Day 296 — Real MarinaNova — Central Core Awakening
[The last thing you remember is walking through a glowing door. Whether that was a good decision or a bad one is going to depend heavily on how claustrophobic you are, because right now you are fully encased in a very streamlined, sophisticated pod. It is regulating your body temperature, monitoring your vital signs, administering nutrition and dozens of other odds and ends to keep your body functional and healthy during its stay.

You're not usually conscious for this part of things. If you were, it would be a pretty boring experience. On the plus side, there aren't any tubes or wires attached to you. Those are a little too outdated for technology like this. The other plus is that you can open your pod hatch with a push. Luckily for you, those muscles in your arms and legs haven't atrophied. That's part of the science, but it's not perfect. There will be some aching and discomfort.

Take a minute to take stock of everything. You're wearing a bodysuit you don't remember putting on. You're in a giant, spiraling room you've never set eyes on before and your powers—if you have any—are blocked. But you're not alone. There are other people pushing their own pods open or lying still and silent in theirs. In fact there is a very large number of pods. You might not recognize everyone, but that doesn't mean they weren't an inmate at one time—they were even if it was brief.

For the moment there are no bots coming for you, no alarms going off that you can hear, and no immediate threats. The space is vast and the doors aren't locked, but you also might not recognize them as doors or understand how to activate them just yet.]

[Piper was already feeling a little roughed up after locating Phoebe. They hadn't been very far apart, which had sort of been a blessing. But now Piper was trying to figure out what was going on. It was the noise of someone crying that drew her out of her thoughts and back into the moment. She had wandered into another area.

There were so many pods.

She came around a cluster of them and found a familiar shape, hunched over a body inside an open pod.]

Deanna?

[ it's the familiar voice that snaps deanna out of her thoughts. by the time piper made it over, she's quieted. her black eyes are rimmed with red and her cheeks are flushed and stained with tears when she lifts her head to see the only person who might understand just how hard this is for her. ]

Piper...

[ but what can she say? how can she even put to words how difficult this is, how she feels seeing her husband here. she blinks, returning her gaze to will's face. her hand smooths back his hair, as though this small gesture will bring him back to her. ]

This is my husband.

[She watched, waiting for Deanna to finish, but it didn't take much to get the point across, certainly. He brow furrowed as her mind's eye immediately replaced Will with Leo, searching for just long enough to figure out what that would mean, what it would feel like, and that was all she needed.]

Oh... I'm so sorry...

[Her voice was soft and breathy was emotion as she stepped forward and crouched down next to the other woman.]

[ deanna will take all the comfort and sympathy she can get right now. she's completely broken over it. perhaps she shouldn't be, but she is. seeing him like this, seeing all of the starfleet officers like this... it's just a little too much for someone who has missed them all so much. ]

Martha said he's still alive. I would imagine all of them are.

[ but that doesn't make it much easier to bear. ]

I think so. [She look at him.] I found my sister. She was breathing, like she was just... sleeping. But I couldn't wake her up. [She looked down at her hands. Useless. Not that her particular powers would have helped, but still... she couldn't do anything about this.] But, no... I don't think they're dead.

[And it wasn't easier. Piper wasn't sure what was worse. They were both hard in their own ways.]

	Definitely. I came through on my own, so I don't know who else is here. Was it just the two of you together or did anyone else come through the same door? [Piper was curious.
