Evening 241 } Action } Open Mingle
[ As mentioned by the wardens yesterday, Eric is hosting a costume party. The Blood Shack is lit by candles for the evening (he remembers the last party he had being interrupted by a power outage) and a small buffet of sorts has been erected. It furnishes mostly hors d'oeuvre and finer foods, things that Caroline picked out as Eric hasn't a clue about human food.

There is blood on tap (naturally) as well as a full bar. Eric has made certain to include water, sodas, tea and various non-alcoholic drinks.

The jukebox is playing a variety of music, but patrons are always invited to pick out their own music. The dance floor has a disco ball and there's the ever present 'dancing' pole on stage if someone gets brave. Tables are scattered about as are sofas and chairs so that people have a choice where they sit.

Enjoy yourself, mix, mingle and admire everyone's costume and everyone is required to have a costume in order to be here. ]

[ Eric smirks at her question, watching with amusement as she grabs the bottle of beer from the bar. He comes from a time when there was no such thing as a legal age to drink alcohol so that part of things don't fuss him at all. In fact, it's a bit endearing the way that Elena is comfortable enough around him to do such. So few people are. ]

Ah, but there aren't many people who know it's true. [ he gestures out to the crowd of people. ]Most of them just assume I'm a very tall man pretending to be a viking.

[ color elena not surprised. although the sudden and rare grin doesn't go unnoticed. she's seen plenty of smirks and grins from eric, but this one seems a few good measures without guile. she can't help but return it with a spreading one of her own, mostly because he's definitely ridiculous. him and every other vampire who seems to feel similarly about their knowledge and power over the unsuspecting. re: damon.

her eyes close momentarily and she lets out a soft laugh. yet it gives her pause too. considering what she is now. considering instead of a lifetime, there's an eternity stretched out before her.

she wonders how she might feel in a century or two, and why. her eyes roams over the crowd, over all the people who could be dead long before her. when she turns back to eric, her question is blunt, curious, and with an air of seriousness that wasn't present before. ] Why is that?
