[Turning on the communicator was the absolute last resort for the spectacular sorceress known country-wide as LINA INVERSE.

And it's quite apparent, when you look at the state of the room she woke up in. Luckily, no scorch-marks on the wall or burnt upholstery can be seen, but for what Lina lacked in firepower, she made up for in pure rage and destruction.

Lamps are broken. Tables thrown over. Pillows ripped of their stuffing and mattresses gnawed at with angry sorceress fangs. That little 'welcome basket'? Its contents are spread out everywhere around the room, as though the basket itself exploded. (Except for any snacks that were in there, Lina stopped mid-rampage to snack on those, thank you very much.)

Now, glaring into the feed, red-faced and heavily panting, is one. VERY pissed. Red-head.]

WHOEVER IS THE SMARTASS THAT DID THIS IS IN FOR A WHOOOOLE WORLD OF HURT ONCE I'M OUT OF HERE!!! YOU BETTER SHOW YOURSELVES PRONTO IF YOU WANT ANY MERCY!

Of course it was! I keeled over from the summoning and the next thing I knew she was refusing to leave! And trust me, trying to ditch her is way more trouble than it's worth. I must have wasted two weeks of my life trying.

[regaining a bit of his intellect, here. Appeal to her ego, you idiot.] It'll be much better having you there. If she steps out of line, you'll be there to take care of it. She won't stand a chance.

[Not that he wants that, but he also knows Saber enough to feel confident that there won't be any crossing of lines. She's made that perfectly clear.]

[Smirking at the cost thing. This, at least, is the Lina he knows.]

There's no money here, but maybe I can swing something. What do you want? [He is well aware he may live to regret asking like that, but beggars and choosers, etc. Having Lina forever annoyed at him was definitely worse than anything she could want. Probably.]

[The smile was a tiny victory. She knew she'd won--somehow--if she could get the guy to smile. It wasn't an easy feat, but it was a skill that Lina had mastered, among other things. Not that she was going to brag about it or anything.]

Hmn. [Lina's eyes searched up and down Zelgadis's person critically. It looks like he hadn't changed much, which meant he probably didn't really have much of anything he would exactly offer her that in any way, shape, or form amounted enough to compensate for the emotional damage (sob!) that vile woman caused.]

Let's just say you owe me. [It wouldn't be the first time.]

[His expression sours at the idea of owing her something nonspecific. She could call anything in at any time. But it's not like options are plentiful and -- he can't abide the idea of them just not getting along for such a dumb reason.]

Fine. I owe you. [He sighs, arms crossing.] I can take you there as soon as you're done eating. I have a kitchen there too, if you want to bring some leftovers to store.
