Alas for the young wife! The superstitious fear at which she had smiled had proved true: the curse that had bided its time for ages was fulfilled at last, and her own hand wrecked her happiness for ever. Death in life was her doom, and for years Forsyth secluded himself to tend with pathetic devotion the pale ghost, who never, by word or look, could thank him for the love that outlived even such a fate as this.

[Martha let the words hang a moment before bowing her head and accepting the scattered applause. As the crowd dispersed, she hopped off the stage and caught up to Ianto, tapping him on the shoulder.]

What'd you think?

Not enough death and doom. [A light smile to make it clear he's joking. She did a good job.]

[Martha laughed.] And going brain dead as a flower sucks the life from you isn't bad enough!

Still, the ghost stories I researched for this really were fascinating.

Really? Which ones were the most interesting?

Well, the Louisa May Alcott one that I just finished with was really fun. I had no idea she wrote a ghost story. Or mummy story as the case may be. And there was one by Elizabeth Gaskell that was also sufficiently creepy.

Mostly though, I'm just glad storytelling was an option. Much more fun that some of the other ways we could volunteer for the festival.

Agreed. [He and Jack helped decorate so he knows why she's collecting points.] Did you get enough rehabilitation points from it?

I'm not sure. The AI wouldn't give me a proper number. Just told me that when I had enough, it'll work. I suppose I should just make a point to bother them regularly.
