The story finished, Martha went to find a simple tea with honey. Something to soothe her throat so she could keep going all day. She smiled up at the Doctor.

"I think the only other time I saw you in black was when you wore that tuxedo."

"Well, he is Jack. It's rather hard to say now to him. Especially if a whiff of his special 24th century pheromones hit you. I just always thought you were immune," she replied cheekily.

Then he turned the conversation back on her. "Did you manage to catch any of my stories today? I spent most of my day telling stories on the stage. Ghost stories, in keeping with the theme of the party."

	Well that certainly made sense, but if pressed for an answer, he did have fun and enjoyed it. But only if she asked. "Brilliant! You were always quite the storyteller." He positively beamed at her response, "I'm sure you had the audience. I'm sorry I didn't make it." He had been roaming about, not staying in any place particularly long. "And did you enjoy yourself?" she asked as she elbowed him in the ribs. Mostly she was having fun with him. Martha missed him after all. It'd been so long since they last saw each other.

Her smile turns more self-conscious when he turns the talk back to her.

"Thanks. There has been quite an audience so far. And I haven't really had practice telling stories like this. Most of my stories are my own... our own experiences. This is a slightly different skill, but a fun one nevertheless. And it turns out I've a talent for it!"

"I'm sorry!" It almost comes off as dishonest, but it wasn't. He had been hoping with everyone distracted he could explore the prison better. Instead he found himself mingling with everyone and enjoying the sights.

"Is there something I can offer you to make it up to you?" He eyed what was around them, wondering if there was a game or nibble she was interested in.

He isn't certain why he's suddenly so shy, but then mulls over the idea. A grin slowly forms on his face and he eventually enthusiastically nods.

"Ok, I think -- I know I can offer a few good stories." He had let Martha down far too often and now wasn't the time to do it again to her. Besides, he needed something to bring him a sense of purpose rather than stew in his own thoughts and drive himself crazy.
