Hey, can you meet me at Defense Force headquarters?

[Kitty has been keeping to herself since the shared dreaming. That still ended in a surprising amount of running into people, but today she's falling into her regular routine again—exercising which can become sparring if someone has a mind to join her, looking into things at Defense Force headquarters, planning some lessons for the technology classes she teaches which she'll go head and take care of in the library, some meaningful shopping of essentials and some idle shopping of random stuff because sometimes you need a baseball cap with an octopus on it? And of course, she's got to eat!]

You can talk to and meet anyone you want to, Suzaku. I'm not about to tell you that you can't. I'm the last person who should be doing that. [After Tyki. Once upon a time she was sitting on the other side here admitting to Suzaku that she was sleeping with someone on the watchlist. And he... He was concerned about her. He still wanted her on the team. Still trusted her. It meant a lot to her. And it was a terrible mistake, but it was hers to make and she appreciated that freedom too. There's already too little freedom here.]

But I don't want you putting yourself at risk because you think that's what we demand of you or doing so without communication. Teams are here to support each other and have each other's backs. To be greater than the sum of our parts. But I also don't want to assume that's what you were doing [she just takes to speeches so well.] so, why don't you tell me about it?

It is not anything that you have demanded of me. [ It is way more about what he feels he owes people, but that's... he's not up to admitting that part. Yet. ]

The entire idea was to learn as much as possible about him - the original request sounded a lot like what I first asked when I arrived, after all. Then it became clear that he was more likely to be a danger than an asset, which brought up the question how much of a danger. And as he is highly unlikely to kill me - which Lelouch is perfectly aware of - and obviously even if I was wrong about that, it would have been valuable to learn, as well - I judged it best to see what he is like alone.

Because a person is far more likely to reveal themselves when not fully aware that they are being tested.

... less enhanced and more pushed to the limit, I believe, but... both.

[ He'd be relieved that she understood that last part without him having to explicitly say it, if he would allow himself relief. She has to know - has to - by now that protecting people really matters to him.

For him to live while others die because of it - it's not easy to plunge into, less so twice in three or four days. ]

Yeah, that's kind of hard to know until...you know. [Like Jack. She saw his first death compliments of the wardens. And now he's back and unsure if he's still immortal. Hard thing to test. Especially here when everyone is to an extent.]

If you're immortal or if you die? They both do in different ways. [She did care about the previous Suzaku and some of that is ready for the taking for this one. So if he had something life altering like eternal life of course she'd care, and yes, it would probably affect some of her decisions regarding him in the field. But just because someone can come back from the dead doesn't mean she's okay with them dying.]
