[video/action] 253 - & devil's compass mingle
[The Devil's Compass is no longer littered with candles, save perhaps a few on the bar that add a little something to the dim lighting that recreates the old-world style of tavern the place is modeled after. It's actually quite clean otherwise, with Tyki lounging in one of the booths with a bent knee up on the seat and the camera looking at him sitting there with a cigarette drooping out of the corner of his mouth.]

If you haven't been to the Devil's Compass yet for the drink or my company, I'll give you two further incentives.

[Sidelong he reaches to crush out the cigarette, a plume of smoke coiling upward.]

One, there's fresh pie thanks to the lovely Charlotte.

[His eyes flick up to the camera with a dangerous glint while his lips curl.] Second, this week we've also got a barmaid. She doesn't bite but she might scratch.

[And so Tyki's bar is open as always but with a mingle! And for the next week Kitty Pryde (the elder) will be roped into being the Compass' barmaid due to a bet gone wrong. Tyki will be exceptionally cheerful about this, more often behind the bar than usual (which in itself is fairly often) at least while she's on the job. This means he'll be rather friendly and talkative. Best time to meet him, really. He'll have a thread right here.]

Let's just say its apparently a felony to wear them as swimsuits on some planets and leave it at that. As for the Empire we could go with the usual oppression worlds and nonhuman species, stripping of rights, that sort of thing or just go for the big ticket it and talk about the time they blew up an inhabited planet with billions of people on it. The Emperor died at Endor - where I picked up the facial accessory and the leg, incidentally so I don't actually remember it - but a lot of warlords and rogue admirals have popped up since then so that's who the Wraiths go after. We are currently convincingly disguised as a band of pirates in a particularly cunning infiltration scheme. It's pretty fun.

Oppression? Destruction? A huge, powerful enemy? These things she gets. She gets them a little too well.] So they're life preserving, not just enhancements? [She's seen both where she's from. She's also seen such things forced on people. There was a lot of experimentation in the pins.]

And wraith? That's your team?

He taps the side of his facial prosthetic.] Bacta allergy. This one's got a comlink built in, but that's it. The medical frigate I was serving on took a hit from a Super Star Destroyer. I got pinned beneath some superheated metal. Picked up that and the leg. [He tugs at his pants just enough to reveal a metal, robotic looking ankle.] Lost the hand later in combat but that wasn't as rushed a job so they had time to get one with synthetiflesh. Ooh, also, recently picked up an artificial spleen, that was excited. I got his by some shrapnel and I was so angry I just had to vert my spleen about it. [The hopeful expression of someone who has told that joke many times and never had it get the laughs he thinks it deserves.]

Yeah, my squadron. Monsters under the bed, you know?

The empire's been collecting pieces of you. [She's heard worse reasons to blow someone away.] The replacements are impressive. [They wouldn't be done like that where she's from. If someone was taking the time they'd be making him into a weapon. Built in laser canons and such. Or he'd be scraped for genetic fodder for the Infinite project. Logan lost his hand and all he had to show for it was a stump that could produce claws.]

No, they're not. [The metal ones are old fashioned and not really used any more but it had been that or nothing and he hadn't exactly been conscious to vote for the nothing option. He doesn't like them or the way they make him look or feel or how people back home view them and treat him as a result. Cyborgs as extensive as he is have always been a little subhuman even before Darth Vader came along to make them scary bad guys. Bacta could have patched up all his injuries if he hadn't been allergic, so he's a rarity with them. She's right about it being hard though; he's an expensive thing to have in the military and he'd nearly washed out for it.] If I get the job give it to me because I'm really good at what I do, not because I've got some extra parts.

I guess what I mean is that where I'm from life has gotten cheap. There's more effort going into ending them than preserving them. [So that part is impressive to her. The actual technology is far beyond what was happening in your average hospital back when those were still operating, but things had spiraled in the last few years. Devastation mixed with alien tech and your occasional mad genius tech. So it had the benefit of seeming both advanced and a little clunky to her.]

I'm a fan of the protecting life myself. [Says the assassin to the doctor. But she means it.]

Anyway, in the actual interview and following skills test it's all about you. I don't grade on a curve.

((OOC: I'm fine either way with playing/not playing his interview. If it happens it will probably just be him being incoherently weird, and if it doesn't happen assume the weirdness played out.))
