McKinley High - OOC

This deserves a post of it's own, so it doesn't get lost in the episode discussion: in the past, at the end of the season we do a soft reboot to allow players to bring their characters back in line with canon, if they so choose. This summer is going to be a little different from last: instead, the game will be going on summer hiatus as soon as we finish playing out the events of the season finale. ( Cut for spoilers from the S3 finale... )

Past experience from last summer shows that things usually get slow during the summer anyway, so hopefully the break will do everyone good -- I don't want to close the game outright, since we still don't know what S4 has in store, but if the format isn't conducive to a canon-based game, it'll be harder to recruit and retain members.

If there are any questions, however, let me know -- have fun playing out the finale, and here's hoping I'll see you all back in Season 4!

I'm going to start by apologizing for disappearing from the community/game/world for a bit. I'd emailed Stacey. Things in real life got unbearable for a little while. I'm back now and feel like that shouldn't be a problem again. But you never know what might happen. I'm back, though. And getting caught up on Glee, too. I am, as I type, watching the Whitney Houston episode. So I'm definitely behind a bit. I'm loving the Quinn action, but since I don't have anyone to play her new romance with, we'll forgo it.

However, PT is probably going very slowly. It's hard for her.

With the loss of Diego/Santana, I am going to take a few liberties. I am going to progress as though Quinn broke up with Diego. The situation with his family moved to quickly. She's not heartbroken... probably not at all. Furthermore, she did not live with Santana. With the accident, she stayed at home with her mom after, and that is where she continues to live.

I don't think this will have a big effect on too much. Although, there are new plotting ideas available. Catch me at Quinn's screenname (quinnfabrayFTW) on AIM to plot. Or post here. :)

I'll be back in full swing as soon as I'm caught up on the episodes I've missed in dealing with real life! Thanks for everything, guys.

It's that time of the month again!

A recap of how activity checks work: I'll be working with our current roster and checking for all in-character activity -- journal entries, threads, even comments -- so if you have done something in the last month, you should be okay. If I haven't seen any activity from a player in over a month, I will email out warnings to let those players know that their character is in jeopardy of being recast. If I do not hear back and see character activity within 3 days, the character in question will go back on the 'available' list, no questions asked, and be open for incoming players.

According to my trusty spreadsheet (which I fortunately ran before my laptop died completely), the following players meet our activity requirements, and are therefore safe:

If there are any questions, please let me know! I've got a completely reformatted laptop on my hands now, which means I'm slowly rebuilding contact lists and software installs, but I should be back to fully functional by the end of the week, :)

Sorry I've been gone all week, looks like I missed a lot of good stuff. I've been really sick the last few weeks. I have a few chronic medical conditions that haven't been very kind to me, and I've been having a hard enough time getting out of bed, let alone finding the mental capacity to write something. Please bear with me during this hiatus/slowatus.

I hereby tender my resignation.

Y'all, my laptop has decided to suddenly up and die on me, at possibly the worst time in the history of ever. I'm on limited net access through iPad, right now, which means I can check in, just not very quckly, and I'll probably be slow for tags. I'm getting it looked at tomorrow, but have no idea how long this is going to last -- I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but if anyone needs me, email is still the quickest, most reliable way to get ahold of me.

Fingers crossed it can be fixed!

SOOOOOOOOOO GUESS WHAT? My mom and dad are the best mom and dad ever!! I got a new laptop, so I can be around allllllllll the time!!! I seem to have the wrong Aim though, and I can't remember which one I had before... so I have Aim, but I still don't have the handy one I had where I was able to link my accounts and what not. BUT I can thread and stuff, so YAY. He's pretty and his name is Adrian Monk Jr., AJ for short, and he is bigger in size, AND hard drive than my other one, so WOOOOT.

Hey everyone! So through some convincing and my own need to let free my inner Mike Chang, I have decided to grace your presence with his fun and cuddly adorkableness. XP Hopefully I can meet in the happy middle between Will and Erik with him, but if I skew too much one way or another and it doesn't quite seem "Changsta" enough, let me know.

I need to work out his backstory some more so he may not be fully up for play until sometime this weekend. And I do know there will a lot of discussion for plots, catch up, canon events, deviations, etc so hit me up with ideas and thoughts. For Mike's AIM: cool_dancingxninja

Hey everyone! I'm Jamie and I'll be playing Tina! You can find my contact info on the contact page. Sometimes I'm hanging around on invisible so feel free to IM me anyway and I'll answer if I'm here. Both for plot or just to chat! Tina also has an aim name - tina.machina. I'm totally up for IMing IC. It's a lot of fun.

She's pretty much canon up until this point. I'll be adding in backstory that the show hasn't covered and whatnot, but nothing really deviating from the canon we have. If you have any questions, I'll try and answer you the best I can.

I also filled out the friending meme - here. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and get this RP ball rolling! I'm really excited to join this game!

We have a Tina! Jamie is joining us with Ms. Cohen-Chang (tina_machina), so everyone go update your friends lists here and say hi!

Also, when you update your friends lists, you'll notice a new NPC journal (mckinley_npc); I am still hammering out details and guidelines for how to use it (discussion is here and includes spoilers for this week's episode, if anyone would still like to weigh in!), but this week's guest star will be our test run for this journal. We'll see how it goes, and I'll be working on the specifics throughout the next week.

I've had a request/suggestion for the coming week: a game-wide NPC journal, for characters that aren't around enough to merit a full character, but would be awesome to have for just one week/episode. I know this has been a possibility in the past, for main characters' family members and such, but it's always been handled between players (Michaela, Claire), or expanded into a full character (Diego, Marianne). Is this something you guys would be interested in?

Thoughts, suggestions? This is just a rough idea of how such a thing could work, especially in terms of next week and a guest star who could potentially interact with everyone for just a very short time, but is there an interest in this for the rest of the season?
