[ At some point, Rean finds himself at the beach and he is considerably surprised by the view. Knowing what he knows about the place (which is little but enough to know that they're underwater), he wonders how it's possible. For a (very) short while, that wonder consumes him. And the feelings of worthlessness and guilt worms it way to the forefront of his mind again and Rean is lost, wandering the beach thoughtfully.

He can't be here.

That's when he spots Kazuki and he can't help but be thankful he isn't alone anymore. He walks up to him... ]

[That sense of wonder is far from being exclusive. Time and again does Kazuki try and question their surroundings. To him, there is nothing strange about being beneath the water. The vast majority of ALVIS is deep below, just as all the Fafners are, and the Bahnzweck which acts as a transport. Granted, it isn't identical on Watatsumi Island (even after two years there still is a great deal of work to be done as a whole), but it isn't completely different, either.

With all of that, there have been a few times where he also questioned Marina's construct. It wouldn't be too far off to say that it could be on the world Kazuki calls home. Then again, something of this magnitude and detail - even with the whole virtual aspect - couldn't have possibly gone undetected.

All of these are thoughts which have played through his mind, though especially today for some reason. Maybe it's why he ended up on the beach without paying any attention, otherwise, to where he was going.

The question snaps him out of it, and he glances over to the other.]

	It's all virtual reality. Our physical bodies are encased in pods. I'm unsure of the exact specifics as to how our surroundings are so flawlessly created, or why we still do things like eat and sleep, only that that's just how it is. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

It's far too unsettling and frustrating. I have so many questions that even those who have been here the longest don't have the answer to. Yet there's also a lot that has me curious, and wanting to try all that's offered to us inmates. We're allowed to do a great deal for being prisoners. Sometimes I forget that we're being given a false sense of security. But. . .There's foods here that I've never had before, and new things to learn and experience. There are interesting people and other worlds to hear about.

[he falls silent for a few moments] Plus my best friend from home is here as well. We arrived on the same day. I. . . Back home, it had been a long while since I last saw him. [More like he never thought he'd ever see Soushi again. That young boy may be Soushi 'reborn,' but they will never be the same person.] So I'm grateful and enjoying that we can spend time together again, even though I shouldn't feel such a thing.
