Good Ending/Bad Ending meme
Do you get a happily ever after? Or a 'Rocks fall, everyone dies'? Why not both?

* Post your characters and set up two scenes. One with an ideal setting (They got what they always wanted, hit it big, became rich and famous, etc.) and one with a bad twist of events (They're homeless, everyone hates them, maybe they're even dying!).
* Others respond to one of the two settings (Or both in different comments, if they want!)
* Respond.
* ???
* Profit!!!

Just remember: no ending is set in stone, good endings can turn sour, and bad endings can be made better. Just see where it takes you and enjoy the ride!

As predicted, it was another few days before she was dropped into his room again, her bruises were all healed at that point, but she was pale, she'd been indoors and out of the sun too long, "Good morning." She said, cheerfully enough, rocking up onto her toes and back as she squinted at him, first with one eye, then the other.

He opens his eyes, half awake in return. They'd already been medicating him for today and he wasn't over it yet. "...Lucy?" he gets out thickly. "Come to rescue me..."

"Not today." She said, giving him another small smile, "You've only got twelve percent today. They've got you on the good stuff now don't they?" She shook her head, "Or higher dose of the same stuff. If I didn't know better I'd say they were trying to build up your immunity."

There's a dry laugh, Bruce trying to turn himself over on the bed. "New drug...have to say it's pretty effective." He felt as if he could either sleep forever, float away, or start giggling at the drop of a hat. It was very hard to be clinical when you felt absolutely ridiculous.

"oh you are just as high as a kite aren't you?" She laughed softly, shaking her head, inching just a little closer, curious to see how close they'd let her get before coming to get her, "It's kind of adorable, like a baby sloth. You know it would bite you if it could juuuust get over there."

"Mmm..." he makes an affirmative noise, his eyes sliding shut again. Trying to stay awake. "Don't think I could bite anyone right now..."

And another little shuffling half-step closer, "You're not a biter anyway, even I can tell that and I'm bad at reading people." Another little step, arm's reach was as close as they were going to let her get, apparently, that was good, she didn't resist as she was pulled away, giving him a wave, "Sleep well, I'll see you later."

Testing the limits, was she? That was more than he had been able to do, but it was good to know they were still keeping people away so he wouldn't hurt them. Bruce answers, but he's not sure what he says in return. Hopefully it was something coherent.

Later that night, he's recovered a bit, even though he still feels out of it, and is drawing on the side of his cell with a white rock. Churning out scientific formulas and math equations that don't lead anywhere. Talking to himself too.

It's very possible that his sanity in this situation is fading fast.

She was back that night, giving another quiet whistle to alert him to her presence, smiling as she leaned against the wall just inside the door, "Guess you have them worried, if they're giving you the new stuff."

He makes an amused sound but it sounds a little sad as well. "They're worried..." Scraping away at the wall as he adds another two symbols. "It's not all good. Bad side effects, I can't focus...can't stop working..." It was a nervous energy, something was driving him to keep going. It could be a reaction to the medication, he couldn't be sure. If he kept this up, they would be dosing him again soon.

"You bring anything?" Hopefully an antidote, stimulant, or something useful.

She grinned as she brought her hands out from behind her bank, dancing the epi-pen she'd brought end over end across her knuckles, "Found this just lying around. And better than that? Predicted an exit. 87 percent probability. There were ... visitors today."

Bruce tries to focus on the pen, knowing instantly what it was. He nods, that worried look back on his face. "As good a time as any." He felt antsy enough thanks to their drug cocktail. Even if he wasn't completely sane at the moment. "...this isn't going to be fun. Do it quick and make sure you're clear."

"Oh fast is something I'm good at." She said, grinning once more. She nudged the door open, making sure it was wide enough for her to get through and yank closed behind her again, not that it would buy her a lot of time, but it would be some.

Both brows arched, stretching her fingers, "You ready for this?"

"No...never ready for this." He shuts his eyes so he won't see her do it. Last thing he should give the Hulk is the person who did this to him, not that it's going to hurt much.

"Don't warn me, just do it." Trying to hold still, but the hand that the rock is in is shaking a little.

"Okay." She replied, shifting her weight a little from foot to foot, "Maybe I'll see you again sometime."

She hadn't been lying about being fast, since that second statement was from right in front of him, she administered the epi-pen like a pro and then the door slammed behind her as she made good on her escape, hoping that it wasn't all a trap.

"Hope so...ow." That was pretty fast. Bruce drops the chalk rock, his hands balling into fists. His chains rattled, stupid things that they were. He was tired of being here, sick of the drugs...

His heart rate shot up like a rocket, 180, 190...even after the automatic system kicked in, by that time he was at 200 and too far gone. His eyes flashed green and Bruce didn't remember anything after that.

A moment later, there was a small clang as the wrist manacles hit the floor and a much louder PFTHOOM! as the metal door was hit right off it's hinges and skidded across to land against the wall opposite. Alarms were going off left and right.

The Hulk was loose!

Lucy was making good on her own escape, the exit was right where she'd predicted, but what she hadn't predicted was a key-code to operate the elevator. She was cursing, repeatedly, but doing her best to concentrate, to figure out from the wear on the buttons what the combination was.

Though with the cacophony behind her, it was hard to concentrate.

There's yells and footsteps, gunfire and whatever else they can throw at him.

Noise, too much noise, have to stop them, stop them all...

And after awhile, there's less noise than before, apparently the bad guys are losing. A large shadow is cast over Lucy, the Hulk nearly filling the whole height of the corridor at ten feet tall.

That had not been part of the plan, and for a moment she froze, like a deer in the headlights, there were too many probabilities for her to work through the tangle right away.

Hulk was an uncomplicated sort. No probabilities needed for him. A huge green fist shoots out and BAM! The door is no longer an issue. Ignoring the girl, he lumbers through with huge steps, wanting to put as much distance between this place and him as possible.

Almost ridiculous to believe the huge green man was once Bruce Banner.

"Right." She said, mostly to herself at that point, "Direct route."

She hesitated only a moment before following, she trusted herself to be faster than he was if he decided not to like her, but she didn't know what was outside, how much ground there was to cover before they were off the site, or if there was even any ground to cover and they were just hidden in plain sight, under some sort of skyscraper somewhere.

She honestly had no idea.

The faster, the better. There may have been a path of chaos behind him, but Hulk was still being pursued. Likely she was too.

Guards were hot on their tail, shooting off all manner of weapons. Hulk snarls as more come around the corner, blocking off the elevator and firing machine guns at him. Putting up a hand to block the shots before he brings his two fists down on the floor with a loud roar.

The floor cracks and splits, a mini earthquake going along it to knock all of them off their feet. Hulk leaps forward, bursting into the elevator and tearing off the ceiling with his hands.

She might have to make her presence known if she wants his attention. But that could be risky. At least in the flickering lights, she can see him fully. Not much of Bruce left in his features, but he's there if you look carefully.

A firefight was more what she was used to, trajectories were easy to predict which made getting shot easy to avoid, she was guessing that they were well and away from civilization if the guards were willing to risk that kind of firepower.

She hesitated only a moment longer before stepping out into view, giving a sharp whistle with her thumb and forefinger to get his attention, figuring worst case scenario, she'd just have to get out of the way.

His face snaps towards the sharp sound, a scowl across his face, expecting another attack. But no, it was...wait, he remembered her, didn't he? The wary hesitation is enough that he's trying to remember if she was a friend or an enemy. Not that Hulk had any friends...except for Betty.

He...or it, doesn't speak. It's very hard to process slowly enough for him to speak when he's like this. Everything is instinctual, it's all so fast and furious inside his mind, the whole world feels like it's coming at him at once.

She grinned then, quick and sharp, "Keep going, big guy, I'm right behind you." She didn't know whether or not he'd understand her, but she had to try.
