I think that's why we are here. But I think I'll probably need more help than this can offer.

[His PTSD was not going to be solved in an hour or so. He already knew it couldn't. If it was that simple he wouldn't react as badly as he did]

Yeah. No, I get that. This kind of stuff isn't like magically fixed in one session or something.

Maybe... maybe if we trained against each other in the gym.

Hear me out. We'd have control over, so we can stop whenever you need to. But, if I could learn the changes in your fighting that you picked up to adapt to things, then it would be easier for me to defend against you and maybe even stop you if something like that happens again.

And I'll be less likely to get hurt because I'll be able to avoid your hits better if I know how to anticipate them.

[Shiro turned to look at him at the suggestion. Simultaneously, that was a good idea and a terrible one. Yes, it would be good if someone else were able to match him if need be, but he had already proven that he could hurt Keith and in order to be real, Keith had avoid his hand]

We would have to figure it out.

[Maybe some idea for what to do in that case was needed because they couldn't train like that wasn't an issue and he wasn't going to use it in practice]

I think we could do it. The main thing really, I think, is just me being able to avoid your right hand.

[Keith wasn't afraid to try, which may or may not be the smartest approach. But, he also wasn't thinking about this quite as deeply as Shiro was. They could easily start off without the weapon activated. Keith wasn't even thinking of going full out right from the start. The point was to build up to it. He knew Shiro preferred to do things that way, unlike himself. Keith would also go full out right off the bat if he felt he could.]

Practicing together is not the issue. It's, like you said, my hand. I'm not going to use it during practice because you're likely to get hurt.

[Working up to it was all well and good, but if he could still hit Keith was his right hand and have nothing happen, there was no incentive to avoid it. He could easily get accustomed to there being no consequence for getting hit when that hand had a serious consequence]

[Shiro won't unless he knows with greater than 90% certainty that Keith would be able to dodge any attack he makes with his hand. There's not really any protection against it since he can weld metal with his hand]

I appreciate the thought. Really I do. Sometimes, just being there is enough. Knowing that I'm not alone in the apartment on nights when I'm not able to sleep.

Not well. [He was usually awake at least once a night. How long he was awake was another question. He was also very easy to wake up] Seems to be a problem with it.

Time to separate from that would be helpful. It's still too recent. It's hard when its so close.
