He's...a good kid, but really troubled. We told him that Reid and I are dating again. Oh. [She doesn't know how to feel about that. Except the wardens are helping her out on this one and reminding her she should just feel afraid.] Jack, that could be more dangerous than you think. [She also doesn't know how Reid would feel about it. And not only is she afraid of what he might think, she's afraid of being afraid of it because why should all her considerations run back to him?]

[There go those eyebrows again, along with a wry twist of his mouth.] Hurting pretty young girls? Yeah, he did. And I'd say that losing himself is more likely if he doesn't get someone to really talk to about these urges.

[Is he taking advantage of her newly uncertain state to ride roughshod over her opinions? A little bit, yeah.]

In my experience, trying to suppress urges that strong usually results in an explosion sooner or later. I think he needs to try and find a controlled way of letting them out.

I know what BDSM is. [Even if she's never actually tried it. She and Tyki played rough sometimes, but it wasn't really the same thing.] And no. [The no comes out stronger than intended because the idea of Jack and Nathan is just, well, NO! There are just some things you don't share with your prison son, okay?]

I mean... He's dating Euphie. They have blue bands together. I don't think they've fully used them.

Yeah, I gathered that. Hopefully she'll be good for him. She's a sweet girl. [A smile for Euphie. He doesn't think he's ever known anyone sweeter.] The band system does complicate things, though. Even if he did want to try some S&M and found someone interested enough, he couldn't do it without a band of some kind.

[He shakes his head.] It was just an idea, anyway. About the only one I've got!

I don't really know her. [She is well aware of her connections to Lelouch and Suzaku. She also knows about the occasional hate on she gets for the Japanese, but personally they've never really interacted which feels like an oversight now ~~that can't be corrected~~.]

The band system is awful. [Which has more to do with the thought that even if she and Reid find a moment where it all feels right they'll have to stop and reset their bands now that they've been cancelled.]

I wish I knew what would really help him. Maybe it is that. I just worry he'd feel guilty and want to hurt himself if he tried it.

No, I hadn't really talked to her properly until recently. [And yes, he's aware of the occasional thing about Japanese people, but it's been long enough since the last outburst that he's mostly forgotten about that.]

And yeah, that's pretty much what he thought about it. If we were back home, there'd be people I could take him to, who could maybe help him through it, help him approach it the right way, but here, we're stuck with what we've got and it might not be enough.

[He sighs.] I don't know. Anyway, I've been meaning to bring it up, that we talked, you know? If there's ever any time when you think him talking to me could help, let me know.

Well, she complimented me on my tights, and in my choice in boyfriends. Seems like she's got a bit of a thing for Ianto. We drank lingonberry juice together, and she tried to convince me that at least some of the strange goings-on here really genuine technical glitches. But she also admitted that some of them are just them having fun. [He grins.] She seemed genuinely delighted by the memory of rubber duck rain!

She tried to convince me the 'dimensional stabiliser' glitches really were accidental. I think that came from the fact that Ianto was worried they 'lost' me because he kissed Spike, and he asked her about it. She was very emphatic that they have a very delicate thing running here and glitches happen! I made it clear I didn't believe it, though.

You know, it's weird, up to that point, I was almost enjoying it, enjoying the baiting, the back and forth. Until she reminded me that they hold absolutely all the power. We really are very nearly helpless here.
