have pretty proven that this wild ride is safe so I think I can handle a little more”.

He was drying off quickly in the warm sun, and his clothing, practical and well-made, was completely unharmed by the submersion in the water. When it dried completely, he knew he would look just like normal. He was already almost there. Occaisionally, small splashes of water got on his leggings, but he didn't much mind. This was, probably, the most fun he'd had in awhile. Except for singing with Giselle.

He heard Brigitte's soft-spoken exclamation, and he smiled and winked at her mischeiviously before turning his attention back to the rocks. As the raft was pushed into the calm area of water, he had a chance to look around all his companions. The little human was showing remarkable bravery, he though. He approved. The other woman was beyond competant, despite that she'd never done this before. Again, he approved. He wasn't sure about the man who had called him 'blondie' though. But at least he wasn't hindering them.

"Ready, friends? I believe those rapids are much faster than the ones we just conquered. Ace, could you give me a hand with the rocks on the other side of the raft?"

That was all the elf had time to say before they were shoved from the calm water into the rapids once more, and he had to devote most of his attention to keeping them from washing up on the rocks. It was a much wilder ride, this time, but he had no problem keeping his seat.

Ace was hopeful at the sight of calm water, but as Legolas shortly pointed out, it only seemed to get worse after the brief pause. The calm before the storm, she figured. "Will do." The brunette nodded and shifted slightly, turning her attention to the rocks, once more focusing her attention on helping them steer clear. It all took a bit more skill then she'd anticipated, but she felt she was doing well enough. The boost in speed required she react quicker then before, of course, it also made it that much more exciting too.

"Look out over there. I'm going to have to give a rough shove. Big rock coming up over here." Ace warned, digging her paddle down hard to push them out of the way of a particularly large obstacle, figuring that it be best to offer some warning so the blond didn't push the other way and send them right back into the rock she was trying to avoid. In the process she splashed up a fair amount of water, making a face as it hit her -- the denim of her jeans and her t-shirt clinging to her uncomfortably, and hair hanging damp in her face. Judging from the look of Austin and Legolas, it would dry quickly enough, but still -- She made a face and pushed her hair back casually.

Austin grinned at Briggite. "Good girl!" Her reluctance was evident, but at least she was trying to enjoy herself. Turning back to face the water, he gulped at the rapids. They were even worse than before. Austin enjoyed the calm water for a moment, not bothering to paddle as the current of the river just carried them along. But as soon as they were back in the rapids, his oar was back in the water, shoving away from rocks and paddling to keep them upright.

Austin looked down at his arms and noticed a nice rosy tint to his flesh. He groaned, realizing that his tender British skin was going to burn. Well, maybe it would end up tanning. The Planet wouldn't let anything happen to him, right? Well.. as far as death went, anyway. Would it even care about his burns? Probably not. Shit.

The rapids jostled him around on the side of the raft. He clutched the raft with his inner thighs, hoping to stay on this time. He wasn't really in the mood for another dunking. Maybe once they hit another patch of calm water he would get out and swim, take the focus of the sun off his legs and arms.

When Ace shoved them away from the large rock, Austin almost lost his grip and went jerking off to the side, but he clutched the raft with his free hand and managed to stay on, righting himself when he was sure he wasn't going to fall into the water.

He had been splashed again, and the shorts that had been drying were soaked once more, dark with moisture. He shivered lightly and pushed them lightly away from another rock, digging in. Looking to the side, he saw something he hadn't noticed before.

It was a cooler. "Huh." Looking back toward the river, he saw another much longer patch of calm approaching and decided he would investigate the cooler after they got through the rapids. A few minutes later when they were through, he swung his leg over into the raft and leaned forward. "Hey chums, look at this!" He pulled the top off to reveal cold drinks and some sandwiches and fruit. "Food and drinks!" He reached in and pulled out a beer and what looked to be an egg salad sandwich. "Lunch is on!"

It was a good thing Legolas and Ace had been able to maneuver the raft away from the large, Brigitte thought as she paddled through the rapids. If it had been her, the teenager more than likely would have brought up solid on a load of rocks by now, no doubt wrecking the raft. As more water splashed up Brigitte was noticing how uncomfortable wet and hot her black cardigan was getting.

She longed to take it off since the brunette had a t-shirt underneath but since Brigitte's arms were lined with scars, she was far too self-conscious. Instead Brigitte simply undid her sweater to let some cool air get closer to her skin as they made through to calmer waters. Th rapids were fun Brigitte had to admit but it didn't give them the opportunity to enjoy the scenery like the calmer waters did. There were some beautiful trees lining the river and with the mountains off in the distance it was quiet a lovely scene. "There are a lot worse places to be stuck", Brigitte voiced the thought out loud.

At least they wouldn't be hungry either as Austin discovered a cooler. Once he had grabbed a beer and a sandwich, Brigitte glanced in to see if there was anything she wanted. The choice was pretty good among sandwiches, drinks and fruit but the teenager bypassed the sandwiches with meat to grab a veggy and cheese sandwich and a bottle of apple juice. Carefully unwrapping the sandwich, Brigitte took a bite. "Pretty good", she commented after swallowing. "I guess the planet was telling the truth about that 'every need fulfilled thing', huh?"

She turned her green eyes on Legolas and Ace. "Are you guys hungry? Might was well eat before it gets rough again." Brigitte glanced off in the distance down the river. "Although I think we're in the clear for a while. So how long have you guys been here?" Might as well make conversation while we can, Brigitte thought.

The Elf, having dried out in the sun, looked as he always did. He was having a great time, really. The rapids were really a lot of fun. The parts he prefered, though, were the calm bits where he could just sit back and watch the scenery go by. This place reminded him of any number of rivers he'd travelled along, but of course, it wasn't any of them. He'd never been along this river before, and the proof was that there wasn't any sort of waterway in Middle Earth that would fling you back onto the raft once you'd fallen, or jumped, off.

When the food was uncovered, the elf smiled. He was hungry. But there was no food in the cooler that he was used to. No berries, Elven cakes, or anything like that. This must be human food. Carefully, he reached into the cooler, picking something at random. After all, surely the planet wouldn't let him eat anything poisonous? Or, at least, he hoped it was the case.

Unwrapping the strange plastic covering on the food as he had seen the others do, he took a cautious bite. It was meat, some kind that he couldn't identify, and cheese, along with lettuce. Very tasty, he found, and he quickly finished the whole thing off. It lacked the subtle nuances of elven food, but was good despite that.

Normally, he wouldn't have bothered much with humans, but these ones, well, they didn't seem like that much of a waste of time, really. The one that called herself Ace was very competant, and had steered them well through the rapids. The young one was shaken, but hadn't been thrown off the craft, and the human male, well, he wasn't nearly as incompetant as Legolas would have expected.

"Indeed, Lady Brigitte. In fact, this food is quite extraordinary. What do you call these strange things, and do humans eat them all the time?"

He recognized the fruit, of course, but the sandiches weren't anything he'd experienced before. As they drifted through the calm area of water, he reached over and snagged a drink. It made a strange noise when he opened it, and he looked at it with a sort of startled, yet amused expression on his fine features.

"This strange device made a noise. What is the purpose of this?"

Of course, pop cans didn't exactly exist on Middle Earth, either, and he was completely out of his element. He stopped looking at it like it might bite him in order to answer the rest of the teenager's question.

"My lady, I have been here for just a day, and already, this place is much stranger than my home world. And you, how long has it been since you came here? And were you a willing visitor to this strange place? All of you, actually, did you choose to come here?"

The calm was a welcome change from the rapids. As exciting as it was, she was getting tired of watching for rocks, and trying not to fall out of the raft. As for the food -- well, it was definitely a perk, the brunette was starving. While the others talked and Legolas looked absolutely lost when he picked out some of the food from the cooler. Maybe he wasn't from this time, or he could just be from a planet that didn't have the same sort of food-stuffs. She picked out a tuna sandwich and soda, sitting back casually, curious as the conversation turned towards everyone's arrival.

"I came here about an hour before we started this little trip. Snatched me up out of no where." She commented, before taking a bite of her sandwich. This was actually kind of nice. Ace generally wasn't one to sit around eating and chatting with people like this, but it wasn't so bad. She was even getting some of the answers she'd wanted without having to prompt the conversation herself.

Meanwhile -- watching everyone, playing on the idea that people were here from different times, she tried to peg everyones home era. The girl looked about 20th century. Legolas, with the my lady, the clothes, the humans comment -- she couldn't be sure, an alien from a less technological planet would be her best guess, or some other race from Earth's history that she had yet to encounter. As for Austin, the accent gave part of it away, but she couldn't tell much else, Ace would guess he was human though.

"Where was everyone taken from?" She asked. "I was in twenty third century London." Heading there from 18th century France actually but whatever. Usually it wasn't the best idea to mention what century she was from. Considering, however, that they were all brought to some random sentient planet, she decided it would be safe.

Austin had been idly wondering why everyone else had chosen to stay so clothed during an activity that would most likely bring about their getting wet. He could see the blond one didn't mind being fully clothed and damp, but Briggite looked distinctly uncomfortable in her sweater. But, who was Austin to make suggestions about clothing? He opted to say nothing, and just continued to munch on his sandwich. He grinned crookedly and then nodded, agreeing with Brigitte's observation. "I agree, baby. Nice sunny day, cool water, food and drink, good company. It could always be worse."

Austin relaxed against the side of the raft, his legs spread out straight in front of him. His lifejacket was rising uncomfortably up to his chin, making it difficult to drink and eat, but he managed. Comically, he didn't even think of taking it off for a while. "I arrived yesterday. I was met by this wonderful witch. Purple hair!" He mused wistfully, shaking his head. He was still disappointed he hadn't managed to coax her into his room for the rest of the day. Maybe another time, though.

Austin glanced curiously at the elf when he asked what the sandwiches were called. "You really are from a different world, aren't you?" Who had never heard of a sandwich? Or a pop can? Austin shook it off and looked at Ace after she posed her own question. "Twenty-third century London? You're joking. There's no such thing, it hasn't happened yet!" Austin was baffled. He had come from 20th century London, although he had done a little time traveling himself and ended up in the 21st century. Perhaps it wasn't all that odd.

"I'm from London, myself. 1970s, baby." He grinned and took another sloppy bite of his sandwich, crossing his legs at the ankle and taking a swig of his beer to wash it down. When he finished his sandwich, he fished in the cooler for a piece of fruit and came up with an apple. Although his teeth were ungodly crooked, they were still serviceable. He took a crunchy bite and looked around, waiting for the others to respond.

Out of this group it appeared that Brigitte had been on the planet the longest as she arrived two days before hand. "This is my third day here", she admitted in response to Legolas. "And I didn't chose to come here, I ....I passed out and woke up here".

Brigitte didn't feel the need to explain how she had passed out since werewolf transformations weren't exactly the norm anywhere. "I don't think anyone chose to come here", the teenager added. "At least everyone I've met so far has said". For a moment Brigitte thought about Maxxie's reaction the day before when John and Brigitte had found him. The young blond man hadn't wanted to believe it and even after they had parted ways for the day, Brigitte wasn't entirely sure Maxxie did believe. I hope he's alright, Brigitte thought as she took another bite out of her sandwich. Perhaps she would keep an eye out for him later to check up and see how Maxxie was doing.

Brigitte almost choked on her bite when Ace told them what century she was from. Then Austin admitted to being from the 1970s! Brigitte's eyes returned to Legolas, who's statements had pretty much proven he too was from a different time. The teenager shook her head in disbelief.

"The last I remembered it was 2003", she said out loud once she finally swallowed her sandwich. Her throat felt dry so she took a swig of apple juice before continuing. "And I was in Canada, in the middle of winter". Yes, it was incredibly strange that the planet had brought people back from different times but Brigitte was quickly reminded that the planet could do stranger things.

"This place can haul anyone from anywhere", she said, looking at the crew. "It brought my sister here and she's been dead for almost two years". Oops, perhaps Brigitte shouldn't have mentioned that little tidbit but it had kinda slipped out. "She's alive now", Brigitte added to clarify. "I mean, it's not like she's a zombie or anything".

Legolas nodded at the teenagers explanation of her situation, and kept his eyes on the river. A thought had suddenly occured to him, once that had even him a little bit worried, and he really tried not to worry about most things. He wasn't sure he should bring it up, but maybe someone would have an anwser to calm his fears.

"Friends, have any of you considered how we are to know that this trip is over? Or are we just to ride this river til the end of time?"

He looked around at the other people on the life raft, and laughed softly. It was fun, he would admit that much, but he wasn't really interested in being trapped on the raft forever. For one thing, even he would find it impossible to be endlessly fascinated with one activity for the whole time of his unending life.

"I must admit, I don't understand your calender at all. I am from the Third Age of Middle Earth, which likely means nothing to you. It is a place and time much removed from here, I am finding."

"Hasn't happened to you yet." Ace said at Austin's declaration with a slight shrug. "Time is far from linear. It's happening constantly. My present could be in your future, and his past, and all be occurring at once." She explained -- well, sort of, it was hard to explain time. Meanwhile, everyone's answers confirmed her suspicions. Clearly this planet had some serious power, taking people from different times and places. Middle Earth she hadn't even heard of. Perhaps it was a prototype of New Earth, and Third age made it sound quite young, but there was no way of telling how long an age was. Not that it really mattered.

She smiled at Brigitte with understanding. "Which means she was probably just taken from a different point in your time line." Ace wasn't ready to accept the idea that resurrection was another power this place had, so her reasoning would have to do. Still, that posed some problems. If Brigette told her sister her fate it risked changing the future in a way that wasn't allowed should they be sent back to their own times, which could cause some serious problems. She figured it was best to focus on right now though; why they were brought here, and how to leave. "What have you done your time here? Are required activities like this common, or have you noticed anything else odd aside from being here at all with the golem things?" Ace questioned, attention on Brigette since she had been here the longest.

The idea about the ride didn't sink in until a few moments later, too interested in other matters to really consider it. "We've been making slow turns. My guess is we're goin' around in a circle, but we could always stop if you spot a clear bank and walk back, if you like." Ace really couldn't say for sure, but that's what it had seemed like to her. If they rode it out or hiked back made little difference to her, but she assumed that they wouldn't be left to float around forever.

"I doubt anyone chooses to come here." He reiterated Brigitte's statement about the same time she said it. Pausing a moment, he thought about what he'd just said and then interjected. "Not that it isn't a nice place!" He didn't want the Planet to think he was being ungrateful or anything and decide he wasn't worth the trouble to keep around any longer. "I woke up here, too. By the lake. It was the strangest thing. One minute I was talking to Basil, and the next thing I know my toes are in the sand." He shook his head, bewildered. He hadn't felt a thing, but some people had felt a tug or pull or nausea even.

His attention turned to the preoccupied elf and he blinked a moment. "See, now if you had watched the video, it said that a horse and cart would be waiting for us to take us and the raft back to the dock. We just have to watch for it." He grinned crookedly and then raised a brow when the blond said he was from the Third Age of Middle Earth. Middle Earth? What the? A lot of what the elf said didn't make a whole lot of sense to the Brit. He just let it go in favor of turning his attention to Ace. She was quite a bit more appealing and she made more sense.

Well, most of what she said made sense. When she started talking about time, he kind of zoned out and came back only when she started talking to Brigitte about her sister. He hated to disagree with the woman who reminded him a lot of Vanessa, but he believed the Planet had enough power to bring people back from the dead. Especially if it had enough power to pull them here out of their own existence. He opened his mouth to say that, when she asked another question. But her attention was not on him, so he too, looked to Brigitte.

Brigitte listened as Ace replied that Ginger might be from a different time but silently the werewolf thought about Ginger's words to her on the first day. Her redheaded sister had claimed to have died for Brigitte. It wasn't true, Ginger had died because she had tried to kill Brigitte, not because she was trying to save her but Ginger had a way of distorting the truth for her own purposes.

'I'm going to have to track her down at some point', Brigitte thought. Even if Ginger couldn't kill anyone, Brigitte wouldn't put it past her sister to try. She had discovered long ago that her sister had a taste for blood. 'Should I warn these people?' the girl wondered but decided against it. What if someone got into the their head to go after her? Unlikely but still a worry.

Ace was asking Brigitte another question which brought the teenager out of her dark thoughts. "Not much, mostly just explored the ranch when I could. As far as I know, these mandatory activities aren't a daily thing. This is the first time I've had to do one but they seem to be available for anytime if you choose to do them. As for the golems...." Brigitte racked her mind for the few times she had encountered those creatures. "They seem to just run the hotel and show people around if they need it". Not that they had shown Brigitte around, she luckily had John for that day but the teenager had spied the golems doing it for other guests.

When the older woman made a comment about stopping the ride, Brigitte nodded in agreement. "This has been better than I expected but I would like to head back to the ranch at some point.". Austin explained that there would be a horse and cart waiting for them at the end of the ride, something that had been mentioned in the video.

"Great", Brigitte commented, relieved that at least Austin knew how the ride would end. Since Legolas had shown himself to have really good eyesight, Brigitte looked to him. "Do you see a horse and cart off in the distance?"

The elf listened to the humans speak, with a sort of amused smile on his face. He liked to observe them, he found. It was much different that how elves behaved, although not as primitive as he would have expected. Still, there was defiantely new stuff going here, and he was interested to learn all he could. After all, there didn't seem to be any other elves on Mirage.

When directly addressed, he turned to fix his eyes on the teenager. He had noticed that she seemed fairly thoughtful, and wondered idly what sort of things were going through her head. Humans were, he would readily admit, a mystery to him.

It was a good question, though, and he very carefully set his paddle down and rose up onto his knees. He shaded his eyes from the sun and looked down the river. Actually, the horse and carriage was very close, and he was slightly ashamed that he hadn't seen it long ago. Still, he'd been busy with the rocks and everything.

"Yes, lady Brigitte, I see the carriage we seek. It is approximately 500 feet down the river. It will be coming up on the right side very shortly." He narrowed his eyes to get a better look. "And it appears that there is a period of calm water that starts just before that point."

Ace fell silent once her questions were answered, not expecting the others to know much else, and really not sure what more to say. She could explore the planet later, maybe see if this place could provide her with some equipment to work on her bike. Hopefully this would be the end of required activities as well, and she could find a way out of here. Resort planets were nice enough, but she preferred Earth and its problems any day. She hadn't wanted to be here anyways, not that any of them had.

She finished off her sandwich, and waited for the bank to come up so they could head back, still keeping a cautious eye on the water around them. This was getting rather dull. The rapids at least gave her something to focus on, but in the calm water all she had to keep her occupied was sipping her drink, and watching the others.

"Legolas, what species are you?" She asked curiously, never mind that it might come off as a awkward question to be asking. He wasn't human, he was from some land she'd never heard of, she couldn't help but wonder. He seemed to be interested in watching everyone -- incredible eyesight -- nice hair, she wished she could get her own hair to lay straight like that. Her hair had become a curly mess, even worse then normal after getting splashed and air drying.

Right before that calm patch of water where the golem was waiting with a horse and cart to tote not only the riders but the raft and things back to the dock, there was another small stretch of rapids. Rapids that were closing in on them quite quickly. Austin had finished his sandwich and beer, and looked down the river while the others were peering that direction.

The elf had magnificent sight. Austin couldn't see anything further down the river past the upcoming rapids. Scrambling up onto his seat, he grabbed for his oar again. He supposed he could have ridden the rapids just as snuggly in the bottom of the raft, but there were still rocks that needed to be dodged.

"Ready, mates?" Grinning crookedly, the International Man of Mystery pushed his glasses up on his nose and anticipated the coming rapids. As they entered them, he pushed away from rocks, dug in with his paddle to speed them on and laughed. He was having a grand time, and although he had been ordered to do it, it hadn't turned out all bad. He'd met three nice people he might not have met otherwise, and he'd gotten a little sun. He might be sore tomorrow, but it was alright.

After the brief bout of white water, the raft entered the calmer water where the horse and wagon were waiting with a golem beside them. He waved excitedly at the stone faced golem and dug in his paddle to steer them toward the bank. When the closed in, he hopped out and pushed the raft closer to the bank.

The golem held it so that they could all get out and then single-handedly picked it up and put it in the wagon, cooler and all. Austin nodded, impressed with the brute's strength and then shrugged looking at the others. "I have some things at the dock I have to ride back to get. Anyone else need to come?"

Climbing up into the second row of seats on the wagon, he settled himself and prepared for the ride back to the dock.

Brigitte had enjoyed her first trip river rafting but was glad to hear they were coming near an end when Legolas told her that he did indeed see a horse and cart further down the river. The group maneuvered their raft carefully down the river right before the hit another patch of rapids. "Ready", Brigitte replied to Austin's question but she nearly lost her paddle when Ace asked Legolas what species he was. For one thing, Brigitte had assumed that he was human but now that it was brought to her attention, he did smell different than Ace or Austin.

It was clean scent, woodsy. She had picked it up before but had assumed it came from their surroundings. But this question also made Brigitte nervous. She herself wasn't human and Brigitte didn't want others to find out what she was.

Well, John already knew but that was different. Ginger had told him that and he apparently had no trouble accepting it. Nor had John seemed to judge her on it. She thought fondly about the older man for a moment before the river nearly hauled the paddle out of her hands and forced Brigitte to pay attention.

The group made it through the rapids to calm water once more when Brigitte saw the cart up ahead. When she climbed out of the raft, she nearly fell out into the water but managed to steady herself. Once the others were out Brigitte watched with amazement as the golem lifted everything into the cart. While Brigitte could punch holes through walls, she doubted she was as strong as one of the golems.

Brigitte debated whether or not she should get a ride back to the docks. It would be a good idea since they were kind of far from the resort but she was anxious about Ace's questions. 'Stop it', she told herself. 'Ace isn't going to ask if you're a werewolf? Why the hell would she?' Brigitte felt silly. She didn't have anything to worry about so why was she stressing.

"Yeah, I could use a ride", she finally said. "My legs are a little rubbery after that ride".

Legolas blinked at the abrupt question, but then, he really didn't understand humans. Maybe it was normal for them to ask questions like that. And it did show a certain degree of perception, that she was able to see through the fact that he really wasn't that different from a human. Finer features, and of course the ears, but that was about it.

"Apologies, lady Ace. I am an elf of Mirkwood, a great forest that I call home. Or, rather, I did. Before I was brought here."

He smiled and nodded at her, but had no time to say anything else before the raft was swept up by the rapids, running quicker than ever now, and born along rapidly towards the horse and cart. He threw his head back and laughed in delight as they made their final ride, and when they stopped, he jumped out of the raft like he hadn't just been sitting for a long time.

"I, too, shall take the ride back. I would like to explore this strange new world further, and it would take me awhile to get back."

He climbed unto the wagon and sat there comfortably, waiting for everyone else to be ready so that they could go. It had been quite an adventure.

"An elf?" Now that was a new one. Straight out of the storybooks, but she didn't mind. It was interesting. "Well, when we get off this planet I'd love to see Mirkwood." A large alien and apparently elven forest was bound to be fun to hike through.

Meanwhile, she noticed that Brigette looked a bit more nervous at her question to Legolas. Maybe she wasn't entirely human either? Not that it mattered really, and Ace wouldn't pry when clearly the girl wasn't too keen on it being mentioned. Of course, it could just be she was unsettled by the idea of someone non-human. It was a bit of a shock for people who'd never met other species in this sense before.

"I've got to get my pack and jacket back." Ace commented before climbing up into the cart, the last in, and waiting for the cart to start back.
