Who knows? Maybe they've got a few words of wisdom on how to deal with our Wardens.

[ John goes a bit further into the graveyard before unceremoniously dropping the bag on a headstone. Not like he cares. Cheers, mate. ]

You may not want to hang around. It could get a bit dicey. Depending on how this goes. [ He really hasn't tested his magic powers yet. ]

[ Kirk crossed his arms, leaning against a nearby tomb stone (he had no pockets, those pants were far to tight). ]

I wonder if you can summon souls, when it's not like we're actually dead in here. According to my friend, this is just a digital world, a projection. Our real bodies are elsewhere. That would make this graveyard symbolic rather than literal.

Oh, I can summon more than the dead, mate. Demons, angels, probably some other nasty stuff in between. If they can show up to the bottom of the ocean is something else entirely.

[ He then takes off his trench coat and rubs his hands together. ] Say it is a virtual world. What happens to the mind and soul when you die if you're separated from your body? Sorry to prove all those fancy things wrong, but, you don't really stop existing when the heart stops beating.

At the bottom of the ocean inside of a computer program, so I suppose anything goes, right? Just a bunch of 1s and 0s.

I can't tell if that's comforting or not. Did you mean it to be comforting?

You sound like my mate Ritchie. Too bad he didn't show up. [ Except it's probably a good thing he didn't. Ritchie would just be yelling "John your life choices" or something like that. ]

I meant it more to be groundbreaking world shattering moment of enlightenment. Guess it didn't work out.

I'll take that as a compliment.

I'd really have to believe in God, the Devil, or an afterlife for that to be groundbreaking. But it's comforting in an odd way. Means there's one more adventure out there for me.

You could. Except he's one of those... as you Americans say "far out" sort of blokes.

[ That was him faking an American accent. ] Not a big believer in the big bads, are we? They sure of Hell believe in any special destiny you might have. Souls are always the currency of big supernatural gambles.

[ It's horrible, John. ]

Well, if they do exist, I'll worry about that when I really die. For now, they aren't my concern.

So - you going to summon something or what?

[ He's a master of the dark arts not imitations. ]

Suppose you could worry about it then. You just might want to worry about the people you ah, deal with, until then. [ Namely him.

He finishes setting up his little ritual space. Sleeves roll up, he rubs his hands together. There is a side glance towards Kirk. Knowing his luck? This is going to go pear shaped and he'll look like a total ass.

Bigger one than he normally is, anyways. ]

You might want to step back, mate.

You mean like people who want to unleash super-weapons on the universe?

[ Yeah, been there, done that John.

Kirk raises a brow, but does take a step back and crosses his arms to watch the other. He is at least respectful enough to be quiet as John works, curious as to what could possibly happen. ]

They would be some people on the top of the list. Not that I've dealt with super-weapons. Just spells that could send thousands to Hell.

[ Cocky. He likes that in a bloke.

John isn't sure this will work at all. It's a gamble. A test to see what this prison really has held him back from doing. He picks up some dirt and salt and mixes them together. After a few words in some most likely dead language, he drops the dirt-salt on the candles. His palms go up and he waits a few moments. ]

Oh, come on, you bloody damn ghosts. Don't be shy. We're all screwed here in this miserable prison together.

[ ...after a few more seconds, and the ghostly image of an inmate - former one - shows up. ]

Now we're talking. Well, hopefully. [ John sends a glance at Kirk with a grin. ] My name is John Constantine, and this handsome smug bastard is James Kirk. Hopefully we didn't trouble you out of a potential restful endless sleep.

A weapon that consumes worlds.

[ His voice is soft, not quite dead, but sad too. It's not a joke. He watched a world die, and nearly saw his own world die too.

He goes quiet, watching John, curious to see what will happen. If what Chekov said was true, this was world was a digital one, but did that discount the idea of ghosts or spirits? Maybe they could exist here, pockets of remnant data. Would those be considered ghosts? The 1s and 0s not swept away?

When something does appear, he is surprised and unsure what to make of it, but not scared.

He rolls his eyes at the introduction and raised his hand to the spectre in greeting. ]

Sounds spiffy.

[ John notes the tone but figures it is best not to ask. Given the fact he doesn't like people rummaging in his past? Yeah, because Kirk is probably the kind to want some information in return for what he's ask for.

He slides his hands into his pockets as he looks the ghost over. Something seems a bit... off. The spell seems to have worked, but usually the ghosts are a bit more, well, lively. Wouldn't you be a bit worked up if you got pulled from the great beyond to talk to a deadbeat magician? ]

Kirk. You're good with people, mate. Ask a question for us.

[ That was assuming, John, that this had come from the great gray beyond. Could computers have beyonds? Did their programmers or whatever was that controlled this place even think about a place to send the unwanted data? Or was this a stunt being done for the feeling of the party?

He blinked when John called him out, pushing off the tombstone and walking forward. ]

Do you have a name? Or do you remember it? It seems strange to have a conversation and not know someone's name, after all.

[ He gave a little smile to the "ghost" in encouragement.

[ Which is precisely why he's bothered to spend a spooky Halloween-like celebration trying to summon things from the great beyond. That and he needs to know what he can and can't do magic wise. Not that he won't try and find a way to con himself into good graces with the wardens eventually.

The "ghost" on the other hand simply opens their mouth and lets out a scream. Except it sounds off--not quite human like. John covers his ears and winces, opening one eye. ]

Oh, of course. Speaking English would be too bloody useful!

[ Is John ever in anyone's good graces? Well, he's in Kirk's, but that's because he likes flirting with John.

Kirk winces and claps his hands to his ears, his head feeling like it was vibrating, as if the sound somehow reached into the atoms and made them shake. ]

Damn it, dismiss it or something!
