[They are nestled into the booth they normally favored when they spent a lot of time sharing meals. The food has already been served and she's pulling another eggroll onto her plate and smiling at her dinner partner. Originally, this meal was a cute suggestion left on a belated birthday gift that signaled things were getting better between them. Now, after their kiss at yesterday's dance it feels like it might actually be a date.]

If I start talking about maps and charts you'll get so distracted you won't even notice me stealing extra eggrolls, right? Something something, percentages, something something, statistics.

Do I? Want to be with you? Yes. Very much. [Too much to hope that's what he's asking when she already said as much a couple of times at this dinner?] That's all that matters, right?

[She doesn't want to think about whether or not she could have feelings for Pavel. She cares about him a lot. She liked kissing him. But she's here on a date with Reid. They have another chance and she doesn't want to lose that.]

[She stretches a hand out across the table wanting to rest hers on his.] Does that mean I should have danced with Jack instead of turning him down last night? [Not that dancing is talking. But, yeah, Jack might have some bad feelings toward you now. Sorry. Not her intention. She didn't turn Chekov down though. She really had no intention to stop talking to him, but she's glad to hear Reid say this because anything else would have been an impossible situation.]

You can dance with him. It's not something I enjoy but that's my problem to solve. Besides, he's got Ianto. It's not like there's anything actually going on... right?

I told you what happened the day they made us think we were related or attached to different people, right? If I'm really honest there are still some complicated feelings there, but just as honest? When I got my full memories back you were my first thought. Not because I was afraid you would be jealous. [Hell, at that point in their relationship or lack there of she might have hoped for it. Just any sign of interest from him.] Just because you were the one I was missing being with. [When she went back to being alone.]

[ Oh Kitty... he gives her hand a little squeeze and this is such a weird conversation to have because he knows that he can be irrationally jealous sometimes but even more so this place throws them into unexpected situations at the drop of a hat. They wouldn't have gotten together as quickly as they did if it weren't for unexpected situations. ]

This place is... weird, and hard and it messes with our heads. I think we need to... we need to remember that. I've done things here I don't think I ever would've thought to do back home, both good and bad and- and maybe I don't have a right to say this but I'm not so sure getting bogged down in the past is the way to go.

What I'm saying is... it's okay. I want to try and be less... stressed. About everything. We're here and we're alive and that's really the only important thing.

[She squeezes his hand, so so so relieved and grateful this is something he is being understanding about and wanting to work through instead of pulling away from what could be drama.] We are—alive and here. [And together.] It's all easier said than done, but it's a great plan. 5 stars. [She understands that it is hard to leave the past in the past. It shapes who you are. Whether that's her parents' death or a kiss that was never supposed to happen it can be a challenge. She knows it's something they both need to work on sometimes.] I want to move forward. [Keep walking like Allen told her. Maybe that future thing will open up again and even if there's a set back that doesn't mean it slams shut because one opportunity did.]

[ He knows he's just as good at providing the drama as she is and maybe he could do a better job at not pulling receipts and holding grudges. So much has happened, here and home and he's tired. Losing Maeve is still tender, like a bruise that won't really heal, but he can deal with a little pain if he also gets a little happiness. Talking to Kitty again, remembering how fun and great she is when their lives aren't a goddamn mess, that's made him rethink his approach here. Who knows how much time they have? ]

I want that too. I want to try at least and maybe it won't be easy but we'll get somewhere, right?

There was a time when the phasing was a rough spot between them like a lot of other things and while she could understand the aversion after Tyki, it still hurt. Nothing about this hurts though.
