[ It's been a long day. An eternity or perhaps just a few minutes, seconds, heartbeats since he woke up to an empty bed and an even emptier apartment. It wasn't too hard to swallow back the panic at first, keep it at bay with positive thinking and the stubborn task of looking in every nook and cranny, of testing the line over and over and over again because sooner or later he would turn up. He'd pick up the call. He was probably just busy, or out in Sector 6 or taking a bath.

He'd show up, sooner or later.

Morning turns to day turns to evening and he's still alone. By now the panic is all-consuming, squeezing at his heart until he can't even breathe. Fingers shaking, Aidan flicks on the audio feed. One last ditch effort. ]

Has anyone- [ But he stops himself there. Sometimes you know the answer all too well. So well that you don't want it confirmed more than you've already done yourself. He draws a deep breath, steadies himself for another short minute. ]

If anyone wants t' know... I know he had a few friends here. Probably more than he knew. Helix is...

Helix is gone.

[ With that he cuts the feed, abruptly, tugs the headpiece off just as frantically before heading down to the beach. He can't think of any other place to go. ]

((ooc: Anyone is welcome to find him down at the beach! Audio responses will be icly delayed seeing as he's pretty damn heartbroken, but they will be responded to eventually. ))

	[She briefly describes the location which I believe is in Sector 4 but would not swear on it] It's not exactly like home, but it's comfortable and I feel safer there than anywhere else in the dome. Sougo always makes sure we have plenty of movies around. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Me an' Helix talked 'bout movin' into that Sector, but we ended up over in 2 instead. More his style, y'know? [ And that's one reason why he can't bring himself to go back. It was more Helix's home than his own. Had been since he first arrived in Marina — he moved in with the younger boy. Helix called the shots, even if he may not have been aware of it. Aidan always followed and now he's all out of leaders. ]

Sounds nice, livin' with you guys... you sure it's okay?

Of course. Sougo and I both love you. We'd be happy to have you there. [Lacus doesn't always feel confident speaking for Sougo, but in this case she can't imagine he'd feel otherwise. The only worry she has is not letting Sougo feel neglected as she inevitably fusses over Aidan while he's grieving. It's probably best that she not be quite so openly affectionate with Sougo for a while lest they inadvertently remind Aidan of what he's missing.]

We can all help each other. [Yes, right now Aidan needs the most help, but she wants him to know that his presence will be as soothing to herself and Sougo as she hopes theirs will be to Aidan. To make it clear he's not even a little bit a burden.] Whenever you'd like to come and see it, I'll get you a key and anything else you need. [Like a lot of post-drinking aspirin and a cold compress...]

	[ It's an excellent tactic — not being useful at all has always been among Aidan's top ten fears and hearing that he can provide with something in the not to distant future is oddly comforting. So much so that he's able to muster up a weak little smile. ] Maybe a little later... I'd like to just be here for a while. [ Let things sink in. Land. ] Thanks, Lacus. There's no hurry. [Logistics relatively settled, Lacus falls silent as she looks at the rolling waves. Nothing close to the real sea she'd lived beside during her too-brief time on Earth and yet it's impossible not to associate with that time. She wants to be there for Aidan and hopes she has been, a little, despite her own grief which is only slightly less fresh.]

May I stay a while? [Something in her tone says she's done talking unless he's not. She just doesn't want to leave him alone.]

	[She nods and pulls her knees to her chest, chin settling on her folded arms. If Aidan wants to talk she'll listen and do her best to help; if not, she's content for each of them to sit with their own thoughts. 	[ It's surprisingly nice, having someone to sit in silence with. He doesn't say anything else, just lets his thoughts wander with the rolling waves, allows himself to get lost in the rhythmic noise and the presence of one of his best friends in this godforsaken place.
