Good Ending/Bad Ending meme
Do you get a happily ever after? Or a 'Rocks fall, everyone dies'? Why not both?

* Post your characters and set up two scenes. One with an ideal setting (They got what they always wanted, hit it big, became rich and famous, etc.) and one with a bad twist of events (They're homeless, everyone hates them, maybe they're even dying!).
* Others respond to one of the two settings (Or both in different comments, if they want!)
* Respond.
* ???
* Profit!!!

Just remember: no ending is set in stone, good endings can turn sour, and bad endings can be made better. Just see where it takes you and enjoy the ride!

She grinned then, quick and sharp, "Keep going, big guy, I'm right behind you." She didn't know whether or not he'd understand her, but she had to try.

He understands after a fashion at least that she's not going to try and hurt him...and she seems to be encouraging him to break stuff, also a good way to get on his good side.

A snort and he pulls down the remains of the ceiling. There's more men coming and the Hulk throws a piece straight at them, missing her as it bowls them over behind her. There's a cable to climb left in the remains of the elevator but Hulk prefers to grab handfuls of the walls as he climbs up the shaft.

She ducked the rubble easily, grimacing faintly at the cables, climbing had never been one of her favorite things, but she knew it was the only way out. She took only a moment to rip a band of fabric off the bottom of her shirt, folding it over and looping it once around the cable to give her something to brace against as she climbed, resting now and then to make sure she wasn't going to wear herself out, hoping that they didn't get wise and just turn the elevator on.

Once she gets midway, the cables suddenly move up of their own accord. Or so it seems. As the Hulk pulls them up with one hand, her included. Seems he decided she needed a hand up.

There was a startled yelp at the first sign of movement, but once she realized what was going on she laughed, shaking her head and just holding on, "Thanks."

She wasn't scared of him...why wasn't she scared of him? He was pretty scary looking.

Hulk pulls the cables completely out, holding her above the floor he was on so she could step off. There were noises down the shaft, the guards figuring out which way they went. As if it wasn't plainly obvious.

Hulk snarls and turns to the nearest wall. Not wasting time with doors, he goes right through it, leaving a Hulk sized hole as he breaks through to daylight. It's been ages since Bruce saw the sun.

Hulk strides out onto a green lawn and promptly is shot at from turrets on the building. In reflex, he picks up Lucy and runs, going faster and faster till they have left that horrid place far behind. Trees and bushes blending into a blur as he runs.

There wasn't much that she was actually afraid of, fear was one of the things that had been cut and trained out of her back before her first grand escape. She was wary of him, a little, a healthy amount, but not scared.

It had been altogether too long since she'd been out in the sun either, and even though it was a watery dawn light, she wanted to just bask in it. Though that basking was cut off by gunfire and she was startled again as he picked her up like she weighed nothing, squeaking in surprise at the movement, finally having to just close her eyes against the blur of scenery whipping past.

It's awhile before he stops...or rather slows down. Till he's certain there's no threats around. By that time, they're probably in the next state over. Somewhere in the woods.

He finally slows to a stop at the edge of a small creek and waterfall, putting her down on her feet. Awfully gentle for something that big.

Hulk just stands there, watching her. It was quiet here. He liked the quiet.

The woods were just fine with her, she'd had survival training and could probably last for a good long while in the woods.

She was a little unsteady on her feet at first, but regained her equilibrium soon enough, smiling up at him, "Thanks."

There's confusion across his face, still trying to work out what he thought about her.

Finally he turns with a grunt and sits at the edge of the stream on a fallen log. Sitting and waiting...

"You, uh, hungry? Probably some crayfish in the water." She said, cocking her head towards it, "And I can probably find some wild asparagus, provided this is spring weather and not autumn weather."

Her words were fast and far away sounding to him, tinny like acid rain on a roof. But they were starting to slow down.

He didn't look hungry, he looked tired for once. Not nearly as angry as before, he looked to finally be settling down.

She smiled, shaking her head and patting the back of his hand, "Okay, how about you settle down, maybe take a nap, I'll take care of making sure we don't starve, okay? I'll be right back."

He doesn't move his hand away, seeming to accept that she's there. He continues to watch her her move around the clearing till exhaustion caves in on him. It's a similar cascade reaction to the first event trigger, only in reverse.

Already, he looks to be shrinking down smaller as the Hulk slumps to the side to lay on the ground, stretched out. It's a matter of minutes before it's just Bruce laying there. Shirtless and pale, but whole with not a mark on him. Fast asleep.

She smiled when she returned to find that, shaking her head as she unloaded a few early apples from the folded side of her shirt. She perched herself on the log then to eat one while keeping tabs on their surroundings. She didn't think they'd been followed, but that didn't mean there weren't other predators out here.

He sleeps for awhile, about an hour before the cold wakes him. Or rather, his lack of shirt wakes him and he shivers. Cracking his eyes open with a groan and finding grass under his hands.

Something must have gone right. He's hoping that's the case.

In that time, Lucy had done some scavenging and had come up with a galvanized steel bucket that was now being used to boil some crawfish in next to a tidy fire on the edge of the creek. She was perched at the water's edge, surveying the silt for more of the critters, snapping one up easily, holding it by the thorax where it couldn't pinch her, dropping it into her makeshift kettle.

"Oh, you're up. There's some apples." She nodded to where they were lined up on the log, "If you're hungry, once I get these guys cooked I'll boil some water for drinking."

He blinks at her, confused for a moment. It's disorienting enough reversing from being a large green rage monster. To wake to food being prepared is even more puzzling.

"Lucy?" He struggles to sit up, leaning against the log. "Did I...I mean, it worked? He didn't hurt you, did he?"

"Yeah, and yeah it worked." She shrugged, "He's the one who got me, us, all the way out here, wherever here is." A shrug, "Can't be too far away from civilization, I'll climb a tree later, see if I can spot anything."

Bruce sighs and leans back against the log, closing his eyes, relieved. Not knowing if he hurt someone is worse than knowing. It's been so long since he's been outside, even if he's missing a shirt, it's very nice here.

He opens his eyes to look across at her, wanting to say something. "Thank you. I know that was a huge risk on your part."

"I couldn't stay there any longer." She said with a shrug, sitting back on her heels, arms folded across her knees, chin resting on them, "Even if it hadn't worked, that would have been better."

Apparently she'd been fully ready to die if things hadn't turned out.

He'd argue that point if he had any energy to. It wasn't like he hadn't had the same plan at certain points along the way. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately for him, the Hulk would never allow him to get killed. Or even to kill himself. It was a self-preservation reflex that he could never get rid of.

There's a long pause before he asks, "...what did you think of...y'know...?" The Hulk. It's awkward to ask. "I never get to see him myself so..."

She tilted her head, thinking that over, finally settling on: "He's ... big." She shrugged, "But surprisingly light on his feet." She pointed to the direction they'd come from, there was definitely a trail, but nothing as bad as she would have expected from something the Hulk's size, "I mean, that's the way we came, full-on, surprised there aren't any toppled trees or anything."

That earns a half smile. "Considering he can somehow lose pursuers while still being so big...I don't know how he does it, really." Maybe it was comparable to a moose, being so large but able to disappear into the woods at a moments notice without getting stuck.

Another shrug, finally stretching out, "Might just be he's got better spatial awareness than most people. I think he'd kind of have to, being that big."
