Hey. [Clearing his throat a little. He doesn't speak to everyone at once like this very often. But he's been working with Deanna to track this thing and now she's gone and he just needs to get the information out there even if he doesn't have all the details.] We have a situation. I've been talking to people and keeping an eye out and some of us are or have been affected by the pearls that were brought in from sector 6. [You know, by the green girl.]

I'm not sure exactly how they work, but they're amplifying or creating feelings in people. It could be anger or nothingness. [Those were a couple he was pretty certain about from Jack, Mal, and Korra.] But it could be more than that. It could be any emotion. [As far as he knows.]

If you have a pearl you need to get rid of it. [Driving this point home.]

If someone you know has a pearl don't touch it. It could transfer over to you. Just get them to...[yes, what? Put it in the trash] maybe just take them back to Sector 6 or call me and we'll talk about it. just don't keep it.

	From what we can tell the effects can be transferred to anyone in close proximity. [At least that's what Martha's story about feeling rage being near Jack seemed to indicate.] [Does he really have to explain the other part?] And it's bad to have fake, extreme emotions. Whether I have one or people I know do don't matter. The point is that you're not giving any reason why people should give 'em back. You're saying shit about it being bad to have fake emotions, but you ain't sayin' why it's bad, just that you think it might be. When I was a cop I went into it knowing that I might die, but I still did it. And I didn't die, at least not this far. Maybe don't mean shit.

	Maybe some people are masochistic dickwads who like feelin' sadness and rage to feel alive. Maybe they're artists and it helps them create masterpieces. Maybe some people like the impulsive pearl 'cause it makes them unafraid to do stuff they wouldn't usually do. Maybe some people like the happiness pearl 'cause they'd never feel it otherwise. I never mentioned an impulsive pearl. [Because he hasn't found anything to support that in what he's researched so far and it isn't as much an "emotion" as the other ones he's zeroed in on. His eyes narrow.] Is that what you think you have?

Maybe it's getting in the way of you making good choices. [Because he has no idea why he is having to defend why fake emotions you never asked for are bad.]

No one was warned that these do anything except look pretty and we're just starting to figure out which emotions they're tampering with. Everyone I know who has gotten rid of theirs is glad they did.

So what makes you think someone knew exactly what they were getting into so they could use it for their art?

Well, now they know. And in case you didn't notice I never said I was coming around to pry them out of people's hands. Just letting people make informed decisions and giving my suggestions. [He may very well go around prying them out of people's hands. This was just the first step. His hope was that people would do it willingly.
