Welcome to the MarinaNova HMD! This is optional, but encouraged.

We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Hopefully you'll also be in the best position to clearly communicate your own concerns. Results will be more satisfactory for everyone if one person isn't on the offensive while the other is on the defensive.

Avoid leaving someone a wall of text. This can be intimidating even with the most careful of wording and best of intentions.

Don't gang up on someone. You may have a different way of wording something, but unless you have something new to contribute, consider letting it go if there are already others saying it.

Comments: Eric is a new character both to Marina and to me so if you've got any pointers, crit or other comments, I'd appreciate them. I find he's getting a long with a few more people than I expected so I want to make sure I'm maintaining that dickhead persona that he retains in the show. I don't have any particular concerns about him beyond that right now I think.

Comments: Buffy has been in the game a while so basically I just want to make sure she still sounds like herself. She's done a little bit of growing and settling down, but she should still sound and react like Buffy. No particular concerns but if you've got crit or suggestions please feel free to leave them.

Comments: Rogue is always the character I'm most insecure about because there are so many versions of her in the X-Men verse. She's a little meeker, more shy and younger than my other guys. She's been here a while though so I'm trying to let her grow a little, get more comfy with her power and come out of her shell a bit.

Your Buffy is the Buffiest of the Buffys. LOL I just thought of that line and thought I would share. But no, seriously. I love playing against your Buffy with any muse and I love the relationship that Buffy and Oz have developed here. Oz was always a part but set apart in the show and here Buffy and he have developed that friendship that I think we would have seen in the show had Oz stayed longer after he knew about the Scoobies. It makes me happy.

Rogue, ah Rogue. I love how you play her. I love the point you play her from. I just love Rogue. I have to tell you I really enjoyed Derek teaching her in the athletic complex. That was a great thread and I really enjoyed it. There should be more of that. And of course I always love playing Oz off of her. I would love to do more of that too.

	DANKE and ditto. I love Oz and Buffy's friendship here. More things definitely need to be done between ALL the characters. I also really like Derek and Rogue's little friendship they've developed. I'd like to handwave (and occasionally play out if there's a reason for it) that Derek and Rouge have little training sessions once a week or so. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

in all seriousness, i am incredibly blessed to have such a fantastic castmate - and twice over, to! i know i say this every time a hmd or a love meme of any kind comes up, but thank you for enabling me to this place. it's become my home game and i absolutely love it here, and that's in part thanks to your characters.

your buffy has always been one of my favorites. i admire how you strive to make her grow without losing sight of herself, something i feel you're doing so much better than the glimpses of expanded universe canon i've seen. her development seems so real and it's nice to see buffy handling things like an actual adult, yet still reacting very buffy-ish.

and eric is a big stupid jerk who needs to do us all a favor and go jump into a sea of liquid silver - which is totally a compliment, btw. he's a giant asshole, and that's so ic for him. you don't hold back with his dickish tendencies, and that's a trap i've seen other eric players over the years fall into, possibly out a desire not to create conflict or build up lots of negative cr. you don't seem afraid of either of those things, so major kudos for just flooring it with him when you've got the chance to. ALSO in not forgetting he's a viking: you're doing it oh so right. the fact that eric's old and has seen and done so much while never really shedding his roots is something i feel a lot of people forget about in favor of focusing on other aspects of his character. you're remembering it, while balancing it well with all this other traits. so really, bravo!

i haven't interacted with rogue as much as i'd like to, despite playing her facetwin. this is something we should remedy.

Thank you! Yeah I'm trying to make sure she's evolving and maturing and becoming an adult without losing her Buffy-ness. I'm really happy to see you think I'm doing it right. That means a lot.

/flails THANK YOU SO MUCH as a new character of course that's wonderful to hear. All of his layers and his vikingness are so much fun to play and if I'm very honest, the negative cr might be something I felt different about in any other game. In my experience, the players in Marina handle it really well and I'm comfy enough to act on it. It's fun to be an asshole when you know people know that it's the character and are accepting of it. Thank you thank you thank you

yes, this. so much this. i know exactly what you mean. i feel worlds of less apprehensive about having angel be a dick to people here when he's not feeling like catering to the masses, or when quinn's got on her bitchy shoes. it's nice to be able to play your character ic without people taking personal offense here. it's wonderful to be in a game where the player base at large seems to get that ic =/= ooc.

	Squeals, I am not so in the know about Buffy or Eric but Rogue. I am in love with her! I love seeing her with Logan too, ngl that's just the cutest shit ever. And I love all the threads with her and Peter and the hesitant dating and all the chaaaallenges and stuff. Idk how that even happened, but I just remember shipping it and now i can't stop. I have so much love for your characters and for you as a player! You're always so easy to work with and plot with and just nice and easy going and all the good things. I was thrilled to see an Eric in the game. He's so amazing, and I really enjoyed your intro post with him. I look forward to interacting with him more and stalking! Buffy is always wonderful and I really want to throw more of my characters at her because I think there is a lot of good that could come from it! She needs Kitty, Sam, and Xander time for sure. And Rogue! I really loved our last few Rogue and Kitty threads especially. I'd like to see more with them. I also want to throw someone else at her. I think She'd be cute with Yuuri of Euphie maybe. Or anyone. Basically I'm just over here making plans to monopolize you. Also, all the DF stuff. All of it. Rogue/Peter = amazing. I really need to stalk them more because I think that is an amazing combination happening right there.

no really i totally understand and sympathize about your worries with buffy. i've been having my own doubts with elena. (should have probably mentioned that in my own comment oops.) i think it's definitely noticeable how she's grown and settled - as someone who's watched buffy her entire life and grew up with it, i could tell. i wasn't around to witness a lot of her development, but she still feels and reads like her to a t. yours is one of the best i've seen and i love to tag her - but i'll definitely take eric too while he's loud and in charge. c:

you're such a friendly person and i have a lot of fun tagging you, so thank you for that. i love our cr and i can't wait to see where it goessssss. so much potentiallllll. i still want elena to stab eric in the back with a butter knife if at all possible ok.

Awww you make me all aflutter with that. Buffy is one of those characters that I love so much and really want to do justice to so that means a lot to me.

Let me tell you a little secret: I've never been very comfortable apping into big, established casts. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous about bringing Spike in (and especially from that canon point) but you've really just cleared any kind of doubts I ever had. It's so great to play him against your Buffy and try to work out the timeline shenanigans and how they should really relate to each other, despite the years apart. I feel like you already get where I'm going with him, and that's a great thing to have in a castmate!

I'd like for Buffy and Reid to talk again, by the way. I've always liked the way they clash without clashing.

As for Eric, I think that might've been one of my favorite threads the past month. He's not the easiest character to get right, but I do feel like you've hit that nordic reserved nobility in him while still keeping him as a complete dickhead. It's a lot of fun to see how he relates to Marina in general and other kinds of vampires, and I definitely look forward to seeing what you do with him in the months to come!

Rogue... oh Rogue. I want more with her. What can I say? She does sound a lot like I remember her from the movies and it will be great to see how she'll grow in the future!

Aww yay! I'm so glad you feel comfy with the way things are working out. Honestly, I don't know where you're wanting to go with him. I'm just trying to have Buffy respond to him the way she would. She loves him (not quite like that) or who he will become and she kind of wants to give him a chance to get there on his own. I'm really enjoying their CR so far. I like how things have progressed and the way there's that bit of awkward tension and everything there.

Oh yes! Definitely need to have Buffy tag into Reid again. He's a fantastic character and you do a great job with him. I really liked the one little scene we did with them awhile back.

That's actually pretty much where I'm aiming to go with him!

A big reason for picking the canon point I did was that he has so much growth ahead of him — he's riiiight there at the start of the journey that will make him into the man he is end-series and it'll be interesting to see if he can get anywhere near there on his own. It'll take a lot of time and work, and having Buffy around that knows who he becomes? That puts a great spin on things.

I have one thing to say and, babe, I just need more of you and your muses all around.

I enjoy how the first thread with Eric and Helix has gone, their snark war ended with them joking around and that's pretty great. I like that Eric is still kind of being a jerk to Helix, but the blue kid appreciates the humor and attitude so much it actually amuses him more than anything. I think it kind of fell more into a playful bullying and that doesn't happen often. They're both dicks and I think because of that they kind of get each other and commiserate and can almost poke fun at everything else and have their own little joke or language. At least, I hope that's how this may develop in the future. They can definitely both have a laugh at humans, because even in his world they are everywhere and kind of dumb at times.

I can clearly hear his voice too, so I definitely think you're doing a great job with him! I also think, because he's taken from late Season 4, after everything with Sookie and with losing himself, I think he does seem to be somewhat less of a dick by then. Granted, he's still Eric so he won't lose that coldness, but you have more leeway with him acting almost more human. So thus far, I think you've been balancing that out just right, at least from what I've seen.

Rogue and Helix, maybe Aidan too! Somehow or another they need to have a movie night again, or she can take him ice-skating or something random he's probably never done so they can laugh and have a good time. Definitely more hang out times. I haven't seen the movie in forever, and honestly I should see it again, but from what I recall she definitely seems like the Rogue I know. I just love the sweet way the two are to each other. Helix needs more almost!siblings in his life.

And Buffy, she's fun, as the Buffster is. I sadly haven't had Helix interact with her much, but if the blue kid doesn't jam with her again, maybe Sam will get to be friends! All in all, when I do read her posts or what not, I hear her voice pretty clear. So keep up the good work!

He's still a dick but he's a bit less of a dick (and Sookie has a lot of control over him at this point which helps a good deal). Eric is slowly learning to get in touch with his humanity, and that includes being nice to people. Eventually I'm going to canon update him to the end of S5 because he learned a LOT about being more 'human' in this season. ANYWAY I'll stop rambling but thank you yes.

I'm good with Buffy and Helix hanging but I def want her and Sam to be friends 'cause I think they could be awesome.
