Legolas ([info]princegreenleaf) wrote in [info]mirage_rpg,
The Elf, having dried out in the sun, looked as he always did. He was having a great time, really. The rapids were really a lot of fun. The parts he prefered, though, were the calm bits where he could just sit back and watch the scenery go by. This place reminded him of any number of rivers he'd travelled along, but of course, it wasn't any of them. He'd never been along this river before, and the proof was that there wasn't any sort of waterway in Middle Earth that would fling you back onto the raft once you'd fallen, or jumped, off.

When the food was uncovered, the elf smiled. He was hungry. But there was no food in the cooler that he was used to. No berries, Elven cakes, or anything like that. This must be human food. Carefully, he reached into the cooler, picking something at random. After all, surely the planet wouldn't let him eat anything poisonous? Or, at least, he hoped it was the case.

Unwrapping the strange plastic covering on the food as he had seen the others do, he took a cautious bite. It was meat, some kind that he couldn't identify, and cheese, along with lettuce. Very tasty, he found, and he quickly finished the whole thing off. It lacked the subtle nuances of elven food, but was good despite that.

Normally, he wouldn't have bothered much with humans, but these ones, well, they didn't seem like that much of a waste of time, really. The one that called herself Ace was very competant, and had steered them well through the rapids. The young one was shaken, but hadn't been thrown off the craft, and the human male, well, he wasn't nearly as incompetant as Legolas would have expected.

"Indeed, Lady Brigitte. In fact, this food is quite extraordinary. What do you call these strange things, and do humans eat them all the time?"

He recognized the fruit, of course, but the sandiches weren't anything he'd experienced before. As they drifted through the calm area of water, he reached over and snagged a drink. It made a strange noise when he opened it, and he looked at it with a sort of startled, yet amused expression on his fine features.

"This strange device made a noise. What is the purpose of this?"

Of course, pop cans didn't exactly exist on Middle Earth, either, and he was completely out of his element. He stopped looking at it like it might bite him in order to answer the rest of the teenager's question.

"My lady, I have been here for just a day, and already, this place is much stranger than my home world. And you, how long has it been since you came here? And were you a willing visitor to this strange place? All of you, actually, did you choose to come here?"
