[There's a pause in the banter for the first time, like for once in this conversation he's not entirely sure what to say. It's one thing to have the Warden's make an embarrassingly public announcement about it all and another thing entirely to have to actually explain it all to someone who missed all that. It may be the first time he'll have to elaborate on it all but he doubts it will be the last so he may as well get used to it. He realizes how long he's been quiet and stumbles over his own feet trying to suddenly focus on dancing and the conversation again.] I'd be flattered but say my love life is complicated enough as it is just now. I'm actually rather involved with two people at the moment.

It's a long story. Or maybe not that long, really. [He's blushing bright red by this point. He can't help but be grateful Kirk has decided not to make this any more awkward for him than it is. He doubts Jack has any problem telling anyone who will listen and Spike hardly talks to anyone so it's not likely to come up in conversations but for himself he doubts he'll ever feel entirely comfortable discussing it. Then again he's never liked sharing much of his personal life no matter the details.]

There's always other fish in the sea. Or under it, in our case. Maybe you'll get lucky elsewhere.

Besides, Ianto seemed like a nice man - he instantly liked him more or less. He could do with friends here outside of Chekov, and his instincts told him Ianto would be a good choice. ]}
