The tenth day was finally here and Owen was going to make his appearance. This was the simplest thing he had done, and yet, it was the one he had spent the longest time working on. On the morning of the 13th, one day before Valentine's Day, Owen walked to the Payne household with a stack of cardboard under one arm and a nervous smile on his face.

Right on the doorstep of the Payne's household was a series of chocolate bars placed in a heart shaped pattern.

A day without chocolate is a day without sunshine.

The good thing about not sleeping is that it allowed him a lot of time to plan something like this. Sure, Owen had been neglecting his studies for the last few days, but he was only studying to pass the time anyway. He liked doing this, expressing and showing his romantic side. It felt oddly more productive than reading and making maps.

So around three in the morning, Owen stepped out of his house with a bucket of chalk in his hands. He remembered reading a story a few years ago about a man (or a woman) in New York drawing a heart in chalk on every sidewalk step for three city blocks. The morning of Valentine's day the city woke up to love.

Owen planned to replicate that, albeit on a smaller scale. He found his way to the Payne household and began the long and tedious task of drawing little hearts on the sidewalk all the way to the entrance of Mckinley.

He was in for a long night. But it was worth it.

This one was tricky. It wasn't as elaborate as the scavenger hunt he had done the day before but it was much more difficult to hide. He had to bribe his brother not to tell anyone and hide it from Madison when he was working on it.

It was rather simple actually, but a little more public than the last few things he's done (except for the PA thing, that was pretty public)

It took him a while to get up on the roof. He hadn't quite thought it all through, and in fact, he had considered just putting it up somewhere on the hallway but one of the janitors took pity on him and let him through.

That was how Owen managed to hang a rather large banner down the front entrance of the school.

The banner contained a large painted black 6 and the lyrics to a song he had posted on his journal at midnight:

"So tell me, where did I go wrong before you? Before you came along, well it seems like I was lost. You showed me how to do things right, now I'm so glad that now you're mine. "

Out of everything Owen had done, this was definitely the most elaborate. He had originally intended to do something simple today, something like stuffing Madison's locker filled with the kind of homemade valentines cards people would make in the third grade, but then an idea struck him and it wouldn't leave.

He knew he had to do it.

And it wasn't like he was getting any sleep anyway. What better thing to do than this?

In the morning, once again much too early for anyone to wake, Owen proceeded to Madison's house, leaving a nice simple children's valentine's card taped to the mailbox. He hoped she would see this for it was the one that would set off the hunt.

Owen managed to find his way into the PA system. Something he managed to do with the consent of the faculty. He struck a deal with his history teacher who got him into the office he needed to be at. It was only five minutes of use and it was during lunch so that it wouldn't disturb any classes.

Owen wasn't one to disturb learning after all, although it would have been amusing to see the student's reactions in the middle of class. Still, this was much better, and this way he got to make sure the job was done right.

The great thing about being in the AV club was that he had access to the school's audio equipment, which allowed him to hook up the PA system to a rather loud music player.

He had considered playing their song but he figured that would be too obvious. Instead, he played another song through the intercom by the same band and preluded it with a robotic recording that simply stated the number "4" so as to address it directly to Madison.

The third day began much like the second day. Owen snuck out of his own house quite early in the morning with a bag full of decoratives. The second he arrived on the lot he made his way towards the mailbox, pulling out flowers from his bag. He then began to overload the outside of the mailbox with flowers, confetti and silly string.

When he was done with that, Owen left a cute little teddy bear holding a card with the number three on it in the inside of the mailbox.

Day two was about to commence. Owen snuck out of the house early that morning, before the sun rose, with a box in his hand. He had been preparing for this gift for a particularly long time, having planned it eons ago. He figured this would be something practical that she would like, and he hoped that she would see how important she meant to him.

He crept up to her front door and placed the box containing a motorcycle helmet with Madison's name engraved on it on the welcome mat. He had engraved it himself, and spent a long time making sure that it was engraved in the nicest way possible.

Owen got up bright and early that Friday as he prepared for his ten days of brilliant acts of romance. Or well, what he hoped would be. They weren't all that spazzy or large, but he hoped Madison enjoyed it anyway. If he was being honest, he'd say that he'd been waiting for the day where he could shower his beloved with gifts. In fact, if he was releasing his heart and soul to you, he'd tell you that he'd been planning something like this for a very long time.

Owen was a romantic at heart. There's really nothing else to say on that matter.

So bright and early that morning, way before school started, Owen crept into the halls of Mckinley. The lights were still off, the day barely started, and Owen stopped in front of Madison's locker.

He unlocked the door, and began to fill the entire locker with ring pops. He filled it to the brim, making sure that when Madison opened her locker, all the contents would spill out on the floor beneath her.

He smiled at himself. He really hoped she would like it.

Owen then proceeded to tape a very simple white piece of paper on her door.
