	While Martha doesn't particularly want people to see any of the slips with her name on them, there are two specific ones she doesn't want two specific people to see. Unlike her, Jack has found no secrets of his own that he need be ashamed of - well, not about her, anyway. So he regards her with barely concealed amusement, which becomes a full-on smirk when he notices the hands held behind her back and takes a wild stab at what she's trying to hide.

"Matha," he croons, and manages to put a whole heap of innuendo in that single word. His eyes twinkle down at her. "A little birdy told me you seem to have been holding out on me!"

Not that she's really had a lot of choice, the rules here being as strict as they are...

She can't be any more embarrassed than he is by the Spike thing. But he's not going to bring that up unless she does.

He does a mock-regretful face. "I'm afraid your name was actually on one of the threesome ones I got in a cookie," he advises her. "If he sees one like that, he'll definitely figure it out!"

He sobers, stepping closer, laying a hand on her arm. "Actually, I was more concerned by one of the others I saw your name on. I'm sorry I've been leaning so hard on you since the Tyki thing. I know it's been hard on you too."

That's not going to stop him being worried about her. She's part of his team - he feels responsible for her - and he can't help feeling she feels responsible for far too many other people.

Still, he'll let it go for now. "Not great," he says, his own lips tightening. "It's going to take a long time for him to get over, I think, and taking out Tyki is only going to be a part of that. Still, he's got out of the house today, which is good."

Even if it means that Jack himself is rather antsy, constantly looking over his shoulder as if to check Ianto's okay, even though he's nowhere near them at the moment.

	She looked over to where Ianto stood, observing quietly. It was times like these Martha wished Deanna were still here. The counselor would be more helpful than any of the current doctors here could be. "Let me know if you two need anything? I'm always happy to stop by," she replies. Yeah, Jack would have given a lot to have Deanna still here, too. He can't help feeling that, his own experiences of death and resurrection notwithstanding, he hasn't really got a lot to offer Ianto in that respect.

"I think, yeah, stopping by every now and again would be good," he nods. "He does have a tendency to just sit and brood over things. I've been trying to distract him as much as possible, but..."

	He shakes his head. "You did plenty for me the other day, when I really needed it," he says warmly. Because he really does appreciate her and he knows he doesn't always show that. He leans down to drop a light kiss on the top of her head. "Thank you." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He can feel the need in the tension of her arms as they go round him, and he hangs on rather longer than he'd intended, trying to transmit some of his own warmth and strength because he knows she needs it too. Even without reading secrets that tell him as much. "Damn right you will," he says warmly, and lets her go to go and chase down Ianto and make sure he's okay. (Reply to this) (Parent)
