DAY 265 ✯ OPEN VOICE.
I would advise against interacting with the Polygeminus grex that have infiltrated the prison population. They are non-sentient lifeforms from a relatively uninhabited planet in the Beta Quadrant. On their homeworld, their numbers are controlled by a number of natural predatory species they are the primary food source for, but without their being prey, their numbers will expand. Polygeminus grex reproduces asexually; they are born pregnant and can bear an average litter of ten every twelve hours. If they are allowed to persist with uncontrolled breeding patterns, then we will likely have a population well into the thousands by the end of the day — millions by the end of the week.

Seeing as the wardens do not appear to be taking the proper measures needed to control the Polygeminus rex population, risking punishment in an effort to do so ourselves is preferable to not doing anything at all.

[Some of it is just an aversion to killing in general, but her blades had plenty of raptor blood on them not so long ago, so maybe it is the mammal thing. Then again the raptors were also all too happy to attack them.]

The wardens made this mess. Just because they haven't announced a plan to clean it up again doesn't mean there isn't one. We aren't at a point where that's necessary. [Yet.]

I do not trust the wardens, nor do I rely on them to 'come through' at the last viable second.

Well, I don't exactly trust the wardens. I think this is probably some big game of entrapment so we kill their new pets and tomorrow when it's not a problem anymore they can hand out punishments to everyone who participated.

I am willing to endure their punishments if it means our ensuring survival.
