Day 423 - Video - Open
[It had taken some playing around with this weird device thing on his head before Remy got it working, staring at the feed in silence for a while before figuring out if he had gotten it working or not, and pushing past his concerns if this was a good idea or not. He was in an unknown place that was most certainly not New Orleans, in a (ugh) tacky orange prisoner suit, with none of his weapons, his powers not working, and had been told a mass of information that hadn’t really gotten through his confusion and shock to really register. Was he really wanting to draw attention to himself?

And this was all on top of the fact that the last thing he remembered was screwing up a mission to save his father from a group of people trained to kill and there was a good chance he himself had been left for dead on the Assassin’s back yard…

He was not having a good day.]

So, [Before he paused, as if reconsidering if he should cut the feed and just explore by himself first. But he was already in this, may as well jump in with both feet.] This place really needs to up its game with welcome parties. No drinks waitin’, none of those little stringed flower necklaces, especially here, at a beach, it all just sloppy. How a homme supposed to feel welcomed?

[A moment later of silent thinking before Remy finally addressed one of the many serious questions on his mind.] ‘nd I be guessin’ that, whatever ‘nd wherever I be, that that little voice through this headset thing be right, we all prisoners here. That… kinda puts a dampener on the day.

Neither. More like... this number is no longer in service. Word on the street is, someone disappears around here? They got disconnected.

[Oh that was...] So... there's... no parole or end of sentence? [Also, what the hell did 'disconnected' mean? Where they in the Matrix or something?] We're just stuck here? [That was not what Remy wanted to hear. He had people back home who needed him there, home was a mess right now. He needed to get back.]

For life, or at least that's what they say. Makes it a bit gloomy for us immortals.

[ So, y'know. Could be worse. ]

[For life? That... that didn't register, not really. Then again a lot of things hadn't fully registered for Remy right now, from the multiple universes to the very fact he was in a prison. Despite what he had done back home, Remy never really had the fear of ending up in prison. Firstly because he was confident he would never be caught, and secondly due to the fact his family had money and could easily get him free between expensive lawyers and just being able to bribe the right people.

Also, wait, immortal? Jezebel had mentioned something about a vampire being around, and Remy wasn't one to automatically dismiss them as myth. He came from New Orleans, he knew about weird supernatural stuff. And... well, now Remy took a moment to really look at the vid feed and the guy talking to him, he did seem a little familiar...]
'mmortal, ya say?

Vampire. Used to be a whole bunch of us around here. [ And now it's just him which is lonelier than he ever expected. ] Familiar?

[Oh bon Dieu above, Remy did not want to deal with vampires.] Try not to be, generally. They tend to get a bit too friendly at times, 'nd I like m' blood where it be. 'nside of me. [Just to be clear.] Then again, could say that 'bout 'nyone who tryin' to make me bleed, not just the undead type.

[Also, who does he look like? With that hair, and those features... hmmm, give Remy time, it'll come to him.] 'll try to keep the garlic 'nd holy water jokes to a minimum. [Stop being a smart ass to the vampire, Remy.]

Real bloody generous of you, mate. [ How about now, with the accent out in full force. ] For the record, you have nothing to worry about. I'm out of the biting game.

[It seemed to do the job, as Remy's face slackened a moment as it broke through, those memories of old Buffy marathons and when the show had still be relevant and not just reruns.

Mon Dieu, that's Spike.

How had he not noticed it before? Ok, it had been a few years since Remy had taken time to watch the show, as good as it had been, and you couldn't just grab one of them now and then, you had to give it a proper watch through. That and the concept of media characters even being real what something that Remy would not even consider! But in the back of his mind it made sense with what Kitty had said, all these universes and all these possibilities. There was such a chance that some sort of media would be 'real' else where, but still it was a little surreal.]

Ahh, that real nice of ya, 'nd good to know. [Giving himself a mental shake out of his thoughts, Remy nodded along to what Spike had said. Though he now had to wonder about how his own world was seen by others.] Just take it with a curly straw now, hein?

[ Funnily enough, he hasn't been recognised as a fictional character yet but even if he'll find out about this, it doesn't seem like the biggest deal. Weirder things have happened and honestly, why wouldn't people want to make a movie about him, or something to that extent? He's fantastic. Dracula isn't the only one who can make a career out of this. ]

Eh, I used to do that before too. Switch it up a bit. [ Just going to let you think on that one. ]

...The thing be now, is I got this mental image of havin' a straw pressed against some fille's neck. [He means, it was kind of the trope, male vampire and female victim, but who is he to call out Spike's choice of drinking fountains?]

That's exactly it. [ He likes teenage girls, what can he say? They're yummy. Literally. ]

[Ok, that was funny, funnier now it was confirmed, Remy letting out a chuckle at Spike's answer.] Can't say ever saw that in 'ny movies, though suppose it takes elements of the 'thriller' or 'horror' out of it. Would ruin the gloomy and dark feel they try 'nd give.

Oh, don't get me started on bloody vampire fiction. Dracula did us a right disservice.

Will take ya word on that. [Didn't Dracula show up in the show? Remy had a vague memory that he did, of course in which Buffy kicked his ass. Which was great, really great. Honestly, if Remy hadn't had his own deadly, stunnin' blonde of a girlfriend at the time he really would had had a thing for Buffy.

Ok, maybe he still had, but he doubted anyone would blame him, even Spike.]
Since, ya know, haven't ran 'nto him m'self or 'nything.

I have. He's not as great as he makes himself out to be. [ He snorts - there may be some lingering rivalry here. ] Owes me eleven quid, he does. Bloody wanker.
