It's far too unsettling and frustrating. I have so many questions that even those who have been here the longest don't have the answer to. Yet there's also a lot that has me curious, and wanting to try all that's offered to us inmates. We're allowed to do a great deal for being prisoners. Sometimes I forget that we're being given a false sense of security. But. . .There's foods here that I've never had before, and new things to learn and experience. There are interesting people and other worlds to hear about.
[he falls silent for a few moments] Plus my best friend from home is here as well. We arrived on the same day. I. . . Back home, it had been a long while since I last saw him. [More like he never thought he'd ever see Soushi again. That young boy may be Soushi 'reborn,' but they will never be the same person.] So I'm grateful and enjoying that we can spend time together again, even though I shouldn't feel such a thing.
