Riley had been spending a lot of time on the grounds the last couple of days, going into one of the standing but not technically usable buildings.  The Texan had spent all yesterday cleaning up one of the larger patient rooms,  he assumed this building was a medical building before and this room, was probably a ward room at one time, for about four patients, but that made it perfect because it gave him a bigger room. It was on the top floor, back corner as far away from the hospital as he could get.  The room was spotless now, so was the bathroom, which worked much to Riley's surprise.

Electricity did not however so on one of his last trips over he had shoved as many candles as he could find in the box he was carrying. Riley walked into the room and smiled wide at what he had accomplished today. He had gotten up before sunrise and had dragged a couple of mattresses and pillows over to the building. He set them into the two bed frames he found and cleaned, lowered the rails, pushed them together and locked their wheels so they wouldn't move apart. Then he made the bed with king sized sheets, (putting the sheets over both mattresses so it was like one big mattress.) he had bought and washed and threw a thick comforter on top, it almost looked like a real bed.

Riley then dragged some furniture he found in storage up to the room. Of course he cleaned it first before he brought it into the clean apartment...that was what he was calling it, an apartment. So he had a vinyl couch, an armchair in a hideous fifties pattern, but in good repair that he covered in thick blankets to make them more comfortable and appealing. He set a couple of small filing cabinets up in the middle and put a board across them to make a table and covered it with a sheet. A beat up dresser was serving as an entertainment stand, Riley had found a big, old television and set it on top, hooked up the cheap dvd player he bought and then attached those to the small generator that he found in the basement as well. He walked over to the windows and shut the somewhat light blocking curtains and started lighting a few candles so it wouldn't be pitch dark when he brought Rez over, but not all of them because that would be just asking for a fire.

Riley had a huge container full of food, some wine, beer and water, towels, clothes for them both...it would be as close as they could get to the real world as possible but fuck Rez deserved it. Riley hurried back to the hospital so he could shower off the grime from scrubbing and setting up the apartment and then headed to Rez's room to drag him out for his surprise. Once he got there he knocked once and opened the door, smiling wide at his lover. "Throw your shoes on babyboy, I have something to show you."

Riley was cleaning up his office a bit, he had been a bit lazy in cleaning up after himself the last few days and he needed to make sure the office was more presentable for his patients. Rez didn't care so much but for the others he needed to get rid of the junk food wrappers and things.  He straightened up his books and put the piles of them on his desk back onto his shelves, straighten up his pictures and then made sure they were all two inches apart. Riley's ocd was showing. He snapped the elastic band around his wrist to get himself to stop obsessing about the photographs and continued cleaning up his office.

He refolded the blanket he kept on the back of the couch and pulled the pillows out from between the cushions where they were squished and set them back on the couch where they should be and then set his bowl of candy on his desk, for him and the patient and waited for the orderly to come by with Will. He hadn't really seen Will much yet so this would be good, he heard he had freaked out the other day and had been concerned for him since.

Riley groaned as he rubbed his sore leg on his way to the cafeteria. He shouldn't have run for as long as he had, his leg did not appreciate it but he loved the feeling and it was raining, he loved running in the rain, so he would probably keep doing it until he was told by his own doctor not to. He smirked to himself as he grabbed an orange juice at how pissed Jane will be at him when he whined to her that his leg hurt. Which of course he fully planned on doing just to make her sigh his name in annoyance because it amused him.

He grabbed some basic breakfast fare and made his way over to a table instead of dragging it back to the staff area to eat. He didn't see the point when he'd just have to bring the dishes back anyways. He bit into his toast as he looked out over the few patients up and around this morning. He felt for them, when he lost his memory he had been a patient at Dax for a few months...worst months of his life, in fact he was still working through them. He scrunched his nose and then focused on the joys of coffee as he sipped his.

It had been a long week since Rez had arrived here. First, there was the usual whole adjusting thing that came along with being moved to a new institution. Second, there was the fact that Riley was here, was his doctor, and they had already slept together. Third, there was all the crap about River and about his son that he and Riley had talked about the day before. So yeah, it had been a long week. And yet it was only Wednesday, his third day here. Already it felt like he had been here for months.

Rez had spent the entire night last night awake. His thoughts were running away with him to the point that he couldn't even close his eyes. So by the time morning came, he was exhausted. And it was up, having breakfast, off to the rec room for a while, then there was lunch and he was just damn tired after that. So when the orderly came to get him for his appointment with Riley, he was asleep. And when Rez was sleeping, it was hard to wake him up. So he'd told them to fuck off because he didn't feel good, and he was still passed out several hours later.

He would be very disappointed when he woke up that he had missed out on seeing him.

Riley finished rearranging his shelves, cleaning off the couch and the wall trying to make sure that his office did not smell like sex from yesterday. He still couldn't believe that he had done that...then again of course he could, he was still in love with Rez, he had no idea why but he really was. This morning he had signed the papers that they had talked about and they were sitting inside his desk drawer to go out with the rest of the mail on sunday.

He had his first session with Cissy today, she had been going to Dr. Jennings who had been caught being way too affectionate with the female patients. Riley hadn't been surprised, he had seen the look on the guy's face when he looked at girls like Cissy and Zowie. There was a hunger there that you shouldn't have when you are a doctor. Riley nearly laughed at himself when he thought that, right the same hunger you have every-time you even slightly catch a glimpse of Rez, he thought to himself.

Riley huffed out a breath and then called the orderly to tell him it was time to bring Cissy, because it was time for her appointment. He set down the phone and wondered what Jane was going to say about Rez, hopefully she wouldn't be against it now since she wasn't before.

Rez was in a much better mood today when he headed to therapy than he had been the day before though that was due in large part to Zowie. He was still thinking about her, trying to figure her out, as the orderly ushered him down the hallway to Riley's office. She was strange. She was kind of like.. him, only a girl. And that was just weird. He was so used to girls being so... clingy and expectant that the fact that she wasn't just amazed him. And that was all that was on his mind, pretty much, until he arrived at that door once more.

A knock sounded their arrival and the orderly waited for the okay to open the door and gesture the patient inside. Rez was grinning, a sort of Cheshire cat grin as he strolled into the room, plopping his ass down on the sofa in the room instead of the chair, stretching himself out as the orderly dismissed himself. "What's up, Doc?" He asked, suddenly even more amused. Shit was about to get entertaining and he knew it.

After talking to Rez he knew he had to speak to Jane, he had no idea she was going to be working here as well. Riley wasn't sure what the hell he was doing, it had been a long time since he had seen Jane and the last time he did it had not been good. They had been friends once, so close, even dated in high school but now after what happened at Dax who knew where they stood. But Riley decided that he needed to speak to her, they were going to be working together and not really able to get away from each other since they couldn't leave the island until the weekends.

He checked himself in the mirror before he left his office and then rolled his eyes at himself, what the hell it wasn't like he cared but part of him did because that was Riley. He made his way down the halls of the asylum and glanced around, the patients weren't the same but the feeling was. These people were hurting, even if they didn't know it and they needed help and he was determined this time around to get it right. Despite their problems in the past Jane was a good nurse and now Riley felt he was a good doctor.

The walk didn't take as long as he thought and he took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, snapping the elastic band on his wrist a few times before knocking on her door and hoping she was actually there and he didn't have to go searching for her.

Rez had been down this road before. Sure, not here at Midian, but this was the fifth asylum he had been in, or maybe the sixth, so he was used to the drill. He'd arrived yesterday along with a few other new admissions, been ushered off to a room after they made sure he didn't have anything on him or in his luggage that he could hurt someone with, and then he was locked up for the night. Exciting! But today was perhaps the most exciting event of all. He got to meet his new shrink! Great. Just what he needed, another douche bag telling him that he was delusional and all the shit he knew to be true wasn't.

"What's this guy's name?" The man that was escorting Rez to his appointment didn't even speak. "Can you tell me if it's even a man?" That question went unanswered as well. All this did was piss him off, yanking his arm from the other man's grasp. "Get your motherfuckin' hands offa me. I can walk on my damn own." He then stalked off in front of the man who grabbed him just to pull him back and steer him down the correct corridor. Fucking douche.

The orderly knocked on the door before he pushed it open and then practically shoved the smaller man inside. Casting a scowl in his direction, he didn't even look to see who the dude was, too busy trying to kill that orderly fuck with looks alone. "Quinn, this is your new guy." The man stepped inside in front of him, crossing to the desk to place the folder down upon the wood in front of the other man. It was then that Rez saw him, and after a second of stunned silence, during which time the orderly shoved him down into a chair and left, Rez busted out laughing.
